But my first post, and all subsequent posts have only said one thing. That I don't think that the free DLC is the reason why this is happening, there is some different reason all together.

Nope. I never said that. I think any and all Xbox Live members have a right to bitch at Microsoft and demand an explanation. But where does Halo 4 sucks, 343 sucks fit into that?

I really doubt this is happening. If by some chance it actually is happening, and happens to me, I'm selling my 360 and never buying a Microsoft product again.

Lol oh man, the way Microsoft, and 343 have handled Halo 4 has been ridiculously amazing. I'm so glad I didn't wait for H4, and left the 360 behind.

I'd bet it's probably a misflag with the Crimson DLC itself since both free downloaders as well as Season/LE edition people are also getting banned. Probably something to do with the "til the 18th" timer MS is using glitching out. But then it ends up getting paired with the whole free/not free for everyone but season holders' thing because it's still recent.

But even so, it's still really quite bad to have this occur in the continuing crimson DLC fandango, as well as possible (when combined with other stuff in the Halo 4 thread I've read on Crimson DLC regarding slowdown in certain maps, etc.) that this was perhaps rushed out the door a bit.

I can't believe blanket statements like these are tolerated. But I guess it's a public egging thread (which is deserved) so anything is accepted. People know they can get away with it so they do it.

Pretty much. This is a pretty big fuck up and they should be called out on it but there are some in here with their obvious bias and agendas. That's to be expected though. Pretty sure there were plenty of these types of comments in the threads about Sony's PSN credit card hacking fiasco as well...

Guess I am mostly curious as to why this is happening now and not earlier since we have been able to play the maps since Tuesday.

I have put in fair amount of time on the new maps and have had no issue but I will be staying off Halo online till they fix it.

Sucks that this is happening to people. Hopefully the issue gets resolved without more people getting banned. MS having a tough time getting good press these days.

Besides this instance and banning people for playing Halo 4 before it's official launch date, when has Microsoft banned groups of people wrongly in the past?

This is a genuine question, and those instances I listed are quite shitty situations but I don't remember stuff like this happening often and I've been a 360 owner/Live suscriber since 2006.

I guess it's a good thing the maps suck and the game's population has been dwindling or I may have played enough to get noticed. Is MS really that stingy that they can't admit they fucked up, give the first pack free, and pay for a new one for season pass holders? Seems like the logical PR move.

Also I can't believe Microsoft is banning people for THEIR fuck-up. I mean, shit, Sony screwed up like five times and gave some games
and home content
that was meant to be paid for out for FREE until they realized their fuck-up and corrected it and did not ban anyone for getting in on that "loophole"/screw-up after they fixed it and let them keep the stuff they got for free.

Bad/dick move all around, MS.

Sounds like auto ban bots got out of control. I doubt Microsoft will keep the banned people banned.

I get where hes coming from , All my real life friends that I have on Live don't like any of the games i'm into , its just shooters , shooters and more shooters. So for the most part games like Guardian Heroes , I play alone.

Halo banning happens all the time. En masse. This sort of thing works itself out. But maybe this is another halo4/xbox/microsoft/console gaming sucks can't wait for my pc thread in disguise? (looks at the posts above) Yes. Yes it is.

I was going to play online today. It's a good thing I held off.

Once again, I hope this gets sorted otherwise they'll be robbing themselves of a lot of good will.

And I have said it once and say it again, there is a serious lack of accountability here. Also, if players without fault are getting screwed and depending upon how much time it'll take to affected account, I hope MS has some form of compensatory awards.

It's all about the context. Right now, these insult chucking is amidst a lot of confusion pertaining to this ban. It's also not helped when people form hypothesis for both sides of the argument. So there'll most likely be no bans.
