Wow, I'm loving those details. Especially the ones about the towns and replayability built right into the game. August can't come soon enough.

I STILL haven't decided on who to use, though.

Speaking of PS2 Classics version of Odin Sphere, Atlus really needs to fix the icon. For some reason it shows the Greatest Hits boxart instead of the original. I know most people wouldn't care but stuff like this annoys me. :/

I am goddamn giddy right now. I haven't been this hyped since Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was announced. WOOOOOOO! And the Sorceress can refill her MP?! GODLIKE!

Wonder how local multiplayer will work in regards to say playing your character on someone else's console. Yeah, you can play online, but what if you dropped by and wanted to play a game right there and then with your character(s) and stats?

BTW, double dippin'!

Not perfect but good enough I think
Thank you.

also,I think it's crazy how the elf.is going.to have finite ammo.I'm hoping for arrows with elemental properties .. That would be great little game of managing .I'm Hong other characters have systems like that so it's not just a Run and smash square button = win.
also living the fact that the gameplay is out shinning the controversy of certain characters.

The art style really is tremendous. From the preview I'm liking the amount of depth this game seems to have.

Right now my main concern is that games like this in the arcade could be beat in 1 sitting, coin crunching style. I doubt this is the case but it could be very short but meant to be played over and over.

I just read the first post impressions.
I'm kinda almost ready to buy the game for vita & ps3...
I dunno why but i'm severly hyped everytime some post impressions and infos.

And i still don't know what classe to choose

Ps: the elf with limited arrows is a nice move

I think the PS2 classic has a fixed framerate on PSN.

PS2 version runs better but there are still some slowdown here and there.

But now it's more than playable :)

So, someone out there found some scans from another magazine with lots of interesting info. I'm not sure what the rules are for this sort of thing aside from "no posting scans", so I'll keep my mouth shut. I just figured I'd let folks know that more info is out there.

I was just thinking everyone has white hair save for the sorceress.

There are color swaps right? Isn't that what the dwarf imagine was about?

Yeah, Kamitani said that the Dwarf image was to show that the characters had palette swaps. Obviously this is to differentiate between players if two people pick Amazon or whatever.

Game with no leveling mechanics > Game with leveling mechanics, but with scaling > Game with leveling mechanics and no scaling.

People (with poor taste) love messing with a game's balance to be largely in their favor due to repetitive busy-work and developers love allowing it. Welcome to the nonsense that is the poorly applied "RPG" term.

I actually agree with this. Hell, if I could change something from Dark Souls, it would be to remove leveling (I realize this might not be a popular opinion). I don't like the idea of a game being easier or harder depending on how much time you spend grinding easy parts of it.

Guild Wars 2 is a pretty good example of scaling. It's pretty clear (and has even been stated) they'd rather have no leveling there or a short leveling curve, but wanted to please the leveling crowd as well, so they left in an extremelly well-crafted scaling mechanic (which actually scales YOU down). The only difference this makes in the end with regard to not having leveling at all, is that certain areas are off-limits until you've played enough. That's fine to me in GW2 since there's several times over the content needed to level up without grinding; I just hope that's the same in Dragon's Crown, but considering how repetition tends to be the weak point in VanillaWare games, I don't know... :/

I think the PS2 classic has a fixed framerate on PSN.

So does the European version of the original game, weirdly enough.

The Amazon video should be up tonight or tomorrow!

I can already tell that I'll prolly finish the game with all of them. The lack of infos regarding the EU release is disheartening though.

Oh shit. I just realized that in order to get the ending you probably have to finish the game with every fucking character, just like in OS. My hype plummeted close to zero.

Oh no! Forced to play a beat-em-up several times as a different character that changes the game experience drastically. The horror.

The same thing was necessary in odin sphere if you wanted to reach the true end.
And the same thing was required if you wanted to see the true end in muramasa too :)

In both games that stuff is well done and the multiples paths are part of teh gameplay and story. It's not a problem

Have you played OS?

Where you have to start from fucking level 1 every time (7 times overall), with a limited inventory? And you fight the same fucking enemies in the same fucking levels SEVEN times? And then have to beat the bosses in the right order to get the ending? What great fun it was.

I know, that's why I said my hype is close to zero now.
