Playstation.Blog: "Gamescom 2013 is Coming!"

That PSN racer has to be Ridge Racer.

It definitely could be and I hope it gets the proper announcement it deserves.

But I think from afar it looks too much like Driveclub, i know it's totally different but I think a wipeout or playstation all star karting or LBP karting would show a more diverse line up

That would be my guess too. ND makes Uncharted 4 to set up the direction they want the franchise to go from here and then another studio takes over after that.

Yeah, I could see that too -- sort of how the reins of Sly Cooper were passed from Sucker Punch to Sanzaru Games.

Of the 30 in development (not just talking about the first year
games now), I believe the next Sly will count as one of them, as well as an AAA Stealth/Action game. Also in the works is another racer, but that will likely be digital only (or I should say is digital only as of this moment). That one is probably not one of the 30 though.

Verendus is dropping the bombs, whoa. New Sly is always welcome!

I wonder if the stealth action game is Syphon Filter or a whole new IP Hnggggggggg

i just don't buy the "GG can't show their new thing because KZ isn't out yet" angle at all.

if it's a NEW IP then it has nothing to do with KZ and it won't somehow be stealing thunder from it. it doesn't matter if it's from the same dev. that's like saying sony can only announce one 1st party game at a time, and only right after the previous one releases.

there's zero harm in them at least dropping a The Order 1866-esque teaser on us at Gamescom and then giving us new info near the end of the year.

also it's GameCOM. not CON. COMCOMCOM

so if this show is as big as previous shows can it then be officially stated as a bigger event for Sony than E3? Because ever since 09 their Gamescom conferences have been gaining rapidly in quality vs their E3 one's. Not saying the E3 conferences are bad but I'm more and more switching hype levels between the 2. This year should be good

Even if Housemarque, media molecule and the one or two indie titles are all under the WWS umbrella which i don't think they are, your list is still 7 exclusives short that need to launch at or before holiday 2014 and thats assuming all those games release before holiday 2014 aswell.

I really think there are going to be 5-6 PS4 first party games announced at gamescom.

I agree. I'd be shocked if there are fewer than that. It's funny how prone people have been to underestimate Sony game announcements. For the Feb 20th event everyone was predicting Sony wouldn't show more than 1 or 2 games (and even then, only trailers). I kept pointing back to the "NGP" reveal in 2011 and saying they were probably going to show quite a bit. At this point we know only a small fraction of the PS4's planned lineup and there is no reason for Sony to hold back. The only thing MS adherents have left to point at as an advantage is a longer list of announced games and Sony is positioned well to make even that look bad through Gamescom and TGS.

I wish at least one of our insiders could give some vita related hints too....maybe there's nothing good to share :( I can't genuinely get hyped for gamescom because I feel I will come out of it disappointed just like with E3, as a vita owner.

I don't want to even think of the possibility of teams like Sony Bend also working on multiplat or home console titles. Not going to be a happy camper if it happens

What does DemonNite say (a SCE employee IIRC)? "thats a nice theory to have". I wonder if Bend are working on Uncharted 4 and if the Uncharted 3 team is working on something new. Hmmmm......

Hmmmm interdasting.

It would make sense. Sony has a history of letting smaller devs prove themselves to them before letting them loose with the big boys.

I don't see why the ND structure wouldn't be the same as SSM (2/3 teams with an additional support team) SSM is supporting the Order, ND could be supporting Bend with UC4 while the 2 ND teams get to work on IP's they want to. In ND's case though from what I've read 1 team is dedicated to TLoU DLC atm, while the other is working on????

Damn I'm getting hyped.

Yeah, it sucks to be a Vita Owner. I am really getting worried about how 2014 wil turn out for the system.

yeah :S They seems to be announcing more games for PS3 than Vita nowadays. It's disheartening. Brushing off legit complaints by people like Shuhei and Shahid doesn't help matters either.

I expect 2 new PS4 games revealed, tops. MM and GG are the most likely candidates, but I seriously doubt GG are going to show their new IP yet.

Even though SSM and GG have two teams now, the bulk of the production staff are/were occupied with GoW:A and KZ:SF. These past few years they've probably been prototyping the new IP with a small team before moving to full production. New IPs require more upfront development time with a smaller team, unlike sequels...I expect SSM's next game will be the big reveal at next year's E3.

Not having any major expectations.

Rest is going to be about launch date and more info on launch window games.

Honestly all I really care about is KZ:SF looking polished as hell with an immensely exciting multiplayer component. Will shuttup the haters saying PS4 has a weak launch lineup.

Do we know who staffs these additional teams? I'm curious about new hires.

If they're going to have 20 games in year 1, those have to be announced between now and the VGAs. Not often you see games announced at E3 and out on shelves in the same year. Even with smaller PSN titles that rarely happens.

Personally I think GC will be way more hype than a lot of you are expecting.

Exactly my thoughts. Although 5 games already announced leaving 15 games. I hope more than 3 games will be revealed at Gamescom and more or less in TGS. And remaining will be dropped overtime next year, probably every month?

Could this be Stig's game?

Last Friday, Sony Computer Entertainment America registered the domain "helldiversgame.com." The Helldiver was a bomber aircraft employed by the US Navy during World War II, so perhaps "Helldivers" or "Hell Divers" could be an air combat game. Or if Sony wants to be incredibly literal, the title could be a reference to diving into the underworld and demon stuff.

I'd be pretty surprised if it actually turns out to be an air combat game. I would be down for it though if it actually turns out to be from Santa Monica.

God's had his chance.
I need a proper "Guns loaded" gif for this shit ... like perhaps Jehuty powering up the particle cannon .. or the coastline defense guns from FF7 ramping up to fire..

So PS4hype right now it's insanity. SO. CLOSE.
