Wii U Virtual Console Lineup

The price isn't the worst part, the worst part is the games are not all cross compatible between Wii-3DS-Wii U. Sure, you can "transfer" your Wii games to the Wii-U, but good fucking luck getting a proper account system to be able to take it all on the go with your 3DS.

Word. I want to buy Super Mario Bros. VC and be able to play it across all platforms that support it for one price. Wii, Wii U and 3DS + any future consoles with VC.

I stand corrected. How easy is it importing/redownloading your Wii VC collection to Wii U?

You have to do the transfer process first. Then you have to redownload any games that were stored on an SD Card. It takes awhile if you have a lot of games. obviously.

It continues to be ridiculous that every game already on the Wii VC isn't being made available immediately.

I'd be upset about lack of GameCube games, but we'll probably get some more HD remakes so it's okay.

lol Nintendo is probably gonna do the same schedule for the vc game :( :'( oh god the times i waited for games to be uploaded.

N64 games will probably get announced at E3 and i will predict now, "We can't get them to run on the gamepad, sorry please understand"

*sees wii u games played on it*..........ahhhhh lol if they cant do that.

but my gamecube games :( where are they

Will QA for food.
I really hope they approach this as 'let's rapidly convert as many of the VC titles as possible for native playability" rather than "Let's start re-releasing from scratch, one or two at a time, so your favourite game might not be native until 2018 and maybe at all because we didn't sign follow-up contracts with 3rd parties so lol Hudson lol"

The large lump of Virtual Console games at the service's launch is promising.. but I wouldn't be surprised if a week later we're back to the trickle. Nintendo seems to be in love with the trickle release going by the later years of the Wii VC and now the 3DS VC.

That's exactly what I'm expecting.

In fact, I'm not even convinced right now that all the games in the OP are coming next week. I thought I heard Iwata say "these games are coming soon".

In my mind that meant these are the games coming in the first month or two of the Virtual Console release schedule.

Yeah, that trickle is gonna be in full effect again folks. God help them if we don't ever release Yoshi's Island for the U VC.

They'll probably announce them in 2015 for a 2016 - 2017 release. Nintendo is slow as fuck with these things. :/

IF EVER.

If ever is probably more accurate. I'll never understand what's going with Nintendo. They just can't seem to move beyond the NES/SNES era when it comes to VC.

Well with PS4 you wont get any of your PSN games from PS3 at all on PS4 at least WiiU lets you have Wii VC games on WiiU.

Thinking about it, we're not likely to get Turbografx games on this are we? A lot of them were taken off the Wii shop :(

not going to put my hopes up on a nice ready made library just yet but with DDP cash back I want to see more of these games before that promo ends next year

Do we even know if those are all the games that will be released on launch?

Also, can't wait for Earthbound, though "later this year" probably means December.

The Japanese Lineup:

NES:
Ice Climber
Excitebike
Xevious
River City Ransom
Solomon's Key
Mega Man 3
Fire Emblem

SNES:
Super Mario World
Mario's Super Picross
F-Zero
Super Ghosts
Kirby Super Super Deluxe

The European video showed Mario's Super Picross.

Between that and Picross e it feels like rubbing salt in wounds. Hey at least America don't need to worry about will it play at the correct speed...

I hope we get some GameCube titles...
N64 is going to take a while to be added for some reason, so I'm holding out less hope than ever for GameCube. Why Nintendo didn't get GC on there day 1 is beyond me, it's a console seller for sure. And boy do they need features that sell the console.

Okay, that really can't be the full lineup. It doesn't make sense to start with Mega Man 3.

At least for Mario's Super Picross we won't have to worry about that either. ;)

Yeah, their 1st party GC titles are worth getting up there asap.

With the release of Luigi's Mansion on 3DS, I really wanted to play the Gamecube one as well, but used store prices bring it to about $30 ish.

Put that on VC for $15 and I'd have picked it up already.

Probably somewhere in between.

What are they doing? My Xbox1 plays more Nintendo games than their consoles...why the trickle for what's basically ROMs?

My biggest gripe about Nintendo is how they handle their eShop. Jesus, just dump all the gamecube and snes games out all at once already.
