Uncharted 4 being teased?

I think Uncharted 3 had a nice closure for the series (although i didn't like the game that much).
Frankly, i wish they would try other IPs, The Last of Us for example looks amazing.
Naughty Dog is wasted working on the same IP for so long.

I think they need to put the franchise on a long break, maybe 4-5 years. Bust it out as a PS4 mid generation kicker.

A franchise that sells 5 million with each entry is not going a long break. God of War and Uncharted will keep getting more and more entries because Sony has struck gold with it.

That's kind of splitting hairs. All 3 suck as "games" (ultra linear, enemy closets, poor shooting mechanics), it's how well they handle the character interaction and setpieces that matters with those games.

You and jett really should switch tags lol

Uncharted is my FAVOURITE new IP this gen. However I am 100% against [UC4] being on PS3. I have <--- TLOU for dat Naughty Dog crave.

UC4... PS4 or bust, Sony.

I'm sure Uncharted 4 will be PS4/Orbis we've had 3 games on PS3 already, plus like you say we have TLOU for PS3.

guys guys, lets not derail this thread with UC2 vs UC3 debate, we all know UC2 was the superior game, with that said, let continue speculating about UC4

The idea that linear games are inherently bad really needs to be put to rest. All games don't have to evince the same mechanics or structure. A diversity of experiences is good, and Uncharted shows why linear games can be effective if done well.

Fuck yes. Still a little annoyed that he had to leave Uncharted 3 to go and make the hobbit, it did sort of fuck up the story. But Cutter is my favourite character in the series, he's just so good.

Edit: I'd go for an uncharted game starring cutter.

Do I win a prize for talking about my penis on the Internet???
so if a game is not as good as its predecessor it's a "pretty bad" game.

ALRIGHT.
Im holding it to higher standard, nothing wrong with that, Jesus Christ. I found UC3 boring, I was barely motivated to finish the game. UC2 is my game of the generation, so yeah going from one to the other the game to me WAS 'pretty bad'.

Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable or something..

Now that Team Ueda has imploded, I think Uncharted is my favourite Sony franchise.

Hurray..

Maybe on the Vita. I really can't see the console games be anything but Drake focused.

I'd say Sony will be looking to Gears Judgement to inform its decision. The series isn't as character-driven as Uncharted, so it can potentially get away with having a different protagonist on a home console title, but it is largely the reason we have Uncharted at all.

In any case, Sully is adored, so I can see Uncharted: Sully's Moustache Edition going either way.

If they are making UC4 its definitely not going to be the PS3.

Unless its PS3/PS4.

That would be deeply disappointing to me. Any game that includes PS3/360/WiiU on it's platforms is going to be designed to cater for the weakest platform, significantly reducing the scope of what the game will be.

If Sony want to keep the magic they need to make sure fatigue doesn't set in. They have had this happen to other franchises before.

I'm amazed ND hired this guy again after he bailed out on them mid-way through production of UC3.

Is that what happened?!

That's why Charlie just disappears half-way through. He ran off to The Hobbit. Wow.

The Hobbit wasn't even good!

When the first UC4 trailer is shown, there will be a ton of people in denial that its real time. Mark my words.

I've been thinking this myself. When ND shows their hand for Uncharted 4 minds are sure to melt! Hell I don't know if I am ready for it.

No....this means the UC3 team will be working on it instead of the UC2 team making TLoU. Oh well I guess it will still be a good game, but it's obvious where the best talent in ND is.

well if they are just starting then this could well be the last of us /u2 team. u3 team has to be working on something after u3 shipped end of 2011. the last of us wrapped production last month or so i believe.

Between a TLOU demo and a potential Super Bowl ad, they're doing everything they can to counteract fatigue in one franchise right now.

I'll just quote myself from a different thread...

Played all 3 main Uncharted titles. While I appreciate what ND did on a technical level, the games weren't that great.

Half ass'd platforming and redundant puzzles in between repetitive and mundane gunplay. If the games didn't have the amazing graphics, animations and acting, I wouldn't have finished any of 'em.

As for the topic at hand, you guys are just jumping to conclusions.
