Despite all the good things they are saying about the game, if a Super Mario game couldn't pull it out of the dregs, what makes people think a Lego game in a world of a dime-a-dozen Lego games is going to make people go out and buy a Wii U?

I don't know where people are getting this idea this thing will save the system. We are amidst a huge dryspell for games... it will appease the current Wii-U owners, but not enough to get people to buy a new system for this alone
They should wait and release a trifecta of games at the same time...
PS. Who is the girl in your avatar? She is very pretty.
Well, that's true, but it is not a good business decision. They should wait and release a trifecta of games at the same time...

Do we live on the same planet?
Gillian Jacobs, aka "Britta" from the NBC sitcom "Community".
Edit: thanks deviljho
She looks very different with brown hair. Look way prettier.

Anyone else can't help but wonder if that is how the game would look like running on PS4 hardware?
No, because it's based on a world made of plastic toys. It doesn't need next gen graphics to look like Legos.

This, Pikmin and W101 are going to be a great prelude to the holiday lineup. Yes, the console is absolutely bombing, but there is a lot of quality software on the horizon.
No one mention the possibility of more delays. T_T
Haha lolThis game has a fucking Lego T-Rex?
Day one.
Lego City Undercover |OT| - Everybody walk the Legosaur
Heading to Nintendo right now!
If they delay Lego City of all games... all hope is lost.
I'm pretty sure that one is safe. Thankfully. xD
Now Pikmin and W101...
They might as well not release any games at all.
There is a zillion things they could do to make the game look significantly better even with its chosen art style.
Not that I'm advocating for a PS4 version, I'm not, but the long standing myth that stylistic games don't benefit just as much from tech power as the realistic ones or whatever is just one that needs dying.
dat bloom effect in 3d dot heroes
Do you guys know if this game will have some sort of online co-op or any other online component?
I really want to use my Wii U on an online game.
bundle it with a Lego skinned Wii U please
Monster Hunter? Need For Speed?
Black Ops 2? Tekken? Sonic Racing? ACIII?

Speaking of delays, when's the last time Nintendo delayed a dated game?

Worldwide in total? Yeah, no. Lego games usually have great legs. This game might sell 100,000-200,000 copies. To say it will save the wii-u or even move a substantial number of systems is laughable.

No off screen play, like ZombiU. Game looks pretty good. Nice lighting/shadows, and motion blur. Framerate seemed 30fps, some dips. Atrocious loading times, but it was a dev build so *shrug*.

The buildings could be really shiny.
Are the textures as high resolution as they appear in recent screens or is that pure bullshot?
People who say it can't look significantly better on stronger hardware simply don't know what they're talking about. But that's fine. A lot of people have no eye for 3D artistry and rendering technology.
Can you give me an example?
