That didn't stop the 360 and thats how MS sold so much 360s because of the RROD problem. Pretty sure some GAFFERS own more then 2 360s. I own 3 of them 2 dead.
Saddest thing of all.

I think I've read this before...
This motivated me to go through the recent posts of our favourite insider, here's a summary of all the truthfacts (can't guarantee the interpretation!):
- Dead Rising 3 = exclusive
- ALL XB1 titles must have smartglass features
- The only reason EA is killing online passes is because they are going with mandatory online activation
- MS is 6 months behind in software development
- Respawn's new game is a timed exclusive on XB1, may also be on PC
- XB1 used to be always online, changed to every 24 hours after outcry
- Dragon Age 3, Mass Effect and Battlefield 4 are not exclusive
- Primal Carnage: Genesis is not a good game (ok, that one is not a megaton )
The fact that all leaked info from the devkits was incorrect should be proof enough. Just like the video from wired showing the Os running on stripped down version of the console. Yet none of this is released to further the bs being spewed and allowing the populous to overreact to whatever info is thrown out, yet declaring any info released by Ms as false or twisting it into negative. I find it incredibly hard to believe that MS was not prepared and will again wait to see for myself.
Right, dominance one generation means nothing to future generations. I get sort of amused when folks insist sales in the us for the 360 mean the demand for the xbone is high.
It means absolutely nothing in the end, because the consoles are starting with more or less a blank slate.
I am still in shock at how big of a clusterfuck this is.
● The worst most, mis-communicated reveal in game industry history other than maybe Saturn.
● Once every 24 hour internet check just to be able to continue to play your games
● A horrendous proprietary used game system that gives pubs and Microsoft a 10% of the profits, thus ensuring the deals one can get on Used games are reduced and having less options for every gamer
● Complete inability to rent, lend or borrow games without paying a "fee", since every game must be installed. And the fee is the price of a brand new game, which Phil Harrison tells us to "think of it like a new game", because he is an abominable retard.
● Complete fucking tall tales and fabrications regarding the "Infinite Power of Cloud" which they did because...
● ...their system is a woefully underpowered trojan horse arbitrarily increased in price because of...
● ...a piece of shit dead-end gaming technology called "Kinect 2.0" which on top of being complete garbage for most genres, also is packed in with every system and...
● ...is also a horrendous invasion of privacy since it cannot be shut off without unplugging the system.
● A console which is also, after all this time, having massive eSRAM yield issues because Microsoft is caught rushing the One to the market.
● Also, contrary to the forward thinking Sony and - holy shit - Nintendo, they won't allow indies to self-publish. For no reason at all other than to be awkward, I suppose.
● And they wasted their reveal talking about TV, TV, TV, TV, TV to do a function that nobody in their right mind would do if they had a DVR, to talk about sports and Kinect and have only two real games at their reveal.
● And is now liberally peppering all their attacks with a unhealthy dose of aggressive arrogance.
● On top of that gigantic shit sandwich, they have now also canceled their post-E3 media roundtable, presumably because they're tired of being eviscerated and embarrassed non-stop since January 2013. Once again, because of shit they did and no one else.
● Plus their presentation of their OS at the media reveal was confirmed to be completely fake, which wouldn't have been terrible except the entire time of the reveal they were trying to convince people it was real. "See how fast this thing moves!?"
DID I MISS ANYTHING GUYZ? Because holy goddamn shit at this point. This has been without exception the most biblical epic failure of console reveals, even topping the PS3's $599.99 just for its sheer confounding, aimless nonsense since the beginning of 2013. Not a single day has passed by without some relentless bit of tortuously negative Xbox One news.
The kicker? This is ALL Microsoft's fault and they should have seen the reaction coming a mile away since the problems they introduced of their own free will has been eviscerated among gamers and the press for years now, to say nothing of things like the Sim City or Diablo III debacle.
The proof is in the pudding. Holy goddamn fuck
Seriously... Microsoft, just bite the bullet and delay the Xbone until next year. Get your hardware shit straighten out, have your development tools mature and launch with better or on par hardware and at a better price.
Lol seriously? Where is this idea that every bad thing Microsoft is doing Sony must also follow suit even coming from?
It seems a common theme in these threads "Microsoft does something bad/stupid", then some respond " but, but, but Sony will do it too, hecause its Microsoft. Sony cant be allowed any advantages because the illuminati say so!"
None of these types of issues have even been hinted at for Sony, not the always online, not the charging for PSN, not the always on camera, and for sure not issues like this. You would think with all this bullshit those leaks would be crawling out the woodwerk for Sony aswell...but nothing.
Microsoft has all the power though, nothing can stop Cthulu!

.
Look at the price reveal thread. Everybody thought 3DS was done.
MS shouldn't be too worried, they will sell out day one. Why?
Amir0x, that is quite the list. It's pretty damning too.
Can you source these? Not sure I've seen any details regarding this...
I saw this mentioned a few times, but I don't think is exactly truth. Most people thought the Vita looked good but not many, as far as I remember, thought it will sell like hotcakes.
Can't believe I'm probably going to own a Sony console....16 year old me is crying

What? I was really looking forward to that as well.
Are we ever going to get a decent dinosaur hunting game again?

If so, one advantage MS has is Xbox Live. PSN (like it or not) has never offered the same experience. Personally I find myself using Xbox Live less and less, but the dudebros love it. If Sony can make an equal experience with PS4 (headset bundling is a huge step), then maybe the dudebros will convert.

...what level of cognitive dissonance with this be?
I think anybody thinking that Microsoft would somehow dominate this upcoming gen are simply being shortsighted, but it is far from impossible that they could end up doing as good or even slightly better than is the case with the 360.
That said, Halo in decline? It's the best selling one in the franchise, and in my opinion, the best game in the franchise. I'm no fan of MP (always felt Halo MP was just hype, could never find what was so good about it), so I can't speak to whatever was done in that regard, but the campaign to me was incredible, and Master Chief and Cortana have honestly never been done more justice as characters than they were in Halo 4. Gears, I actually agree with you. I think that series has been in decline since after the first game. I thought the first one did some really nice things that hinted at some exciting future potential, but then with each sequel, it seemed to go in a direction that I thought wasn't to its benefit. But that's just me. Forza is a fucking amazing franchise. It's one thing to be a Gran Turismo fan, but to say Forza doesn't have shit on an unreleased game you haven't played? Forza has been competitive with Gran Turismo as a racing sim from day one, imo, even if they can't make nearly as awesome a trailer as PD .
And I think Gran Turismo has a more realistic looking art style, whereas Forza's is more stylized (some say cartooney, I disagree), but I think it looks great nonetheless. And the gameplay is amazing, so, again, I just don't agree with it not having shit on GT.
And you say you aren't counting them out, but you coulda fooled me with comments like that about a game as strong as Forza. Either way, as much we love to follow all this stuff, it's really all about the games at the end of the day. A lot of people simply don't care about a lot of side issues that they don't feel affect their core enjoyment of games. If the games lineup looks strong and the games themselves when people look at them in action gets people excited, then Microsoft is fine, and all the fire and brimstone just ends up being noise. To be honest, a lot of this Microsoft doom and gloom is remarkably reminiscent of the 360 before launch (even though few will admit that these days), and even reminiscent of the 360 shortly after launch. It's always near impossible to win a fight, much less even be in the discussion when you're busy punching at the heavens, and that's what Microsoft now finds itself doing against the PS4, much like they were doing when up against what was then viewed as a much more powerful Playstation 3 at the time that was more advanced in almost every way.
I think once both systems are out and released, and we are a year or two in, we'll have a look back at the build up to launch and hopefully learn some valuable lessons for future console transitions (no way, circle of life and all that jazz!) Now, admittedly, the PS4 is clearly the stronger console this time around. There's no denying this, and it isn't as complex to develop games for, but (and I've said this many times) Xbox One is also easier to develop for than the 360 was, and ultimately the games always have the final say. Games have been more responsible and instrumental to the success or failure of game platforms than any other factor, and that especially includes hardware specs.
Diving headfirst into every negative sounding rumor, completely working ourselves into a frenzy will easily make it look like there's a 5 alarm fire over at MS HQ. It isn't hard to do, I've seen it many times before. And like I said before, I still absolutely stand by what I said, nothing has changed since last night, but isn't it interesting how quickly the fact that a very similar thing was mentioned regarding possible gpu downclocks etc happening to the PS4 also, and yet that part of the rumor has been swept under the rug about as quickly as it popped up? Now, I genuinely believe thuway really heard this from somebody, and he said Sony devs told him that the PS4 is fine, even though someone else also told him that the PS4 could face downclocks also (something I don't see happening *my opinion*), but what exactly would Microsoft developers say? Would anything they have to say even mean anything at this point, or would it just be Microsoft devs doing what they are paid to do, and that's defending the console? It just seems negative news is always greeted with more wide open arms compared to the positive. That isn't to say no MS devs would have any criticisms of decisions made, but we are missing a pretty big part of the picture regarding Xbox One. Microsoft did their reveal, but they didn't exactly open up the floodgates. They just admitted the thing exists.
Well, the positive news is that E3 is 5 days away. Developers will talk on both sides and, best of all, we will see real games, even though some folks already seem prepared to disregard anything impressive shown by the Xbox One as simply smoke and mirrors running on some mystery hardware that couldn't possibly have anything to do with real Xbox One hardware. Nothing can be done about that. On to E3 it is!

Crying because you will own the vastly superior console with the best 1st parties on the planet? Seems weird to me.
Are you a gamer?
I tend to agree, but this gen transition is also the first one where players will want to carry their XBL/PSN accounts to a new console. Damn, what a surprise: Dude joined the day before the Microsoft Xbox One reveal.
The signal:noise ratio on these crazies is seriously out of control from all the insanity. How someone could post the above with a straight face after all the endlessly sourced posts and news stories factually proving otherwise is just...

At the time, both handhelds were $249.99. When Nintendo drastically cut price and started including free games, that obviously changed the equation.Look at the price reveal thread. Everybody thought 3DS was done.

Just to put things in perspective, this thread has more posts and double the views of the MS conference thread in less than a day.....

Hmm, all this shit about Xbox one that are hitting GAF right now can be true, but. Delayed game development, down clocking the CPU, lower GFLOPS, DRM, over heating, supply restriction, bad reveal, more expensive then PS4, TV TV TV etc. Well, all projects can have problems but this look like a meltdown on all fronts. Worst case senario in every risk analysis case of the project. So the question is what is true in all this problems. And on the other hand Sony doing everything right and have no problems with anything, hmm...! Well I think something is not right about all this negative posts about Xbox one. But only time can tell and bigger projects than this have derailed in the history so we will see.
You start with your trophiechievments I guess :{Is their any known concrete benefit that transfering existing XBL/PSN accounts will bring?

All i've learned from this thread is that the more insider info one has, the more inept one becomes at using their keyboard.
The fact that all leaked info from the devkits was incorrect should be proof enough.
Not to my knowledge. But some people will probably feel like they invested time in their account and will want to keep their gamercard and trophies, etc.Is their any known concrete benefit that transfering existing XBL/PSN accounts will bring?
