it could all be a red herring. Maybe they're not really working on Uncharted, but now I'm entering "Jesse Ventura conspiracy" theories.

Im clearly taking the piss but imagine at the next showing of Uncharted, it starts with the logo they showed, and the camera zooms out and the full thing is "Crash Bandicoot: Uncharted Frontier" and Crash flies in on a jetpack

I can't handle all these feels.

I am not sure how I feel about all of this, Sure, Crash was great for it's time but I don't know if nostalgia alone would be worth getting the franchise back to Sony. If the original Naughty Dog team that made it still exists today, then sure, I would love them to modernize it with great new mechanics and amazing cartoonish visuals.

However today, I am not sure it'll work especially since Sly 4 was so underwhelming to me (not a bad game by any means but not as good as the older ones). I hope to hear more about this if it was true or not.

Let's summarize:

- Road signs

- All things related to Crash disappear from Activision's website

- At the Feb reveal, Cerny walked on stage with music from Crash playing

- He recently said he'll go back next year to his gaming roots

- ND went to visit Space X, supposedly just because they were invited because they're cool

- Rumours of an old big Sony IP coming back

- Kojima teased something big (Konami co-published a few Crash games right after Sony dropped it)

- The Uncharted PS4 teaser: "I lost 15 years". The last ND-developed Crash game (CTR) was released in 1999

- The Uncharted teaser part deux: The voice really sounds like Clancy Brown, who voiced Cortex and Uka Uka in most Crash games

WHERE'S YOUR GOD NOW, Y2KEV?

Those rumors are all but confirmed to be

Ok I dug up my old posts and this is what Verendus told me around a month ago when I asked him about new SCE (first party) games:

Verendus said:
Give me a couple months to get launch out of the way. GAF is too stupid right now. I'll give you the biggest news you'll likely hear for a good few years then. Please be excited.

Now I don't know if this is related to Crash for PS4, but this could be one of the biggest news in a few years if true.

Sorry to put you on the spot Verendus. My excite levels and through the roof for this rumor to be true.

Yeah, I agree. I said something like this a few pages back. A merely "good" game is not going to cut it in this case. The genre is all but dead and the game would be judged in that light. In a way, it would have to be a game great enough to revive interest in the whole genre in order to be judged a success. Otherwise it's just going to end up like the new Ratchet & Clank game - good but "just" a budget title at best.

Unless Im missing something, isnt that basically how Crash was set up anyways? Some 3D levels, some 3D levels with 2D sections, and some 2D levels

Sorry I was confusing what he meant by 2.5D (thought he meant the no-camera/linear 3D).

I was hoping for that placed as bonus levels in between levels that are a modern adaptation of the game. Free camera, open big levels, the new banjo, with a bit more of the modern mario.

The cast need knack's pixar touch though.

While getting Crash back would be a Megaton and bring NeoGAF down I am not sure it would be a wise thing to do. Twisted Metal came back on the PS3 and killed of a studio (well, they are still alive, doing mobile games now). See the same happening for the team bringing back Crash. Happy to be proven wrong though.

wont happen, if sony got it they would advertise the fuk out of it. It would be their mario. The ps1 games are always at the top of the charts on psn. There is demand for crash.

Car combat is also a dead genre. Platforming may not be what it was in the 90's but it's still very much alive and kicking.

Shame that there hasn't been a decent Crash game since the PS1. Those were some of the best platformers of all time and still hold up today. This needs to happen.

If they (sony) are going through this much trouble to keep it a secret, Adam certainly isn't going to confirm it on a tweet referencing GAF.

God damn it, can Sony just throw money at Activision and get it back from them if that's true? It's not like Activision has done the series justice.

Its crazy to me how little Activision has done with Crash. Literally all they've done was publish a game that was already complete when they merged with Sierra.
