I just want to say Brock Lesnar vs Punk has been built to perfection so far.

Makes the build ups to Brock vs. COO look so fucking bad every week. Punk is man enough to make Brock look like he's a BEAST while HHH would constantly just make sure each segment would give him a slight edge over Brock, and if he didn't get the edge he would demand sympathy from the crowd (which never came).
Bork=hulk
Punk=wolverine
Love it.

Just started watching G1 Day 4. They should just hand the belt to Karl Anderson after the match he managed to pull out of Tenzan after the trainwreck Suzuki/Tenzan match from Day 3. They should also just have every show in Osaka. The Osaka crowd makes everything 10x more fun.

Seriously. The entire show was incredible and the crowd was off the goddamn tank. Anderson really delivers and his match with Tenzan was brilliant.

I'm only an hour into Day 4 but all the matches have been great. Last one i saw was Ishii/Shibata and shit goddamn you guys were right, awesome match

Had to change my avatar. G1 has been the most enjoyable wrestling event I've watched since I was a seven year old at SummerSlam at Wembley, and I just have to honour it.

In regards to fav five commentators?
1. Kent Walton, the voice that I started on for wrestling and many other World of Sport.
2. Gordon Solie.
3. Scot Stanford. He makes me laugh.
4. William Regal. Proud of the knowledge and skill it takes to be a wrestler and he promotes it. Also I need to know more about his twin daughters who recently were separated after being conjoined for so many years. What happened to the female dwarf who was blackmailing Regal after all these years? Just what goes on at those techno dance raves he goes to with Justin Gabriel and Emma?
5. Jim Ross.
6. Honourably and just for this week, Kazuo Yamazaki, Soichi Shibata, Katsuhiko Kanazawa, Shinji Yoshino, Shinpei Nogami, Jushin Liger and everyone else who has done any commentary for G1. I wish you guys could understand what they were saying.

Also something to honour, the trailer for the Mid-South Wrestling DVD. http://youtu.be/q88PkaypAvg

Haha these are great. We need some gifs for grammar flubs on GAF.

And does anyone think it's odd that McMahon is making fun of Bryan's beard when Orton, who Vince will probably send in to cash it in, has the ugliest beard in the WWE?

WCW Thunder 4/22/98

Hogan is champion, Bret helped him, and Goldberg is the new US Champion.

The show, of course, starts out for a Hogan/Bischoff ramble session. Beefcake gets to repaint the title. Remember when he main evented Starrcade? It is claimed that everyone from Ted Turner down is afraid of Hogan and always have been. Hogan's voice is even more monotonous and WHOREASS than usual. And after a 10 minute rant, they cut to highlights of his rant from Nitro. Wat.

Disco Inferno vs Booker T WCW TV Championship

Book dominates. He's already hitting his 5MOD. Disco appears to have injured his leg on a drop down. SWERVE! Well, I'll be a son of a bitch! Piledriver. Disco isn't fucking around any more. He's a real wrassler. Well, he wasn't fucking around. He got smashed with a spinebuster, so that kind of ended things for him. 5MOD. Missile dropkick for the win.

Barbarian vs TAFKATAFKAPI

I swear to Christ, if Prince beats Barbarian, I will riot. Thankfully, this was a complete squash, with Barb beating the shit out of the injured leg before booting him in the face.

Vicious and Delicious vs Rick Steiner/Lex Luger

Oh noes. This is the neck injury match. Maybe I should gif it from every angle in super slow mo like WCW did for Giant's neck injury. Buff and Rick start out, with Rick kicking dat ass. Lex comes in with an awful flying ax handle. He tries to put Norton in the Torture Rack, but Buff broke it up. Rick gets a hot tag and throws everyone around. Virgil tries to hit Rick with a chair, but Scott stops him. Rick hits the bulldog, which you couldn't actually tell that Buff was injured from it until he wasn't moving, and Scott then hits Rick with a chair and puts Buff on top of him. The shot of the bulldog was so quick that it it looked like a normal bulldog. But then Buff wasn't moving and Rick was having a hard time trying to roll him over. Then Scott kind of rolled him over and Buff laid there with one arm curled up and talking. After the break, we're still in the ring with Buff. What the fuck, they have a stretcher that was actually a chair and Doug Dillinger had to get it flat. They show a replay in slow motion and it is much easier to see what happened. Buff's head jammed into Rick's body. Brain was particularly shaken up and went down to ringside. They can't get Buff out of the ring until an ambulance comes as they don't have the proper equipment to stabilize him. Are you fucking serious? They don't have just a straight gurney or neck brace in the entire building? For some reason, I'm loling at Scott Norton on a giant cell phone in the ring during this. Paramedics finally arrive. This has been going on for 15-20 minutes total.

TO THE NITRO. Recap of Hogan/Savage. This is quite awkward. This is most of the match, but they're still talking about Buff.

Horace Boulder vs Evan Karagias

Tenay knows all about Horace because he watches a lot of tapes from Japan. Even is unrecognizable as he's wearing trunks, not dancing, and doesn't have braids. DDP comes in and hits a Kanyon Cutter OUTTA NOWHERE! BANG! He also hit one on Evan and the ref. BANG BANG BANG! "I didn't come here to bang you, you, or even you." Lol. He calls Raven out. Raven walks half way out and walks to the back. DDP brings up Raven's mom and sister. Raven is gonna get BANGED whenever he gets in the ring with DDP. Lol. I really can't believe no one questioned DDP screaming about banging dudes every week.

ifmHltbO26Pkm.gif

TO THE SCHIAVONE. Randy Savage comes to the ramp. Savage lets us know he is just getting started, and then calls Hogan scum and Bret Hart a LOSER. He's sick of Bret bitching about being screwed for "a year and a half". The screwjob happened about 6 months ago. Not a year and a half ago. He's bitching about Bret being a con man, being over paid, and for being the biggest MARK on the face of the earth for his own publicity. He's now the number one man on the Macho Man's Intergalactic Hit List. I hope a xenomorph, predator, engineer, George Jetson, and Galactus are on that list. And I want to see every single match.

Goldberg vs Mike Enos WCW US Championship

Goldberg's first defense. I question the validity of Mike's contendership. Total squash.

ibwVrMJxTtTPV0.gif

Sting vs Scott Steiner

Lol, Scotty immediately has Sting near death. I thought maybe after losing the title that he'd be less of a chump. He does make a quick come back and sends Scott to the floor. Word on Buff is that he is moving around and is okay. Lee is annoying excited. Low blow. Tiger bomb. Sting comes back and hits the Sting Splash. Deathlock is on. KONNAN hits the ring. Oh fuck. I thought I was going to get a show without him. The rest of the B-Team hit the ring. Rick Steiner runs out. Scott runs away. The Giant makes the save. Sting talks about how every week feels like it ends the same. Why, yes it does. He then starts talking up Kevin Nash for some reason. About jokes and stuff. Sting has a spot for Nash. Not his dog Spot. Not his liver spot. Not Arn Anderson's spot. But a spot at Slamboree in a tag match with Giant against The Outsiders. Giant then runs the ropes for some reason.

Pretty weird show since Buff's injury took up a good 20 minutes, which was then followed by about 10 minutes of the Hogan/Savage match.

Smackdown spoilers:
* Randy Orton beat Rob Van Dam in the opener. RVD missed the frogsplash and Orton came right back with a RKO. The match went just under 13 minutes.

* MizTV with The Miz, AJ Lee and Big E Langston is up next. Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn end up interrupting. Because he's host, Miz makes Ziggler and Kaitlyn vs. Big E and AJ for SummerSlam. AJ and Big E jump Kaitlyn and Ziggler but they come back and get the upperhand.

* Fandango beat Kofi Kingston with the top rope leg drop in under 5 minutes.

* Daniel Bryan beat Wade Barrett by submission. Barrett came out fully shaven after the attack from Bryan on RAW.

* Kane quickly squashed 3MB in a handicap match after chokeslamming Jinder Mahal. The Wyatt Family appeared on the big screen and Bray Wyatt cut a promo about their Ring of Fire match at SummerSlam.

* Christian beat Alberto Del Rio in just under 20 minutes. This was a non-title match and he won with a roll up. After the match, Del Rio attacked Christian but he countered. Christian left Del Rio laying in the ring.

* Damien Sandow came out with his Money in the Bank briefcase and a referee. Before the bell rang, Cody Rhodes ran down and came leaping off the top rope to stop Sandow from cashing in.

I've enjoyed 2000-2001 WWF again, but unless you're in the Main Event you're not getting more than 5 minutes to wrestle. Main Event gets 10 minutes. However, you don't really care as the shows are so fast paced in general, and are interesting.

Who's the short guy with the round glasses? I've seen him on tons of stuff over the years, I always like his style. *edit, on the right;

Liger was pretty great this year. No idea what he was saying, but you could tell he was super impressed with Ishii/Shibata. Same goes for Chono on day 1, I got a few translations and it was cool to see how much he was putting over Karl Anderson.

A. I basically was straight edge before WCW. I'm 25 and hadn't been drunk even once until January of this year.

B. I'm very close to packing up all my shit and moving from Indiana to the Boulder, CO area. Like, emailing apartment complexes and what not. I have about $14K in the bank that should last me a bit while I look for a job. But I need to restart my life. Or really start it for the first time. And I think Boulder is the place. I can fit just about everything I own in my little paid off car. I can get a new PC desk and TV stand from Goodwill or something once I get there. And deal with an air mattress for a few weeks.

I've been in a awful apartment before. I've been in a good one with no cable/internet/heat before. I can suck it up and start acting like a god damn adult and work two jobs if I really have to.

I was stupid and moved into an apartment with 2 girls I didn't even know when I was 20 and didn't even bang either of them. Then they both moved out and shafted me with the rent this place. So I moved to a tiny place that I'm pretty sure was a converted garage that my buddy who was moving lived in. And I had all my bills including rent around $350 a month. My electric bill was under $20.

I don't fuck around with frugality. My ancestry is Jewish and it definitely came out when I was on my own. All generic food, no lights on, heat off unless it got into the 30s or lower. I didn't give a fuck.

I think Tampa Bay is a better fit. No taxes + wrestlers.

Also, it is Florida and they have giant fucking snakes all over the place. I don't like snakes.

that's gotta be the most depressing thing i read all day.

Well, one of them had a mustache and was batshit insane and also ended up stealing a bunch of my shit when I went to Rome for a week, and the other had a boyfriend who came over all the time.

AJPW confirmed they will be returning the Triple Crown Championship to Makoto Baba, widow of the late, great Giant Baba, who formed All Japan in 1972;

CeM3yWO.jpg

The Triple Crown is made up of the NWA United National Championship, PWF Heavyweight Championship & the NWA International Heavyweight Championship. It was first united in 1989 after many attempts to unify the belts, when Jumbo Tsuruta defeated Stan Hansen. Now, as the belts are old and damaged, All Japan will return the belts to Baba's widow, before making a new championship belt. It will be a single belt, unfortunately, but will still be called the Triple Crown and still represent the classic titles that formed the Triple Crown.

Mutoh had said in the past that he wanted to melt down the Triple Crown to make a new belt, but I really did not like that idea, so I'm glad to see that one of the most prestigious championships in wrestling history won't be lost.

So Boot, what's the story with Toru Yano pimping his DVD all the time?

No idea, I think he just wants everyone to buy his DVD, lol. Perhaps he realises he's not going to win shit, so he uses as much of his screen time as possible to sell DVDs.

Also, from what I can tell, Yano forces the ring announcer to shill his DVD during his introduction.

After his win too on day 4, heh.

Yes, but when I asked who Bad Luck Fale was, you said "a fatass" (I'm sure it was really funny to people in the know) and Boot actually took the time to explain it.

You guys were right, Ishii and Shibata kicking the ever living crap out of eachother was pretty fucking awesome. Amazing match.

Shield were supposed to face Big Show and Henry, so there's that. RVD is likely going to be added to the WHC match. Orton is on cash-in duty.

That leaves Axel and Sheamus and nobody gives two shits about either of them, so that's okay.

Fantastic work by both guys and the crowd really helped sell it - their reactions were freaking perfect throughout, plus I love it when the commentators go ballistic. The finishing stretch was just about the best in any match I've seen this year, sheer fucking madness and I really bought both guys frantic need to put the other man away, they were so beat up, every move seemed like it could end it. Amazing match, everyone should watch it;

Tomohiro Ishii vs Katsuyori Shibata - (NJPW 08/04/13)

I don't think I've seen a stiffer match than this.
