Also I feel the need to point out that we were told online File Shares would be up by the end of February. There's one week left to make it happen and we have zero word on what's going on.

This isn't looking good.

They said they were aiming for late Feb, no? Perhaps 3 months isn't enough time to outsource the site design to someone.

Eh, I picked that mission cause I love the beginning where you are launched out of the portal right into the middle of the enemies. Also, it would've been rude to stack it with only my missions. :)

Regarding TU concerns about sandbox balancing, dun worry. We'll have more info in the coming weeks. Unfortunately I really can't say more than that right now.

Oh I thought that TU update stuff was final and it was coming soon. In a couple of weeks were getting more info on it? When do players that still play actually get the TU?
 
That's the biggest reason I don't like it, really. You get launched onto that structure and are immediately pinged by the three jackal snipers there and even if you survive you're at the mercy of that Elite General who is standing right next to you. I know you have that invulnerability for a second when you land, but they hit you so quickly that I died almost immediately my first time playing. I play solo so that probably colors my perception of it, but I really didn't enjoy my time with it. Later on when a bunch of enemies got dropped onto my head from a drop pod because I was standing on the center structure like a sane person instead of wandering around on the ground floor, that didn't help.
I agree. I played every Spartan Ops mission solo except for two and that mission had been a kick into my guts. It was not even enjoyable. Okay. It was cool when you had got out of the portal but then. Screw that. At the end Spartan Ops is planned more like co-op experience, but still...
That's why I personally liked it; it felt different and you're thrown right into chaos from the beginning.
Chaos does not define what I think about Halo encounter design. In Halo 1-3, there was (most of the times) a clever combination of enemies to create a great encounter hiding behind the mask of chaos. Most of SpOps Half one missions just throw a shit tons of enemies at you. Not a big deal to be honest, but it is nearly impossible to finish some SpOps mission solo without deaths.

I'm replaying the Halo 4 campaign. I didn't realise it before, but Composer is a really solid level. One of my favourites in the game actually. Plus I never knew that there were little audio logs near items that the UNSC collected from gamma Halo (Like the activation index). Cool stuff.

343 can't even get a bulletin about the TU to work correctly... It constantly jumps to the top of the page when you get half way down on iOS.

As much crap as I give 343 for Halo 4, I understand just how hard it is to implement and roll out title updates.

I'm guessing there is more at work than Bravo mentioned because they said they didn't want to tell us what was in the TU or what they are fixing so people can't exploit it.

Maybe this is a preliminary TU meant to remove obvious bugs and glitches and with the implementation of ranks and new playlists is when they'll change other features?

Here's hoping with the addition of Rumble Pro, there will be a big team pro and team slayer pro soon that mimics the settings of doubles pro. Though I wouldn't mind if motion tracker is enabled for big team since there are so many people.

On a side note, why haven't they gotten rid of the gauss cannon/tank yet in exile? What they could do right away is give a rocket hog and place a wraith where the tank currently spawns. This would remove huge obstacles to gun play right away. The rocket hog is pretty deadly but this way it's not as easy to go 40-1 in matches. Plus the wraith would be high risk since it's easy to jack and kill.

I think a rail hog would be a great addition to vehicular play. You'd need a great driver and there would be skill in having to time and charge up your shots.

Why is the Gauss Hog in Halo?

It's been complained about in every map it's been on. Every. Damn. Map. It hardly adds anything to the campaign and will ruin a match. Take it out.

Offset? Any competent player will destroy a Banshee in the first 5 seconds with a Gauss Hog and proceed with a Killing Frenzy afterwards. The weapons being such anti-vehicle now have weaken the Banshee significantly since it's nearly always in range, especially with the DMR and Sniper. The gauss hog has the terrain to hide and pop out along with a quick kill.

Oh I think that's false. The gauss hog is for all intents and purposes hit scan and with a smart driver one could escape every banshee bomb. The gauss hog takes out the banshee in, venturing a guess, nearly every game I've played on Exile within the first couple seconds.

And yet tank gameplay breaks halo multiplayer so quick. Every time it usually gets removed from maps or they make both teams get one. And people still complain.

The banshee actually is not good at taking out the gauss because most gauss users will two shot the banshee from spawn. Plus it's not guaranteed the other team will get banshee. It's all but guaranteed blue will get the gauss since they spawn 2 feet from it.

With the wraith, you could have people use it to provide a distraction or use it to take out ghosts or warthogs. You shouldn't be able to be guaranteed killing frenzies every time.

I think one match I went 32-2 because of the tank.

If you need to make sure wraith is a bit better protected spawn a ghost nearby. The gauss cannon is too fast, too precise.

Edit: didn't want to double post, but can any pc savvy folks tell me how impressive the ps4 truly is? Is it 8 gigs of gddr5 beastly? What if you had 12 gigs or more of gddr3? Is this significantly better than the wii u? Though I probably will get both consoles at some point, I know the one I buy first and start buying games for, becomes my main console.

Also if you had to compare the ps4 to current pc setups, would it be considered high end?

Dumb questions I know, but they do provide some reassurance. I'm only interested in gaming more, not really into the complete media experience or social experience.

Also I agree with the gauss hog, it needs to be taken out of exile, I once went a game with 43 wheelman medals thanks to that thing. That or nerf it. Is this why everyone constantly picks exile on big team slayer?

I'm like 7 kills away from getting that 20 kills in a mantis on shatter, It's so hard to find the right opportunity to stomp. It's the last achievement I need to get before the new map pack comes out.

Depending on how decent a driver is, and if your team has no one with a Plasma Pistol/Plasma Grenade combo, the Gauss Hog can wreck Banshee and people going for it, and just as easily sneak round to tank from your side and take everyone going for it from behind.

Banshee is pretty much a central power Vehicle. I really don't see how it's supposed to be there to balance out the Gauss Hog, especially at the start of a game. When I'm goosing I rush from spawn to spawn down the path under the Arch and I see the Gauss wreck every time.

This FFA news, despite it being Infinity, is pretty awesome. It may not be Throwback FFA but I am hoping that it is somewhat of a true slayer FFA playlist. Regicide just doesn't really scratch that itch at all.

Anyways, watched everything now and it really looked pretty amazing. Huge steps were made and I really hope, Microsoft pays attention or have similiar plans, if not better.

So yeah, this is how you do a reveal. Can't wait to play all those games.

Someone post the tweet that mentioned Speed Boost and the Flag being an OP combo, but FUN! I'm sure that will answer this question.
 
There are threads on /r/halo and Waypoint that the TU is out. An update for Halo 4 has supposedly been released that's 37MB. No confirmation if it's the TU.

Not near my Xbox, we need someone to confirm a change asap.

Check this now if you can. It'll be the easiest one to check. Just play a custom Flood game on Ragnaork or something.
 
People complain about Boltshot and that 343 isn't doing anything about it despite it being one of the largest problems in the entire sandbox.
343 does something about it.

Reducing the distance isn't really the issue, it's still a one shot kill Shotgun at close range. As a secondary starting weapon, no less. There's too many over-powered weapons in the game, but unfortunately it's all by design.
 
So the title update is out but we know nothing of sandbox tweaks besides the Boltshot?

We had to rely on pirates to know the 10th map and anything about Theater.

343, you are a building one strong reputation on releasing information.

The TU is out and we don't know all the details. I want to everyone to think about that for a second. I give Bungie a lot of heat about Reach and I still believe Halo 4 is the better game, but if this is the TU (which seems all but officially confirmed), then 343's ability to give out information to their consumers is embarrassing and something that Bungie and nearly every developer does right.
