Ok, name a recent fighter, that has had a generally satisfying roster it's first time out?
1999-2012, it's still the same, rarely do I recall the FIRST installment of any fighter having a megaton roster.
The only people surprised by Ness were people outside of Japan, and the F-Zero name was somewhat known. So the only thing I'll note here is how they gave Capt. Falcon a personality, but someone can make the argument they did the very same thing with Fat P.
I had no idea who Toro was before this game, but I did recall seeing him in some Japanese Sony ads. Not many people outside Japan know who he is, and Spike and Sir Dan can pass as non popular characters too.
Either way, I'll just leave it at that, I'm kinda tired of these redundant arguments/discussions. In this thread everyone will is set on believing what they want, so whatever, to each, their own I suppose.

Maybe. All of their 2012 games have had their street dates removed too, so something weird's going on.

People are making this out to be a big deal, but, uh, I don't see what the problem is... this means I can get this game on/around 11/13, right?
Another delay would suck so bad, PSASBR is the only game I look forward to that comes out this year.

Though the codes may not work until release. Depends on when Sony wants them to work, they could potentially have those up early.

Preordered this today on a whim after watching the demo reel at Gamestop, Hope it will be fun and get the Vita version as well.

I based my run around Kacho Arino's from GameCenter CX (meaning no saving/restarting before gym battles because the ENTIRE game must count towards play time and most HMs must be on party members). So much fun! Can't wait to carry my Pokemon over to BW2! I've really grown close to my team.
For the time being, I'm going to run through the gym leaders and beat Red, hopefully meeting some new favorite Pokemon along the way.
Also, I've come to realize how outstanding Furret and Stantler are in-game.
The Boss had Sand-Attack, Confuse Ray, Hypnosis and Stomp and could outspeed and cripple almost everything. Natsumi RIPPED through Lance and had U-Turn, Strength, Sucker Punch, and Blizzard. It's definitely worth putting in the time to fish for Corsola in Olvine City before Cianwood too. Shirahoshi became a beast later with Surf, Ancient Power, Recover and Blizzard.
PS: For everyone wondering how I came across a Magcargo before the E4, I actually did EXACTLY what Arino did in his run and got the egg from Primo before the Violet City Gym.

1) 2 v 2 is so good, but I hope they clean up the end game, and end game screen-- hope they can put partners in one victory taunt (so we get a total of two), and that we get just 2 post-game scoreboards that neatly breaks down the scores, as opposed to using the FFA layout they have now.
2) If the announcer is going to call out supers, I hope he adds the name too, "Radec, Super 1"
I am very curious about the ranking and profiling in this game. I do hope it's not only deep, but more importantly, well engrained into the competitive experience-- I'd love it if we could have team rankings (so, if I play with my buddies, we get a Team Ranking). I think it'd be cool if, during the initial player intros, we get to see their PSN ID, rank, and a quick blurb like "W/L 1.2", or "123 Super 3's successfully performed".
I'm also adamant that this:

I'm putting an insane number of time in this beta, I always feel I can improve my strategy match after match, and so far it started to become hard to find clueless players.
Now many know what they do and use the same tactics, which add a lot to the experience.
