Looks good so far.
So cards are basically items? I thought they'd be more of a pre-game thing like runes and masteries.
Is there last hitting in this or do you scavenge amber from downed minions?
They are more of a pre-game thing. You have a collection of hundreds of cards you collect, but you can build multiple decks and then you only get to take one deck into a match with you. During said match, you populate your "store" with the cards from that deck. So there is a lot of strategy involved in picking the right deck before the match.
Looks like they may have backed themselves into a corner in terms of artstyle choice.
Are all champs gonna be soldiers in a suit?
Not even in the reveal trailer were all champs soldiers in a suit. Gideon, Sparrow, Grux, Feng Mao, Rampage and more don't fit that description.
Because anything but preset text is terrible.
This simply isn't true. It all comes down to giving your players the right tools to allow them to cater the chat/communication experience to their liking. Presets are nice, but on their own, it's just restrictive.
Smite?
honestly it almost looked the same.
It's a third person MOBA, that's about as far as the similarities with Smite goes. This game adds vertical aiming, as someone else mentioned, also adds non even terrain which will require jumping, jet packs, and other abilities to traverse. The arena itself is very different from other MOBA arenas; it's a bowl shape with the lanes actually residing on different planes. Top lane is highest, middle is ground, and bottom lane is the lowest. You can see across all three lanes meaning top lane might be able to shoot down into the other lanes with the right abilities or weapon. There are a lot more differences than there are similarities.
