SONY needs to change the controller for the PS4

The DS is just too small, the analog sticks are loose, and playing FPS games on it is just impossible for me. It works well for 2d games but more and more developers are staring to use dual analogs for all their games and they fell out of place. The 360 controller feels much better in every aspect, especially the one with the slide out Dpad.

Maybe. I do hate the placement of the sticks for shooters.

DS3>360 for fighting/action adventure games

360>DS3 for shooters

Totally agree. In fact, I'm one of the most critical posters on this board when it comes to the PS2 controllers. It is time for a change. I have man-hands.

The shape latest 360 controller iteration is perfect. Replace the dpad with a better one and you've got the perfect controller.

yea I am surprised they haven't done that already. The controller hasn't really changed ever since the dual shock was released along with Ape Escape on PSX.

I just want the weight of the PS2 controller back. Give the option to move the left analogue stick so the argument can finally end. I'm personally fine with the Dual Shock layout.

The only thing I want changed is the triggers.

Other than that I don't want anything changed because I like the shape and size just the way it is.

I agree. Heck, I want a universal controller. Xbox 360 controller with a better D-pad. That's all I really need. Even if Sony just offered a Dualshock with the left stick and d-pad reversed that would be better.

Not a fan of the dualshock at all.

Yeah they should

I've disliked the dual shock since the PS1 and the PS3 version is imo the worst of the bunch

The only thing they have going for them is a better dpad than the 360 controllers

The d-pad is one of the greatest components of the Dual Shock.
I'd hate it if they'd change it.

It is too small and my hands are actually a bit smaller than most. Anyone who finds that controller perfect has clearly gone numb from the years of abuse they have subjected their hands to.

It's one of two good things about the controller. The second being the internal rechargeable battery. That D-pad is a bitch on the hands though.

It's perfect the way it is.

Yes, but the size does need to increase. Some of us don't have Japanese sized hands. :|

The X-box "Duke" will forever be the only comfortable controller for my huge-ass hands. :(

The only change they need to make is make it like the 360 one. Between the crap triggers and weird left stick placement it made playing Borderlands a pain in the ass. That goes for any shooter really.

The triggers need borders around them and the analog sticks need the tightness of the PS2 sticks back. The PS3 sticks are too loose.

The PS2 controller was the best one of them all.

It's my preferred controller for all genres, including TPS and FPS. I wouldn't mind a few minor tweaks like implementing the d-pad from the Vita and changing the shape of the L2/R2 buttons but overall I'm very happy with the DS3.

I agree, I loved the dualshock until I got a 360. Now that's a perfect controller, so comfy. If sony can replicate that and make the dpad not shitty, they would have a winner. Analogue placement sucks currently and it needs to be concave.

They need to make it more like 360 controller just with a better d-pad. Even Nintendo modeled the Wii U's pro controller off 360's pretty much.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
It's perfect. If they change it to appease people whose primary console isn't even the PS3 I'll be rather pissed off.

I really thought they had the GOAT, but once I finally got a 360 I realized that its particular brand of different was actually better. Still, I don't want them to outright copy that one.

A D-Pad switched into that position is far, far harder for me to use on average than analog sticks in that place, not to mention using the claw is impossible with the analog sticks above the D-Pad/buttons. Admittedly I am curious to see how the Wii U game pad will work out, but that doesn't negate the second point, which IS useful when it crops up.

It's great the way it is. Just change the dpad to the Vita dpad, make the triggers concave instead of convex, and MAYBE the same for the analog sticks.
