They feel part of the service/community. Probably worth waiting it out to see rather than predicting which service will be best based on history.

My friends are fairly casual gamers who all had Xbox 360's, no PS3's. This is in Australia where the PS3 cost $1000+ at launch, Xbox took massive mindshare because of that plus releasing earlier so I guess it's just brand loyalty.

Plus they don't follow launch news, none of them had heard anything about a power difference till I told them a couple days ago.

Edit: plus there's just a $50 difference between the systems in Aus. $550 for PS4, $600 for Xbone

same reason even ps3 with 600 bucks and much more expensive than 360, with crappy ports, no big exclusive, crapy online , inferior Performing MP . still sold out at launch day.

I just meant for me to be honest

Was basically asking for someone to link me the thread as I meant to read up on it and it seemed pertinant if Gaz is looking for a new tv

I've come to realize the general populace don't seem to care particularly about the specific graphics advantages so your statement is obviously the correct approach to convince non-core why a PS4 might better suit them

It's not arguable but objectively true. The CoD that's the worst off on the PS3 is Black Ops: 960x544 versus 1040x608 on the X360, or a resolution difference of about 21%, which pales in comparison to the 125% advantage the PS4 has over the X1 with Ghosts.

While what you say is certainly true I actually meant that the performance gap in COD between PS4/XB1 is a larger gap arguably graphics/performance wise than any multiplatform difference for PS3/X360 games

Although I concede it's hard to compare framerate differences to pixel count

Still 125% difference in one of the main graphics performance metrics is massive

Black Ops looks like a PSP game when we got it. I remember taking photos of the PS3 version because it was hilarious how awful it looked. The Xbox copy looked like a completely different game.

And it spins. Spins. Spins... This is so intentionally deceptive. This Tim Dog guys obviously talks about native resolution and Greenberg answers with output resolution.

Why don't they understand that this is the kind of attitude that infuriates gamers and the reason why they are loosing all the goodwill they could gather with xbox 360? This is not incompetence any more, more like sabotage (maximum hyperbole! :)...

I agree 100%. It's the same type of conduct we have seen all too frequently from him and others at MS. Every month they gloat about NPD numbers but when people ask about worldwide figures they ignore it.

Having a good upscaler built in still isn't as good as native 1080p and he knows it.

Believe me, if the Xbox One didn't have some games that I was genuinely excited by, I wouldn't give it the time of day, nor would I be willing to put up with certain things

I don't only represent a sale for Microsoft and the Xbox One. I also very much represent a sale for Sony and the PS4. I would imagine the ideal situation for MS is for any one person to represent a sale for Xbox One, and a no sale for the PS4. I won't be a net gain for either side when all is said and done. The Xbox One just has me more excited for now. With the PS4 I see incredible potential, but the announced lineup of games isn't as exciting for me as what I see for the Xbox One at the moment, but I'm certain that lineup is coming, because, well, it always does, doesn't it? You bet your ass it does. :)

You don't expect us to believe you have an almost passive interest in the Xbox One because it has some games you like do you? You spend a lot of time, nearly everything you post and daily, defending the Xbox One.

It's one thing to want to get a console for the games, hey I do that too and would buy an Xbox One if that was the case regardless, but it's another thing entirely to do what you do.

Back when 1080p TVs weren't the norm, some 720p TVs just wouldn't take the signal if the output was 1080p. So you had to force 720p. Others would be "compatible" and just downscale to 720p. Free AA but loss of detail.
