Sony's ship has been sealed more so then before. They were the leakiest MFers out there for years

This E3 nothing was leaked from there show. I guess not telling even their own devs anything makes it hard to leak info

I still remember the leaked PS3 Slim, PSP Go, and early prototype Vita stuff shown. Even Playstation All Stars was leaked when someone posted the image on Twitter. It's surprising nothing from their E3 leaked. Maybe Sony had to add more restrictions to what developer's knew.

Well, the PS3-era SONY had a lot of leaks.
The PS1 and PS2 era ....man...the SONY ninjas were incredible back then.
Nearly no leaks at all. A lot of suprises and top secret stuff.
It seems they are back this time with the PS4 :)

I don't. Yields have been low for the console? That only means one of three things are happening. Release date is going to be late in the year to ensure sufficient supply in key markets (think end Nov at the absolute earliest, probably closer to mid Dec.), the ACTUAL reason for the delay in those 8 markets was to bolster supply to meet demand in key markets for their original release date to ensure that it doesn't slide, or the release date is pushed to 2014, like we saw in that earlier thread. Either way, ruh roh.

...now CBOAT should comment on that Oct 21st. PS4 thread. :p

US has to be no later than November. If MS has to pull units or delay launches elsewhere, they'll do it to hit that date in the US.

I wonder if they might be forced to stagger the launch even with this reduction in markets? eg November for US, December everywhere else?

MS' big mistake was announcing how many countries and which ones at E3. They should have just said 'US and Europe for 2013' and left the rest until they had a better picture of how things were shaping up

Sony is officially taking preorders (with money deposits, promoting banners, Facebook promo action, etc.) in Poland. I'm sure the same happens in many tier 3-or-whatever countries. The preorder says explicitly 2013.

Same in Croatia. We have launch price in domestic currency, preorders through official distributor, etc. Date should be known on Gamescom, but it is #2013 everywhere.

Same in your northern neighbor country (well, same company is covering both markets), we have preorders stacking up and 3 of those will get PS4 for free. As I heard, there will be no problems getting one console on launch day.

Bundy: for 1 € you get around 7,4 kuna

PS3-era was the birth of social media, so it's understandable to that plugging leaks is harder than ever, that said it was really impressive that even with that factor in play, nothing much if at all leaked out of Sony for E3.

Yeah, I know.
But I need the official PS4 Kuna price :D

3999kn I think, but I saw somewhere that preorder price will be 3699-3799. Not confirmed though...

btw, one retailer in Serbia lists PS4 preorder at 45.999rsd (400 euros) which is ridiculously cheap when compared to PS3 launch which was around 700 euros I think... It's probaly a placeholder tho. And yes, we will have it in 2013 also.

Just like Sonys silence meant:-

They had the same DRM
Their Apps are behind a paywall
They have the same amount of ram reserved for the OS
They are going to cost the same
They are going to have a mandatory camera

Stop it. Its embarrassing. At this point what microsoft is doing is no indication of what sony is doing, for better or worse.

People didn't learn with all of those, they're not gonna learn now.

So how much ram does the system reserve ? Last I read it was more than the xbox one. Seems strange to list that as a positive to sony's silence.

But again you also leave off the list Charging for multiplayer. Remember for years it was a rallying point as to why buy the ps3 over the xbox 360 ...

Its interesting how quickly gaf and the internet in general has swallowed that load from Sony. Now its never brought up , instead its about apps behind a pay wall.

But I guess as you were trying to point out , any port in a storm right ? It goes both ways.

I as a pc gamer actually liked the DRM ms was going to introduce. So I would have been happy if the ps4 had the same. But then again I don't plan on buying a retail game on my one .

Thats interesting because the PS4 has never been reported to use less than 5gb of ram for games.

The Amount of Memory used for games is currently unknown; Digital Foundry claimed that Games could use 4.5GB of ram for a game with an additional 1GB available of 'flexible memory' using a mixture of 512MB ram and 512MB pagefile. However this has been disputed by developers and Insiders alike, from retro city rampage claiming it was "Absolutely False" and Sony insiders hinting very heavily at 6GB is currently being used by games in Development.

Even the very lowest estimates are 5gb of ram and 512mb page file, this was very quickly squashed by many devs and sony insiders.

But please show me a link of anywhere stating less than 5gb of ram from even a semi-respectable source, I await your answer.

I, as PC gamer, appreciate the fact that I can use my PC (including my Steam library) even when there's no internet connection. For example, I like playing CivV on long train rides on my laptop.

So, wtf? Why would you, as a PC gamer, like the ridiculous DRM restrictions MS was going to introduce? There were absolutely no benefits for consumers, only complete control and marketplace exposure for MS. And before it comes up again: no, it was nothing like Steam.

As a PC gamer, I thought it was bullshit since it was nothing like the DRM on PC.

But then again, you knew that; you have a bad habit of making false comparisons.

I truly believe Sony had to charge for MP to compete, PSN needs the investment as IMO its not up to XBL standard & what's the point of having the statistically stronger platform if the online portion is weaker? PSN needs the investment which Sony acknowledged when revealing MP was behind a paywall.

You are a funny guy mate. Considering the reaction to the announcement, most people didnt expect Sony to introduce paid multiplayer and while its an understandable business decision, it still fucking sucks.

Btw, You didnt need to to tell me you was a PC gamer. Most of the most arrogant defenders of original Xbox one plan are and they seem to forget that a whole world exists outside their narrow minded view of what gaming should be.

Anyway, I refuse to get drawn in these ridiculous fanboy debates. I am a consumer. My loyalty is to my wallet above all else. I want the best hardware and preferred software with least restrictions for the lowest amount of money. I dont give a shit who provides it, be it Sony Microsoft or Nintendo. I cannot understand any grown adult that does not feel the same. You have more time on your hands than me my friend.

Good news: literally nothing has changed for you. You can still download games and play them off the hard drive.

I can't believe some people still think the "Wow" thing is referring to a positive. CBOAT already said the September-wow related to an "app+deal that fell through" at the last minute. Think NFL or something along those lines, though I don't see anyone really wow-ing over Fantasy Football disappearing.

But physical disks won't be linked to your account anymore.
Now the games are still separated and not like they planned it to be where physicals were just data and license holder when the license was linked to your account you could throw away the disk or not be bothered to change disk when switching games.

I was thinking TV. Something like Comcast or Sky telling Microsoft to go screw.

Note: This speculation was pulled directly from my transverse colon.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
But physical disks won't be linked to your account anymore.

I am still wondering why they don't just provide both models and let the individual user decide which one he want's to use. As far as I can judge it, there is also no reason to enable/disable the old DRM model for individual games (and by extension the 24h check-in if at least one game is used in this way).

Hi
But since CBOAT mentioned the Wow in the context of tv/apps features as opposed to anything gaming-related, your colon might just be onto something. (Not hopefully literally.)

While not really an app or deal, I wonder if it might be the whole Snap thing itself. Unlikely, but what a Wow.

eastmen said he wasn't going to be buying retail anyway.

Because you could buy the disc install it as a digital title and then give the disc to your friend who doesn't have online checks and he could play from discs.

CBoaT never claimed a downclock, other insiders did. He only said that there were yield problems which is apparently true.

Sure, but the device-independent library and the sharing plans could still be implemented optionally for digitally downloaded games.

Upclock downclock sideways clock, who cares when the OG clock was never known. Further, because that number was never known, this upclock could just be PR. Thats the problem when there are no specs beyond 'billi-yons and billi-yons' of transistors.

They clarified in the recent sharing memo that the library part will exist, as well as the current two person sharing system. Nothing on the 10 people/family sharing plans, which means they are unlikely to be there at launch, if ever.

They already are to an extent on PS3 and Xbox 360.

They will also be implemented fully on PS4 and XB1.

Microsoft sold you something you already had.

Well comcast has their own advanced tv box, which allows for voice powered searching etc..and its called the X1 of all things...maybe something to this.

If they lost their NFL deal it would be sad and funny.com Sad in that it was their 'Murica! push all boiled down into one app, and funny cause no one gives 2 shits about something they spent 4 bazillion on.
