That sounds awesome. Totally excited for the possibility for custom games and custom maps made just for this gametype.

Dominion sounds interesting. I wonder how they'll handle those weapon/vehicle drops. The idea seems very similar to Invasion Slayer with a capture and hold mechanic and the weapon drops being a contested area/nadefest/complete and total clusterfuck/moron magnet are (apart from Tier 3 loadouts) easily the weakest point of that gametype.

Looked like an auto-turret, the one I saw was on top of a base on Longbow. He had to shoot it a bunch with a machinegun turret to kill it, and got a "Turret Kill" medal when he did.

They are pretty much a combo of auto turret and human turret. They start as an irritant but get deadly fast, basically saying, move or die. Easy to avoid, but brutal if you don't.

By get deadly fast do they improve over time or over a progression of "phases" for the base based on how long you hold it. And if it is phase based how many "phases" do bases have. Looking forward to seeing the video. Do other things get built on bases? Like walls, cover, etc.

In Dominion, I wonder how the bases become more "fortified"? It's be sweet to have forge pieces spawn in at certain times to more fortify your base, or perhaps something like the Halo 3 Standoff base buttons.
 
Lots of Forerunner maps for a Holodeck that can simulate anything!

Game looks so fricking smooth and gorgeous, can't wait until tomorrow.

One base generated shield doors when fortified. One put down a gate.
I think they are forge objects!

Yeah, I'm really interested to see how it'll work for customs. In one scene on Exile, it looked like there was a built in sort of "light-fence" looking thing (bad description, sorry) on top of a base that looked like it changed color based on what team controlled the building. I kind of doubt stuff like that will be manually palceable, but who knows.

Oh, and to capture a territory, you walk up to a hologram that looks a bit like the signs over AA pickups in Reach, and "hold X to capture" for about two seconds. You can't shoot during that time.

Anyone know when it will be on the internet?

Probably on Gametrailers in an hour or so.

I'm still trying to figure out if I want to go into the campaign completely fresh and avoid all campaign footage, or just watch...

There is probably a good chance we will be able to control the capture times on the bases. Which will be good. As for making the gametype buildable I have faith in 343 that they did. I mean Invasion was multi-faceted and was forgeable. It would be cool to have a spawning mechanic that worked off of base upgrade moments so you can spawn like walls and stuff as the base gets upgraded. Would be great for custom games. Each spawned in piece would be tied to a particular base. Or anything in that bases perimeter are tied to that base.

So that's 2 Forerunner, 3 Human, one unknown, and no Covenant. I'm hoping that we get 3 Human/Forerunner/Covenant with one extra (probably Human) and then 1 of each aesthetic for the Forge environments.

Oh, and you guys just know all the kids on Halo 4 are just going to call Dominion Domination.

Yeah, I'm sure it'll be possible to make custom setups in Forge, but it looked like certain visual elements were physically part of buildings and may not be movable. kind of like how you can make your own Invasion maps on Boneyard with custom capture locations, but the Phantoms always fly to the same spots in each wave.

Granted, I probably shouldn't be jumping to that conclusion so soon. :lol

Was the campaign stuff very spoiler? I read some of the spoiler tagged stuff and it didn't seem like it.

If you've see the BTS campaign videos, you've seen 90% of what was shown tonight.

Yeah... I am definitely wondering if you can setup more than 3 bases. 5-7 bases would be awesome.

You still can't see the secondary weapon on the HUD... If it hasn't been fixed now, I'm starting to doubt that it will ever be.

Oops I classified Longbow as Forerunner because of the energy mine or whatever. My bad :).
So we have a snow UNSC map.. a bright forerunner map, a dark UNSC map, a canyon UNSC map, and a dark canyon Forerunner map?
Plus 5 more unrevealed ones, exciting :D.

I just realized the progression system has only been said to cover Spartan Ops and War Games - not Campaign. Campaign is supposed to be clearly separated from Infinity on the main menu, too. Hopefully this doesn't mean Campaign won't give XP, or that there won't be any Campaign challenges.
 
Was it Tombstone/Hang 'Em High that had 5 plot territories in Halo 2? That was pretty great. Hopefully something similar can be set up in 4.

I believe so. Halo 2 is sooo blurry to me. I'm wondering if this is an additional new gametype next to territories or if this is replacing territories.... hmmm.
