Explain why, please. I'm not being obtuse - I want to know whether you mean graphically, stylistically, or whether it's just a game you think you don't want to play on a mechanical level.

Based on that video, it looks and sounds outdated. None of what that shows appeals to me whatsoever, and redoing stages over and over to get a 'perfect run' is not something I will remotely enjoy. I might not even bother downloading it.

If a big fan of it describes it as frustrating but rewarding, then I can safely assume it's not a game for me. Not to mention the negative opinions it's gotten in this topic.

How do you come to the conclusion that they're 'skimping' on it? And why are you ignoring the fact that half the time you are getting games that probably outvalue the 'wasted' £5 during the remainder of the year?

You know what you are signing up for when you pay for PS+. You do not always get what you want. You sometimes get things that are perfect and you are delighted with, and sometimes you get things that surprise you or disappoint you.

That's the way it is and I see no valid reasoning for the kind of downtrodden hyperbole that some are echoing.

I say they're skimping on it because the value of next month's games is low, particularly on the Vita side of things. JSR is £6.50 and Pinball Arcade is £8. Bringing it to a grand total of £14.50. Comparatively, this month we have MK, which retails at about £14, Big Sky is £8 and Knytt is £10. Next month is straight up poor in comparison.

That's what I'm saying.

US got it as part of their first month as an extra title. So where they got JSR, we got nothing. It's now taking up an additional slot in our IGC, so in effect, they got two games where we got one.

Not the actual content, just that it's coming next week. Monday, I believe.

Well we did get Chrono volt .. although that's nothing to brag about lol.

Yeah i'm still thinking about switching accounts for a while....

I might use Jap account on a different memory card. You can do that, right? Whack a different memory card in and go on a different account? I haven't ever had a reason to do it before.

Now if Lucasarts would just port the Monkey Island SE's unto Vita, and maybe make a DoTT one...

That would be awesome. Even more awesome if you got a free download if you already own the game on PS3(like me). Even better if DOTT and other LA games got remade and got Cross Buy promotions. Disney ain't doing that though, that's for damn sure.

I would hope TTG does it though, I own some of their games and wouldn't mind getting some others, especially with cross buy promotion. TWD S1 and the upcoming S2 would be amazing.

Really happy with January's PS+

Already have Pinball Arcade on 360, so was 50/50 about double dipping. So that is me sorted and I'll happily play JSR again.

I used to play it yearly on the Dreamcast until I had to sell, then made my way through it on XBLA, so here I go again on Vita.

Finally picked up New Little King's Story. Only a few hours in, but I'm enjoying it so far. For anybody who's played it, any tips regarding Alchemy or how to equip items you find?

You'll need to either go into the status menu in the main menu to equip things, or do it through the citizens list at the podium or on your throne. You don't really need to bother with alchemy honestly unless you're going for the platinum, you can find great gear as you progress through the game naturally. If you focus on leveling up the same personal guard, they'll get pretty uber and be able to take down any boss really.

Also another tip, if you are going for the platinum eventually, make sure you take princesses out with you wherever you go otherwise you'll have to rubber band your Vita later to get their affection levels up (like I did).

So torn on what to play on my lunch break at work today - realistically I have Stranger's Wrath, Dokuro and Alundra. I'm holding off still with Motorstorm because I need to do that lame online thing between my Vita and PS3 later today :\

Definitely switching accounts when the SS demo comes out! Although it means redoing my 4gb.. again. :(

Fair points made, thank you for explaining in detail exactly what you meant. I guess, however, there has to be a certain element of stretching things out - for all we might argue otherwise, they'd run out of the more interesting Vita games fairly quickly. It'd be interesting to know the internal process of PS+ selection, whether it's a straight up allocated budget or whether they genuinely try and get things that would be different or interesting.

The JSR hate is strong in this thread. How could anyone hate such a precious gem?

Ugh

Lost my WipeOut save.
Didn't realize I had to go to content manager to use PS+ saves. I wasn't deep in, but was in second season with every completed event done to elite pass.

Need to make sure that shit gets backed up now.

That's the third time since I have my vita i'd have to hard restart it through safe mode. Was playing some Littlebigplanet, put the system in standby and when I picked it back up, it just didn't want to turn on anymore.
Scared the shit outta me, but it's allright now :p
it's a gas, gas, gas. Darn Grrr.

So what's the process for switching accounts? Can I take my US card out, do the system wipe, and then just stick the JP card in? Is it ever going to prompt to format the card if I leave it out while switching?

That happened near the launch period for me. Don't remember the last time I had to do a hard reset! ... Still no idea what caused/ causes it.

I was just thinking the same thing actually. When they choose a game like Pinball Arcade or Chronovolt, they must know the majority won't be interested, right? Or do they actually think they're giving the best value possible?

Unfortunately, it's not something we'll ever find out, I don't think.

Either way, now I've moaned about it a bit, I'll let it drop. I still think it's a crappy month, but whatever. No big deal I guess.

As a point of interest, would anyone else rather they gave away PSP games than PSN games? I would have much rather had, say, Valkyria Chronicles 2 than Knytt or Pinball Arcade.

All this JSR talk reminded me of my favorite DC game ever, that now I wish they'd port to the Vita. Virtual On: Ontario Tagram. Seriously, make this happen and make it 60fps just like the dc version.

I would love you (more) forever Sega.

I just hope you guys post videos of Soul Sacrifice. Lots and lots of videos.

I'm expecting more than 200k numbers of sales for it. I'm sure it'll do much better than Ragnarok Odyssey in Japan.

Cool, i'll be doing that tomorrow to play SS demo then :)

Sony needs to market it well,it seems to have a lot of potential.

I forgot about that...

... :(

I'm shocked there aren't any adventure games besides Escape Plan on Vita yet, it's perfect for the genre!

Well EU+ plus update is pretty disappointing. There's nothing of worth to me.

Oh well. As much as + offers, I don't mind the occasional useless month, even if it is 2 in a row

So GAF, any reason to get Hexyz Force? The fast forward/battle option is intriguing but I don't like the character and monster designs a lot.
It seems to have a lot of content. Encounters aren't random, but it can be tough avoiding/running away from some enemies. Fast-forwarding fights is indeed very nice when revisiting locations where enemies can no longer do any damage to you.

Characters and the story are mostly JRPG cliches- it's not a terrible thing unless you hate JRPGs in general. The protagonist might be more of a reluctant hero than any protagonist in any recent RPG I can recall.

There is a curious scale mechanic where at the end of each chapter, the scale shifts toward creation or destruction. No idea how this is going to play out, though.

I would recommend it only if you've pretty much played all the PS1 RPGs, all the Persona games, and you're still in the mood for a more or less solid, lengthy JRPG.

Hey! I have a spare 4GB Card!
Any guide on creating a JPN PSN Account via Vita?

Gonna play it hard!
If it's formatted just make one like you normally would but select your country as Japan and just enter any rubbish address if it asks while creating it.

Sounds right.

You can leave it in and just say no to formatting the mem card.
It'll work fine after putting your US account back on.

Was a nightmare getting the correct postal codes for each prefecture last time :<
Hope it's easy now!

I really want to use my old 8GB card for my Japanese account, but moving all of the bubbles back in my 32GB card is too much of a hassle. Are the PSO2 beta signups still going on?

I belive the beta signups are still up till the beggining of January. And c´mon moving a few bubbles isnt that much.

My new 32GB card for the JP store is ready, give me my Soul Sacrifice!!!!

Don't think i've used my Japan PSN since the hack (because the email address wasn't real, so i had no way of recovering it) so i'll have to go create another one. Yay

Guys is there a way to have whats displaying on the vita also display on your tv, like through remote play on the ps3? Not sure if im describing this right, say im playing persona 4 on the vita but want to see it on my tv and use the vita as a controller.

The demo had better not be more than 3gb, lol.

There's no TV out for the Vita.

So with PS+, something like Pinball Arcade, if you get it for free then later pay for DLC, then let the PS+ subscription expire, can you no longer play any of it?

Thinking of biting for that + JSR for now. Problem is i have most of the Vita games i want already. I can see it being useful for games i don't really want to buy outright but play or try out for a while, or games i don't mind waiting a while after launch to have, CoD, SFxT, Sonic Racing etc.

Is there a chance for *any* game to show up in instant collection, or are some publishers just never gonna have their games for free?
