Oh lord, I really hope I'm wrong on this being underwhelming. The thought that a large majority of the titles being developed by Nintendos studios being unveiled is tantalising.

I hope you're wrong too...I'd love to see a new metroid or zelda on Wii U/3DS.

I pray it's not just RE Revelaitons is coming to Wii U, 'cause I've already played that on my 3DS.

Better not be a bunch of new casual or fitness wares. I want a at least 80% ratio of games we here would appreciate. New Yoshi's Island from Goodfeel or EAD would be godly.

But yeah, I'm on board, as always.

I don't think I have been this hyped for an event for years. There is just so much unknown at the moment that ANYTHING can be unveiled tomorrow.

ANYTHING!

NEW!

GAMES!?

I am not ready, my body is not ready!

Not just new games, new NINTENDO (1st-party) games.

Just gonna post this:

CHOO CHOO!

(Yes, I already boarded the train)

I boarded the last train and we're already at the platform. There's nothing here, just a load of shitty HD Gamecube games and Itoi sitting in the corner with a folder that says 'Mother 4' on it.

Underwhelmed. Might take another trainline next time.

This is horrible news.

They're going to blow their load now and then everyone will be so mad at E3 when all we get are fancy trailers and gameplay demos for these already-announced games.

They shouldn't have done it for Pokemon and they shouldn't do it for these either if it means having a stronger E3 to go up against new competitors' systems.

As long as we get the games it doesn't really matter too much.

i can't wait for 10 minutes of Pikmin 3 for people who don't know what Pikmin is, 10 minutes of a Game & Wario game, 5 minutes of Lego City Undercover, 5 minutes of services with no dates to be coming "later this year," and then after a long wind up, a logo and 5 seconds of footage of a monolith game that shows absolutely nothing

Announcements are one thing. Showing stuff from those games is a whole other ball of wax. If we get the announcements and quick looks at the games out of the way before E3 we'll probably get more substance. I mean, they could still announce a bunch of awesome stuff through Directs and still crush at E3. We'll see.

This is exciting, though. Really hoping the release schedule picks up this summer.

E3 is irrelevant if Nintendo is seriously worried about how investors perceive the Wii U after it releases missed sales targets.

You don't understand...missing sales expectations is REALLY BAD for a company. The absolute last thing that investors like to see is a company decline.

That and E3 is declining in influence. Nintendo Directs are Nintendo's replacement.

What better way to build hype than tell us about their games months in advance instead of being overshadowed by the PS4 and 720 announcements at E3?

Although Nintendo WOULD BE slaughtered at the event if they really had nothing to announce...

Seriously? I highly doubt that Nintendo is going to spoil all their E3 announcements five months ahead of schedule, but as long as they deliver on the software front, "winning" E3 doesn't matter much.

I mean, who else remembers the awful GC/GBA "connectivity"-centered conference back in 2003? GC managed to have one of its best holiday seasons that year.

Yup. This years E3 belongs to MS and Sony, since their new tech will be shown. I have no problem with Nintendo showing a lot tomorrow and a little at E3. No matter what Nintendo shows at E3, all people will be talking about are the two new consoles and that the Vita didn't show up.

can a nintendo direct be the time and place for a big reveal like metroid prime 4, mario Universe and Zelda HD?????

I somehow can't believe it.

Nah, man. This will have Japanese games. E3 will focus on all the western support like Retro's game and... um...

That would actually be a improvement from the Reggie teleprompter mouth flapping that routinely breaks the flow and momentum of exactly the same structure of normal Nintendo E3's (good ones at least). But half all those times and instead put the remaining time into "new IP" of casual stuff and "3DS connectivity", and you've got my feelings.

Hopefully I'm wrong and they blow me away, give Monolith a shout and save Retro and EAD for E3!

Remember last E3?

As long as the games are there, I don't care if they're announced today or during E3.

A couple of days ago I was thinking "when is the next Nintendo Direct?" then today my prayers have been answered!

If they do this in an awesome way I might have to buy a Wii U a lot earlier than I think.
