Woaaah... I don't play Dedede that often, but he's definitely not a bad character. He's actually really agile with how quick and long-ranged some of his attacks are (back-air and up-tilt come to mind), his recovery is great for such a heavy character (+5 jumps), he's harder to kill compared to the rest of the cast and he has a Peach-esque projectile. Oh, and a crazy grab game.

Dedede only sucks if you play him as a stereotypical heavy character.

I'm glad that Smash-GAF loves Echoes so much. :')

I'd kill for a Sanctuary stage that morphs between the Light and Dark worlds with the light world randomly generating Rezbits that'd hack someone's controls (inverted controls, double gravity, etc) if you played with it too much and Dark World where you'd see random Ing things going on (maybe a behind the scenes construction of Quadraxis).

The image with villager almost looks like a new grab, but it could just as easily be something he cheated with like that one Luigi image with the Pikmin.

Well, Luigi and Marth have always been unlockables so they'll probably be there again. And the third party characters were unlockables in Brawl, so I would guess that Mega Man and Sonic again will be the same. There's still plenty of veteran starters not yet confirmed: Yoshi, Ice Climbers, Wario, Diddy Kong, Meta Knight, Pokemon Trainer just off the top of my head.

EDIT: Toon Link is almost certainly an unlockable, too.

Wario is a playable character in Mario Kart 8. I expect them to reveal Diddy in February, somebody random like Captain Falcon or Ness in March, and Wario and Yoshi in April. After that your guess is as good as mine.

Nah man it doesn't , Sakurai hasn't announced anyone that hasn't had a game recently or in the Wii era.

I was just thinking about this earlier, and the exciting thing is, there's still so many very likely starters to be revealed.

The slow pace of reveals has really made me appreciate the number of characters that are going to be in the game. We have a meaty selection of fighters already confirmed, and it's a bit more than half of what Brawl's entire roster was.

Ah yeah good point about Sonic and Megaman. Characters like Luigi and Marth though, I think they should be available from the start this time. Not just cause they were shown already on the site, but because they've been in the series for a while now. I think Luigi should be up there with Mario and Co. as soon as you start the game as well as Marth. Plus it gives the newcomers for their respective series more "wow" factor if they're unlockable, and we're pretty sure there will be a new FE rep.

Also I think it would be funny if characters like Ike and Lucas were hidden at first instead of starting characters.

Not sure how they could tie any of the other characters into new game releases. Ice Climbers could have been a cool tie in with NES Remix, I guess.
