He wasn't being arrogant. He saw the board exploded with ps vita tv and he just mentioned it. If anything, he thinks it is a good idea imo

How was he being arrogant. He was just commenting on the news. There is nothing negative in what he said.

Literally nothing negative - contextwise, 'ok then' sounds like 'I don't care'.
Knowing the stance of many people on GAF, this may be treated as arogance, regardless of motives.
Coming back from -1000 rep score to around 0 may take some time, so better cater for haters, that's his job isn't it

Jeez guys, no need to treat Mr. Nelson like new fish.

Nope. Just prepping for Xbox One launch. Reading their news now. Vita TV? ok then.

That said, I found this interesting. It really highlights how scattered Sony's approach is getting. So, you watch TV on you Vita TV, and you play games on your PS4? Couldn't that .... *ahem* .... be realized on ONE device?

It just seems like different decisions, but it does seem to be more clear now that Xbox is favoring an all-inclusive approach, and that Sony is focusing on many of the same things the Xbox One does, and sometimes gets flak for, just to a different capacity.

I think Larry seems like a cool guy, he comes across as very amiable and doesn't take himself too seriously.

Welcome to GAF fella!

Yes. You can swing the fence both ways. As long as people understand that then they need to keep their own feelings in check.

I think it's just because I read it in his voice.

And when someone simply says "Ok then" to response to something like that, it's usually done in a snarky way. A way of saying "LOL who gives a fuck".

Maybe I'm wrong *Shrugs*. But that's how other people use it on the internet.

That's called options. No need to buy a 500$ device for something that can be done for 100$.

Given that tone of a text-based message isn't as accurately conveyed as other forms of communication, I can understand thinking that it could appear a little dismissive. However, I think that requires one operating from preconceived notions wherein no benefit of the doubt is being given, as it could just as easily be an acknowledgment of new information that hasn't been processed and contextualized. Given that, I don't think there's any need to jump on those specific two words.

Great start coming in and being arrogant.

It's a kinder reaction than I had when they revealed it last night. I shut it down in disgust and went to bed before they could even really show the thing. Granted my patience for having my time wasted at 4am is a lot less than most other times.

Welcome to GAF Larry,

Personally I was a big 360 fan but the XB1 reveal kinda pissed me off, that said the recent moves you guys have made are helping the situation.

I'm annoyed that my lifestyle at present only affords me one opportunity to upgrade to next gen day one, had you guys revealed the XB1 in its current state I'd be there as I'be loved my time with XBL but I'm with the other team for "now".

Anyway here's my question,

If you had one more move/change/add to the XB1 to be more appealing to your customer base what would it be?

Thanks.
the only possible answer is ditch kinect and launch a 349 dollar/euro xbox one.

Exactly, but Sony are dividing their focus. "We'll support TV here, and handheld gaming here, and PS4 here" whereas Xbox are in a position where they can say "We've got the Xbox One, and we can support Microsoft devices with Xbox properties. Our focus is in this one, all-encompassing device".

I understand what you are saying with options, but if you divide your customer base enough it's going to be difficult to support any one area. 'PSVita TV owners, PS4 owners, PS4 owners with PS Eye cameras, PS Vita owners' whereas the Xbox division has their focus squarely on 'Xbox One owners' in the coming future. It's just different ways of doing things, but I just thought it was interesting that the PS4 gets billed as more gamer focused, which I suppose is true, but these other devices sort of negate that.

What's your blood pressure typically Derrick?

This one goes out to Major Nelson, but if anyone else knows the answer feel free to help me out.

From what I understand, the "infinite power of the cloud" that the Xbox One harnesses is basically Microsoft's Azure servers, right? Aren't those servers available for anyone to use, given that they pay the licensing price? If so, what gives the Xbox One an advantage over any competing product or service given that they can be using the same cloud services?

I kind of feel sorry for him. Literally hundreds of posters ready to dissect his every word to whip up some outrage/controversy. He does have some serious balls to willingly walk into this, though. If anything good comes of it, it will be better than expected!

@Major Nelson.

Any plans on bringing something to the dashboard for Clans? People that play together on COD, BF, Gears and so on? Any type of easy clan tab that shows stats of what games are played and stuff like that?

Thanks for taking the time to answer if ya do.

Some need to look up the definition of arrogance...forget it, the hate blinds you.

Stay sensible and don't let people get the better of you.

As for Major Nelson, I'll just be upfront now, and tell him it'll be an uphill battle to convince me (and probably others) that they're doing anything to benefit me as a potential consumer.

So stay humble and don't make ambiguous posts, because people WILL interpret them badly. The goodwill isn't free flowing at the moment.

How do they negate that PS4 is gamer focused? Every one of those devices has its own focus. What does one device focus on have nothing to do with the other devices.
