Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds NYCC Trailer

it really just feels like the low detail models retain the same feeling as the sprites from a LTTP, i'm sure its intentional to stay true to the art design and feel of the SNES entry.

As with the recently released Mario 3D world trailer 2, i feel these games are both showing much stronger closer to release.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but is not most of the game from the top down perspective and the camera is relatively far away from the models? Does the model actually matter that much? I'd think not.

Link's design looks brilliant. The promo art of him didn't grab me at all, but seeing the in-game model close up really did it for me. People seem to be complaining that the models look really low poly, but that's probably because they've decided on a way more elegant character design that doesn't need so much round detail. It's a huge improvement over the OoT 3ds model in my mind.

I don't know why but I have no desire to play this one. I hope it is received well, and if so I'll probably bite at some point.

Game is starting to look pretty neat. Only thing I don't like too much is Link's design and voice.

Visuals are looking nice in some areas, and at 60 FPS too. :)

And I read on Go Nintendo that if you preorder this game at GameStop you get Oracle of Ages for free. OoS is the only Zelda game I haven't played.

Looks like I'm getting this. :D

I may end up buying a 3ds for is game, and the only thing putting me off at this point is th emain villain :/

I guess I'm just a big Ganon fan....hope he shows up later, since I've seen enough of the metro sexual wizards in recent games.

No, only on the classic Wii VC at the moment.

Wow. Well surely that will change before release... It would be stupid to not take advantage of the sequel releasing soon.

I've never played A Link to the Past before, I want to play it before this sequel but I'm wondering if I should play it after now just in case I get Zelda fatigue (or don't have time to get around to it). Have they said how important it is story-wise to play the first before jumping into this one?

It all looks so sterile and boring, like they didn't even bother to try with the graphics. Zero soul so far, from what I've seen.

That's clearly Ganon in that nightmare with the big red eyes. Weird design of a single enemy (even the villain) shouldn't put you off of any game unless it's something morally repulsive.

Why is this always brought up when it comes to Zelda? I guarantee you the ugly models won't do much to the game. We've been here far too may times to know that.

I think the game looks downright unacceptable at times. It's also the game I'm most looking forward to right now. Everything I've seen from and heard about its gameplay and design elements is super reassuring and exciting.

Huh? Ugly graphics " always brought up when it comes to Zelda" ? Quite the opposite, especially recently with Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.

And this game's art is a far cry from WW or SS.

You can play every single Zelda as your first Zelda.

This won't be my first Zelda (though it might be my first top-down Zelda), but this one seems much more depended on a previous Zelda then any other Zelda before it. Nostalgia and throwbacks to a LttP seems like a huge factor in this game. Maybe I'm wrong though...

Isnt it awesome tho?

Exactly how I felt when I saw it. So old school IMO. Looks fantastic. Really a shame that some are so put off by it.

Old-school style Zelda isn't for everybody. Their loss, in my opinion.

As for me, I love this Link. First Link I've genuinely loved since Oracles.

You want to see sterile and boring, this is a perfect example (and this is my favorite of the 3D Zelda's)

The artwork for ALBW captures the feel of A Link to the Past with a touch of Zelda 1's artwork thrown and brings them into 3D perfectly.

I'm super excited for this game, since I never thought I would get a Zelda that looked like my favorite game in the entire series again, much less one that plays like the Zelda games that I grew up with.

i'm so glad we're getting an honest to god sequel to LttP i couldn't really care less what it looks like

i think it looks fine. could be more stylized, i guess... but i never really had problems with it

The poster is right. Looks like the mist lifeless Zelds game in years. Even Spirit Tracks had more soul. LttP is my favorite game of all time and this looks like the opposite of it in terms of character and soul.
ALBW looks like ALttP brought to 3D with more detail. I love Spirit Tracks, but the DS games were ugly.

Yeah, I don't particularly care for this game's graphics. It looks like they tried a 1:1 recreation of aLttP's artstyle but failed to realize that aLttP's art is acceptable for aLttP because of its lower resolution and 2D sprites. There's this room for abstraction and personal interpretation in aLttP's small sprites that 3D models really don't allow, and it just looks rather ugly.
