What I think is pretty sweet is the gamestop employee I talked to tonight said that they'll both know how many extras they have and let people pre-order the extras around 6-7pm Thursday. That way we can trade in stuff towards the preorder intsead of dealing with the hectic midnight rush. Also if it's not looking promising we'd have time to try out bestbuy.

Odd, all of them around here are, and they had a big nationwide announcement for them back in August, but they were done as layaway technically. I have mine pre-ordered at the local walmart, and the one my wife works at took 12 pre-orders before shutting them down. They are supposed to get just enough to cover pre-orders with only a few extras, but who knows, maybe their allotment increased.
I believe it's 8am for them.

Is there stuff you're waiting for early next year? If you want to play Infamous for instance, why not just keep it - not long to wait.
This! And we will enjoy to read the US gaffers first impressions on PS4 and its games before we receive our own consoles.
Just think of the US people as beta-testers and it makes the wait a little easier.

man I lived in Indonesia, no official channel of distribution from Sony here so some game store have imported stock from HongKong or Singapore with inflated price day one. I wonder when will I be able to get PS4 with something close to normal price.
PS3 debut at $1800 in my country, not official price, just the imported price local game store is selling it for, and it actually sell to, my friend told me a story when he go to locala gamestore and see 10 year old kid whining to his father to buy PS3 and his father bought it at that price.

Odd, the days are at an indecisive medium speed walk for me. It's both good and bad all at once. I've been using career educational material to keep busy and not watch the clock at slow times during the week, and DVR programs to watch when not at work.
I wonder what this last week will feel like.

Dont most stores have some hidden online site that shows unit counts for products if you have a sku# and the store # ? I remember using similar sites when my wife wanted a Wii and everywhere was sold out. I remember using a Target and Walmart one, which is where I ended up getting one.

It probably depends on the Walmart. I'm not even sure how preorders are handled really. We took some preorders for the Wii U, but it was still first come first serve which didn't make much sense to me.

All stores in GA are getting atleast 10 non preorder units. Unrelated but bestbuy is opening at 6pm on thanksgiving day. Fucking stupid.

I'd certainly hope so. Consumers shouldn't have to go 3rd party routes and get gouged in the process to get a console. Sony has known the high demand would be there seconds after they announced the price. Do right by costumers that don't preorder and prefer to walk in and get one.
