Where?

Also, nice CD pick-ups! :D

Games and Blurays at a local Walmart, CDs on Saharis and Tower Records, all here on Monterrey. They had a great selection on Blurays for way less than $100 MXN, most around $50 pesos. Soul Calibur was $150 pesos, initially they only had the PS3 version advertised, but took the 360 box which was marked at $700 to the price scanner and it rang at $150. Don´t know if the sale was a YMMV deal or not though.

They were going all out on some launch 3DS games too, they had Steel Diver advertised for $30 pesos, but they had none visible, asked the store clerk to see if they had more in stock but he wasn´t very helpful. I´ll keep hunting for some local deals.

Thanks for the compliments on the CDs, those really are classic recordings!

I doubt it is a nationwide sale, but I will visit Walmart tomorrow just in case there is soemthing cheap and worth it. I mean, advertised as $30 pesos... WOW! :O
Also, Dvořák <3

My recently completed headphone set up:

I built the γ2 DAC, β22 amp, and σ11/σ22 power supplies myself.

The headphones are AKG Q 701, which I love because they don't over-emphasis bass like many headphones. I re-cabled it with some cardas wire I braided and neutrik connectors. I did this because the lime green pack-in cable looked garish to me. I was surprised to find that it does sound much better with the new cable; not because of any 'cable magic' but because I think the pack-in cables were really really really poor quality. Its a shame they make such a great headphone then put in poor quality cables.

I also bought a Woo Audio headphone stand, solid Aluminum.

& the best videogame art book ever, really really great.

Looks like a nice setup, I've always read that the B22 is pretty top notch. Nice job on the casing, and much respect for building them yourself. I have a pair of AKG K702 in my collection, I really like the AKG sound. I have a Twisted Pear Buffalo 24 DAC and an Aikido 24v amp that I use in my main headphone setup right now.

I haven't been keeping up with new headphones lately since I've been more into speakers for the last year or two, where are the Q701 supposed to fit into the AKG lineup?

Its a fun but expensive hobby, I'm sure you already know :) Happy listening!

Thanks.

I'd like to build some speakers too, but I'd need to get some wood working gear. Maybe next year.

I think it is top model, the only one made in Austria still I believe. According to the repair manuals, it has the same parts as the 702, except for the lime green stiching. I was thinking about getting Sennheiser, but the are real sticklers for making sure their retailers don't discount, wheras AKG doesn't care. B&H had them for 40% off retail.

Finally showing up in Canadian stores.

So sad...it's an end of an era. That final Nester comic though was very well done and well written.

It's a good month to be a handheld gamer in my house!

The Game Boy Color, GBA AGS-101 and Game Gear, along with the GBC, GBA and GG games were picked up as a lot off Kijiji (along with some lesser GBA games) for $80. I really just wanted Oracle of Ages and Minish Cap, but I was agreeable to grabbing the lot! ;) Oh ya, and I finally bought Dream Drop Distance... Word that I'd be able to buy the NeoGeo X Gold at my local EBGames arrived as a welcome surprise only a week ago after months of wondering whether they'd be available in Canada or not...

I wish I waited, but I bought the subscriber cover one off the site. I might grab a copy for regular reading from the store too. I'll miss NP even though I didn't read it or sub for 6-7 years.

Finally got around to buying an Android-powered phone: a Sony Xperia Tipo.

I don't intend it to replace my beloved Nokia dumbphone, though, since I barely call anyone, and smartphones have way worse battery life; I only got it for testing Unity games on it, since it's fairly low res and that's just what I needed to make sure graphics and in-game GUIs look good on smaller devices as well.

Picked up a Sony PVM-14M4U. It's tiny but the picture is amazing. It supports both S-Video and Component through BNC, RGB too if you want to go that route. I'd like to eventually grab the 20" one, or three, and then line everything up with the PS2, Xbox and Wii connected through Component, and the Saturn, N64 and Dreamcast connected through S-Video, no switches. Then I can use the 14" for the CDX and SNES or something (the Wii emulates 8/16-bit stuff just fine as is).

2 DS games I got over the month and with this my US Ace Attorney games collection is complete, now to pray and hope Capcom localizes AAI2...

PS3 haul from Black Friday to last week.
Already beat Catherine and Journey, amazing games both, will probably try going for a Hard playthrough on Catherine somewhere down the line.
I might sell GTA IV since Amazon shipped the Greatest Hits version and I really hate having red boxes among my transparent ones (I only own one GH game and that is the first Assassin's Creed), grabbed R&C for $15 during Amazon's BF sale and GT5 for $10, couldn't let those deals slip by.
I used a $10 off code for AC3 that a friend had thanks to the white Vita bundle, since the game was $33 last Tuesday on Amazon I had to use the code which brought the total down to $23, sweet price for a month old game.

is this the "GOTY" edition of SR3 or...? does it contain ALL DLCs/preorder stuff/etc.?

Yeah, The Full Package is basically the ultimate edition....contains all 3 DLC packs: Genki Bowl, Gangstas Space, and The Trouble with Clones. And 30+ DLC weapons and outfits to boot.

999 is...unique. It's pretty cool, a lot of reading but I'm really liking it. Pullblox is damn good. And I never played Links Awakening before. Thanks to the guys who recommended them to me!

Very nice. There is always at least one of these on Craig's in and around my area for dirt cheap, but I keep hoping for a 20". Though I may be moving into a smaller place in a year so a 14" may be ideal.
