Atleast with PS3 wlan was not so good than with cable. Is it same thing with PS4?
Can you test with cable instead of wlan?

Same with cable. Tried different things - changed DNS, even routed through my workplace VPN - all PS family consoles can't hit more than 3-4Mbps for me. Also had to bring router near the console, but realistically I can't use cable, since I would have drill holes and no way I would be allowed in my rented apartment. But never had problems with my Wi-Fi on PC or Xbox. I think it's shitty CDN on Sony end that just doesn't click with my network (maybe pre-determined routes on consoles that don't follow DNS suggestions?), because it doesn't make sense since my PC downloaded same update in 30s.

Have you considered network plugs?

That sucks :(. What about different router, any chances to loan another (from different company)?

Mine took 55 seconds. Been waiting an etetnity for this update, elites through the controller jack arent as great now the wait for the EQ app.
Yeah mine was about 60 seconds to download (336 MB), and about 5 minutes all up to complete the update.

I didn't realise this improved DVD playback quality as well. The patch notes only list that and the headset support.

Not working for me. All I hear is hiss on headphones

Also I didn't know you could hit l2 for the voice commands. Mind blown

Edit: is there a pairing/reset button the standard pulse?

don'town it but
saw this on twitter.

Looks like you have to hold the PS button and change output to all audio for the headset

You're the man/woman! Adjust Device--->output to headphones--->all audio

Works great now.

Edit: The "live area" is WAY faster for me now.

First stealth update:

Invites now identify where they are from and exactly what they are when they pop up on screen.

For example, a system party invite has the PS logo, while a Ghosts party invite has a little Ghost mask logo.

I left my PS4 in standby when I left for work an hour ago, so we'll see if it's actually downloaded anything like it's supposed to when I get home.

Aaaand its done, wow such a difference from ps3.

ya on a whole this is the first time ive ever had speed issues with PS4 as I d/l those BF4/CoD 800+/900+MB patches other day in less than 3/4 minutes running at same time

This could be a case of me not realizing it before, butttttt before when you were using remote play and you pressed the home key on a dual shock 4 it would automatically disconnect the vita, now when you have a vita running remote play and you press the home key on a Dual shock 4 it acts as player 2(the light bar glows red and allows you to choose a different user profile) So you don't automatically get kicked off of remote play. Hidden feature?!!

To talk with it as in USE MY MIC TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY FRIENDS.

Not sure what your issue is. Those are pretty much the same steps you use to connect any usb powered headset that use optical as far as I know. Maybe there is something in their support knowledgebase that might help you.

Are you maybe not powering the receiver with your ps4? I think you need to do that for the mic to work for these type of headsets?

Hmmm, maybe I missed that too, but I do remember disconnecting from remote player once I picked up a DS4. I could be wrong though.

I don't like the way this looks. Does this setting also shut down voice commands through the camera? looks like the easy way to solve a problem.

I would like to have voice commands, but don't want to use the camera for voice chat. This part annoyed me already because when your'e in a party you can't give any voice commands to your PS4. Would love it when i could do both (voice commands through camera/voice chat through mic attached to DS4)

So anyone installed and used the Pulse Elite headset yet? I'm just wondering if the voice feedback into the earpieces is working now. I could never get it to work on the ps3.

It just mutes the microphone on the camera just as it says. If you have another microphone plugged in you can still use voice commands through that.

I'd hoped there would be an option to mute in-game chat only

Considering voice comms and chat use the same channels and are universally not tied to any game or app, that seems like something that's impossible the way the PS4 OS is constructed. Besides it'd take a magnificent algorithm to be able to decipher "chat" from "command", we're not quite there yet technologically.

You could techically implement a filter for the voice input to only listen for approved commands, but then again there's no restriction on what a developer can designate as a command, so that won't fly either.

no - you'd just leave the mic open so the PS4 can listen for commands, but not pass any of it on to the game so other people don't hear you.

edit: ah - if a game itself has commands, you need pass the audio to the game.. in that case you'd need some system to tell the games not to pass that out to players - so more like updating the TRC or something, that is more complex..

Haven't even taken the Camera out of my Gamer Pack I got on launch day - I have no need for it right now and my Wii Sensor Bar is still perched proudly on top of the TV!

I hear these things are quite rare, maybe I should cash in?

When this patch was downloading or preparing, it caused Assassins creed to run like a slideshow for about 5 minutes. Kinda wierd, anyone else experience this?

Happened here with the last patch (with AC4 too). Wasn't playing when this one downloaded.

You're right and I fully agree with you, but don't you think that the way this was implemented is a bit odd?

A good example is when playing FIFA 14 online; the cam mic is always on unless you mute the microphone with today's firmware release. Before, you had to unplug the cam to turn off the mic.

Why should I mute the full cam mic (incl voice commands) so that other Fifa players don't here me mumbling in the background?

I'm sure there is a way this can be implemented better, than just muting the cam mic completely. I find it that it's a bit lame that I have to turn the option off everytime I start playing online.

Maybe a 'Mute cam mic in games only' option?

Sure, it's not ideal, but it's the same sort of situation the Xbox One has with Kinect (although that one is a better mic with better voice recognition). You can always make a 1-man PSN party and put the voice to go in there. That removes any ambient noise of yours from leaking into whatever game you're playing while keeping voice commands as an option for you.

That said, the OS level mute mic option is technically just the same as some games implementing an "enable voice chat" option, which some do. I just get the sense some people think there's a difference between voice commands and chat on a technical level, which would be magic. :p

PS button -> Adjust devices -> Output to headphones -> All audio
The USB also needs to be plugged in
