Was hoping for a bit more in the stealth update category, but I guess they're holding off the bigger stuff for Japanese launch.
In any case, my Pulse Elites now work great with the PS4 so I'm happy. Got some Tomb Raiding in before breakfast without waking anyone up.

I don't believe you can see update notes for firmware updates; just for game patches. Also, to eject a disk, I believe you press the Options button over the game's icon. You could do that on the PS3 as well.

Yeah but if you eject the disc when you're on the couch it'll be out by the time you get to your PS4, saving you precious gaming seconds.
You could on the PS3 too, just press options over the currently inserted disk and it will give you the option to remove it.
To eject a disk using the DS4, just hit the options button on the icon you want to eject. You will see a eject disk option on the right side of the screen.

I'm not getting any sound through the pulse elites on my PS4. I've got it set mid way between sound and voice, outputting all audio to headphones, but still nothing.
I never used them on my PS3, is their some hardware update I need to do or something?

I just found out what's wrong. I still had the chat cable plugged in to the headset and even though it wasn't connected to anything it stops it from working. Just take out the chat cable.

Why not just plug in the headphones to the controller? I've been doing that with my elites since launch with no problems at all.
In fact I never have to charge my elites anymore, which is a plus.

I acually think that there was some kind of update for them, although not sure if that was just for the profiles. But worth plugging in and downloading the app then running through that. Bit of an oversight for now if you don't own a PS3 though, I would assume that the PS4 app will offer the same functionality.

Probably has a pretty big effect on battery life, I would imagine.

Just some anecdotal stuff: My Pulse Elite headphones are great but the build quality was not good for me. They cracked at point on both sides next to the earphones and they don't hold their shape. I had to superglue the shit out of them so that they retained their hold a bit more.

The Pulse Elites are my favorite headphones I've ever owned. I know there are better, more expensive options but these sound great. And my favorite part is how versatile they are... they can work both wirelessly with the PS3, PS4 (now!), Mac and PC, but also wired to any device! It's been great hooking these up as my PS4 headset since launch. The sound quality is great as is the microphone.

GENRAL PULSE ELITE QUESTIONS: So I know they're likely to snap. What's the warranty length? Also, do the GTA V ones suffer the same problem?
Second hand GTA V ones from CEX have their own 12 month warranty and are £90, so those questions are very important

Will you receive virtual surround with this method? Didn't know if it would strictly force stereo without it operating via the dongle.
Same thing happened with mine, maybe my head is too big.

Just tried out my Pulse Elites on Battlefield 4. Man, I forgot what VSS sounded like! Everything sounds lively and NO MORE WIRES!

Don't believe my update ever booted to safe mode, might be a an issue with your console specifically.
I'll see what happens with this latest one if others say they get safe mode too though.
Can't believe you still can't do this!

the update will install, power cycle to safe mode and power cycle again on it's own. I don't think your supposed to turn it on when it's going through these steps.
it goes to safe mode to install something for the update. you don't see the options but it has the same background and layout.

The ps4 literally turns off, I left it for approx 1 minute and nothing happened so I booted it up myself which led me to the safe mode screen...
Am I meant to wait longer for it to power cycle again?

Hmmm, it did this once and then powered down.

I just plugged in my pair and it worked instantly. When you turn on your headset, does a notification appear in the top right corner of the screen?
Nope, I get the solid blue light on the dongle and the beep, beep....beeeeeeeep when the headset syncs.

Yep that works for me too. I didn't realize the chat would work wirelessly on PS4 as well. Appreciate it. Now I feel like an idiot.

It should function normally after that. Strange.
You need to hold the PS button on the controller, go to Adjust Devices, and select all audio instead of chat only to be sent to the headset.

When I first got my ps4 waking up from "stanby" would take about 4 seconds. Then one day waking up became the same as turning the system on taking around 20 seconds. I was dissapointed that this update didn't fix that issue. I hope it's not just Sony updating cause they're trying to sell a headset
