Really man? IGN is being moneyhatted? Microsoft released a video recently (BEFORE THIS THREAD) for the media to use to show what the Xbox One Dashboard experience will be like, and IGN decided to use it. You're trying to make a connection with something that doesn't exist. IGN was going to upload it anyways. It's what they do, upload gaming news and content, this was a new video that came out early today, of course they were going to upload it.

Honestly, I agree with the tweets he made right after sharing the video.

Well, if you believe Misterxmedia (which most people don't seem to), he says the PS4 is having over heating issues. If that were the case, we would've heard more about that by now. He claims that is why the top sites are getting the systems first. Uhm, okay...

From what I remember he didn't "leak" the DRM situation. At the time rumors were swirling from many sites that Sony might be implementing a DRM policy that was similar to Microsoft's.

The yield issues cannot be proven. Not saying he's wrong but we can't say he's right either.

It was actually "TheSameCoin" that called the Driveclub delay. Famous actually at first came in, said the site was wrong and click baiting. He later came back and said he was wrong.

Thuway is the one that called CoD at 720p while Famous only somewhat hinted at it.

Many people actually didn't believe that the PS4 was launching in October and many people stated this in the thread at the time.

Very true. And saying MS can't possibly mess up since they ARE an OS vendor after the well publicized issues they've had recently with say...Vista...Windows 8, Windows Phone OS's until maybe the most recent (and I'd think the Mobile OS segment would be closely related to the console OS space), isn't exactly closing the subject with confidence. :) MS has messed up plenty of operating systems during their time. The XB1 OS setup IS highly complex. Probably one of the only saving graces they have this time around is that their OS setup will have to deal with only ONE, set hardware standard. So they're getting to do an OS like Apple does as far as targets and controlling the hardware completely.

That being said, I'm sure both consoles are going to have SOME nagging bugs and missing features for the first few months. That doesn't mean that getting one day one is "stupid." You'll still be able to play some fantastic games. It's just that there will be some things that need to be fixed and added. This happens with just about every complex OS/hardware system that gets released these days and doesn't necessarily mean that one company or the other simply wasn't ready for the launch. Although..MS does seem genuinely disorganized this time. Still, that could just be poor planning and organization, not the result of having to RUSH anything. Look at Sony as well- they planned for this, seemingly fairly well too, but there's still a day 1 patch coming to put some features in. It's just the realities of product release in this day and age.

He's probably referring to the way the tweet is constructed, Ryan wrote it to look like a damn press release. I mean albert wouldn't even write something this PR-like.

I feel like this whole board is turning into crazy people. I wasn't around for the last round of console launches so I'm guessing it was equally hilarious. It's hitting a fevered pitch and it'll be nice to see everything calm significantly over the next few months when people start being able to focus on the games releasing.

Wasn't that the guy that said Xbox One will have 2 APUs and extra 6Gb of GDDR5? Then replaced second APU with dGPU that should be on the level of 7950? He just talks out of his ass. I wouldn't expect either console having overheating issues, since it's pretty much tablet CPU that is designed to work with passive cooling and a downclocked mid-range GPUs that consume no more than 120W of power.

This explains why all of the footage we've seen from Microsoft up until now has been in a tightly controlled environment. I'm sure Sony's problems aren't as big, but I'm wondering why we still haven't seen the PS4's UI as a whole. We've seen some footage but it's always fragmented and focused on one part of the UI, I don't think we've ever seen footage of someone starting the PS4, looking at their profile, trophies, customizing the UI, launching a game and then accessing the PS4's menu during a game, etc.. Weren't we supposed to have a video on the PS4's UI from IGN?

I don't think mods usually ban without any preface or warning, that's all I'm saying. If someone had a problem with it, they would contact me. It's not his job to police the board, just like it isn't mine.

And what is with the relax comment? I am relaxed as hell. Maybe you need to relax and not take this so seriously?

What makes things worse, is (and this is how I found the link) Marcus Beer responded to a tweet in which the person asks if it is true. This was Marcus' response: "it's possible unfortunately." That does not help things at all.

LOL, sure they do. I've copped a week ban AS a warning to calm down when I wasn't upset anyway. Each mod is different, not all will warn you.

eh...a lot of tweets IGN and IGN editors post is sort of like that. point being they want you to go to the site. if you claim moneyhat...then Greg Miller and those IGN editors who cover Playstation are in the pocket of Sony too. :)

GAF wasn't as populated back then as it is today, so you have a higher signal to noise ratio going on as a result. But yes, it was kinda like this back in threads I read in 05-06. There's a nice thread about the Wiimote reveal, for example, which is somewhat comparable to the threads you see now.

When someone who has insider information posts and its verified by matt, that's when you stop talking because there is nothing to discuss. Feel free to question information from questionable sources but not information that has been confirmed through multiple sources and Matt.
