Never underestimate the power of the maid.

Maid power is one of the strongest thing of the universe.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OVA 05
For a guy that calls his stand the emperor he sure is a coward.
Hanged man battle was very cool especially the final part of it.
Things are about to get real judging from the ending.

Edit:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OVA 06
This is now JoJo of the living dead. Quite the cliff-hanger ending too.
Girl's nuts btw if that wasn't clear already. Polnareff, awesome though he may be, is quite thick.

Moretsu Pirates/Bodacious Space Pirates Episode 15: Yes indeed so begins the wacky fun time misadventures of the Substitute Bentenmaru Pirate Crew. This episode we view their clunky attempts to pilot a custom pirate vessel and many hijinks did ensue before getting tings righted. Indeed much more interesting to me is how the most high-pitched Pirate crew in the quadrant is going to pull off an actual pirate heist.

Looks like another headset of mine is broken. Fuck. Even if I take care of them they bust out on me way too quickly.

Yeah I do hate that stuff. Shit, I think I'm forced to buy one since the spare I was given are being wonky in the left ear bud (WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE LEFT ONE)

UPDATE on last nights hijinx

Well that was pointless.

Well what if
they didn't know that they were killing people ?

And that's it really , aside for one , they are as pure as snow.

That's really okay though? You were partially responsible for 150 million people dying, but you were sad, so okay.

Thanks for the list! I killed off my Netflix sub a while ago because Prime + Crunchyroll had me covered on both ends, don't think I'll be going back to Netflix any time soon.

Borderless yellow subs on Sengoku Basara are kinda ugly.

Is there such a thing as yellow subs that aren't ugly?

Seems that Liden Films (Aiura, co-production on Senyu.) got contracted to make a short animated PV for manga series Yamada and the Seven Witches. As I'm sure you've seen, there's currently a live-action drama adaptation being aired, but no other news on any other adaptations yet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_n_k5nNA3A

It's already noticeable in the manga, but this makes it even more apparent how close Yoshikawa's art style is to Mashima's.

An anime of this would be sweet. Has there ever been an anime and live action adaptation of something running simultaneously?

Monogatari 08:

Chibi Hanekawa BANZAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I guess we're really doing the whole
paradox/ "Oh shit I dun goofed" thing
but I really like the bent that Nisioisin brings to it
"The entire world was annihilated" instead of like "Oh noes, I'm not dating Senjougahara!" or "Oh noes, I picked Hanekawa instead!"

Oh and

Not-as-chibi Shinobu BANZAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Based Shaft/etc.

Monogatari S2 8 (Kabuki 2)

In this episode, we learn
Loliragi is indeed an equal opportunity pedophile, Shinobu is also a pedophile, Loliragi hasn't read a lot of time travel stories to prevent him from making bad decisions,
and also that
saving little girls from speeding trucks leads to world annihilation.
Who knew?

Sengoku Basara S2 1

The first 12 minutes or so of this episode is like an absolutely perfect transition into the second season. It picks up right at where the first season ended, you get a taste of the crazy ass action that was present in S1, then it's all extinguished when Toyotomi appears and puts on such a display of power that everyone else feels diminished in comparison. It's beautiful as it sort of avoids power creep of the characters and sets him at the top with everyone else looking up through tthe shadow he casts overs them.

Then there's the Katakura stuff where he puts a plan in place to save all the non-Toyotomi forces. He's always keeping this watchful eye on the battle behind him during the fight with Hanbei and Toyotomi, baiting them just far enough for things to work. His ignoring Date's command to not interfere is just the best when he not only ignores it, but he also attacks from Date's blind side so that Date is unaware of it. I think it's implied Toyotomi couldn't attack Date directly as a result and sent his attack between them, likely saving Date.

The parting shot of Hanbei glaring at Katakura with anger then admiration completes it all and effectively sets up the latter half of the episode which I didn't bother to rewatch. I can watch the beginning of this one all day though. I know that because I spent hours doing it one day. :(

Wolf's Rain 2

I really like the world design. It has the right mix of familiar and alien that makes for a successful alternate-Earth setting. It bares some resemblance to steampunk in its mixture of antique and futuristic technology and aesthetics, but instead of reaching back to the 19th century it takes inspiration from early 20th century Eastern Europe, a time and place I haven't seen much use of in these sorts of retro-future settings. At the same time, the architecture is extended into strange patterns and ruined fragments that at times look like something from an alien planet. It's evocative despite the weaknesses of the early digital composition.

I wouldn't bother watching the original. God knows I haven't and I was engrossed with the new one last night.

It's not exactly remaking the original Rozen Maiden anime. Here's the situation: there are two Rozen Maiden manga series, separated by a break. The prior seasons of Rozen Maiden roughly adapted the first series while making several changes and eventually going in an anime-original direction. The current season summarizes the first manga series in its first episode and then moves on to the second manga series for the rest of its run. No prior knowledge of the franchise is needed to watch it.

Whaaaa.
Avdul returning from the dead holy shit.
predicted the
old lady antics, also poor Pointseff locking that toilet. Looked gross
. This JoJo is no Joseph but the tactics this episode was cool. Still ugly though and I feel it could be so much better.
Anyway it's time.

Wolf's Rain is, I believe, set somewhere that's supposed to be like an alternate Russia. All the writing is in Cyrillic, as you've probably noticed. I might be fanwanking this up as Wikipedia has just reminded me of this, but I believe the choice of location may have something to do with the fact that the Japanese wolf, now long extinct, was apparently descended from Siberian wolves.

When I first watched Wolf's Rain, my computer couldn't handle the high motion sequences in the OP - so the first shot, when the camera pans across the fence, and then when Kiba's running right to left about midway through, went all juddery. I should really rewatch it now...

Unfortunately it seems Wolf's Rain wasn't one of the Bandai titles license rescued by Sentai or Funi earlier this month. I would have half expected Funi to get it - it doesn't really fit what I think of as the Sentai "ethos". Ah well.

Wolf's Rain is not set in an alternate Russia, but yes the written language in the show is Russian. I think there's a reason for that.

Real Spoilers Hosanna DO NOT READ:
If I recall correctly, the setting of the show isn't even Earth. It's a planet which the aristocrats landed on to colonize, and in the process wiped out much of the indigenous population of native people and shapeshifting wolves. The aristocrats are probably Russian colonists from a future Earth which explains the culture which was established on the planet.

Moretsu Pirates/Bodacious Space Pirates Episode 16: Yea, I can say with little doubt that this was overall one of the weakest episodes of the series thus far, that was not piracy, that was dinner theater with an added tone of awkwardness, though it was nice to see Lynn finally get a pay off for having an actual personality and chracter traits and such by launching the next part of this arc. Hopefully the next episode has some semblance of diginity.
