Hey there gaffers, just thought to share our new release, Bellboy, for all Android devices .

It's an action puzzle game which is free with no inApp crap. Feedback is more than welcomed as we expect to improve the game.

Really dig the art style.

So. Ive been looking for a while, but why isnt puzzle quest 1 available for andriod? I love that game.

All I can find is puzzle quest 2 which I found boring. :(

I've started playing puzzle craft again. For a free to play game it's really good. No annoying ads or iap spam. Great art style and generally good fun.

- Bards tail - RPG

Point of order, for the benefit of EvilKatarn:

It's the *Classic* Bard's Tale you want. The main Bard's Tale app isn't particularly like SMT, but it *comes* with ports of the earlier games, and those are the 3D dungeon crawlers you'd be after.

Region locking for mobile apps just baffles me. So does region locking in general, but for 1$ mobile games?

Puzzle and Dragons is the most baffling example. It's a free app and the developers are making millions of dollars every day, and yet they region lock the game.

Too much money is a bad thing to them I guess.

I think it has something to do with the paying audience. If a country doesn't have enough people who will engage in microtransactions then they'll just lose money on server upkeep.

Surely the fact that they're making millions per day can subsidize costs for servers all over the world? They will build audiences and necessarily earn more than just keeping it running in 2 countries.

It's still not available in the entire Europe and most of Asia, and I think there are more people who live there with smartphones than the countries the game is currently available in.

They will at least double their income if the game is available in all territories, like most games with IAPs are.

I blame it on the conservative nature of Japanese developers.

This item cannot be installed in your device's country.

Yay...

I'm not sure what's going on there. When I go to that link, it says it's not compatible with my S3, but I have it installed and it works just fine. Not sure if they changed it or something.

edit: oh, country. Still, I'm sure the apk will be available elsewhere.

If anyone is looking for an awesome tower defense game, then check out Bloons TD 5. It recently went on sale and right now it's only 99c, down from $2.99.

Rejoice!

Fighting Fantasy: Blood of the Zombies is free app for today on Amazon.

Nice, thanks. I thought those Fighting Fantasy apps were too expensive and didn't bother with them yet, but I'll get this one at least. If I really like it I might shell out for the Forest of Doom, if only for the pure nostalgia.

I really like what they did with the Lonewolf apps, so I'm looking forward to see these versions of the classic FFs. A quick glance shows it's more high budget, with music and animations, but honestly I'm OK with a simpler engine like the Lonewolf books if it's going to be cheaper.
This Zombie gamebook looks to be a recent one, I don't remember it from my childhood. Hope it'll be cool and not a lame attempt at cashing on the zombie trend, haha.

Too bad the Sorcery! ones are for iOS only (and apparently expensive). Those were among my favourites as a kid. :(

Sorry, but what do you mean by core? Different version of Mame from the one before?

Retroarch is basically a bunch of different emulators (or cores) in one package. You run the app, pick the core, and then the rom you want to run. I don't think it had a mame core before, did it? 0.o

Does anyone have any news on when FF: Tactics WotL (*NOT* 'S') will come out on Android? A few months ago squeenix said it would come out soon but nothing has happened yet?

Yea Scribblenauts is tablet only. Strangely enough, if you buy it from Amazon you can play it on phones too.

I started playing it last night. The first thing that happens when you launch the game (before even the main menu) is a pop up which asks whether you want to spend another $1 to buy more levels. And when you start the game, you get another pop up after just 3 levels asking you to rate the game 5 stars. Yea....

Any recommendations for good collectible card games? I know DoTP 14 is coming out next week, but I'm thinking about seeing what else is out there.

I don't want a constant money sink (which is why I'm wary of zynga and gameloft's offerings), I'd prefer a good single player option to at least get started, free is great but I'm not opposed to spending some money (maybe ~$10 total on the game?) Theme doesn't matter.

I have a nexus 7 and evo lte so should be able to play pretty much anything.

Just googling around shadow era seems like a good fit?
