Where's ReCore?

Sure, but MS has been way worse at this. They announced all these big games like a new Gears of War, Quantum Break, Fable Legends, Phantom Dust, Scalebound, Crackdown, Halo etc. only to cancel two of them, Quantum Break seeing a pretty big delay from original promises, Halo Collection actually being the big next Halo project prior to Halo 5 and the rest still TBD except GeoW (I'd say Scalebound, much like Sony's Horizon, is an almost guaranteed delay to 2017). Sony understandably announced some games a bit early because big game announcements do generate some hype (which is pretty important early on when there aren't a ton of games released or near release), but they didn't announce games that had hardly entered development yet, nor have they canceled any already-announced games. They kept Horizon under wraps for several years before its (official) unveiling. Unless I'm forgetting something, the worst they've done (as far as game announcements go) is decide not to keep up the publishing duties with Rime.

Still waiting for Agent.

Looking forward to watching its gameplay reveal at E3 2018.

Sunset Overdrive CGI - E3 2013
Nothing for a year
Sunset Overdrive gameplay - E3 2014
Sunset Overdrive releases - October 2014

It's not unprecedented by MS to show CGI, then gameplay and release within 1.5 years.

Delayed to work on online features, I bet.

Edit: Somehow I missed the joke being made already. I tend to do that a lot.

The game HAS to be shown during E3 or else Gamescom, it's simple as that. Because if not, I'm just gonna give up on it. If it's a no show, that's clearly not a good sign. Phil Spencer did tweet last year that he played the game, so I guess there's that.

But i hope they don't do this again. Next time just announce something when you can actually show something.

I mean can you blame people? The announcement and info on the game was weird. Haven't said a peep since.

The reveal was definitely weird but I think everyone saw a delay coming. There was no way it was releasing before E3, but in 2016? Maybe. They did it with SO, why not with Recore?

It was $60 on microsoftstore.com after E3 though so like, that pretty much confirmed it'd be a AAA game for me. Shinobi's comments on the game only cemented it.

lol

is this serious?

Fable Legends - cancelled, Phantom Dust - cancelled, Halo Collection - a mess on release for ages, Scalebound - revealed way too early, Crackdown - revealed way too early, ReCore - revealed way too early. Noticing a pattern here yet? They've been a disappointment this gen, for sure.

Shinobi saying there's quests, find robot dudes, RPG and customization elements, melee and shooting combat:

That's all I can find from what Shinobi has said, but what he's said sounds amazing to me.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but I reckon this game has been held back to the last minute to avoid too much backlash when it's revealed to be a 2.5D metroidvania

My thoughts too. Don't think this will be a big budget title at all , more like a shadow complex , abes odyssey type thing, they were great games so doesn't have to be a big negative. But this wont have money thrown at it.

Oh damn, that does sound good. I didn't know any of this. Looking at this it really should be a given that we'll see it at E3.

Crackdown - is releasing this summer (multiplayer anyways), they revealed it last Gamescom, how is that too early?

Scalebound - Ntkrnl leaked it, no point trying to hide it anymore just come out with it tbh. They showed gameplay which while looking rough technically, still looked pretty good.

Recore - Revealed last year, releasing this year, how is that too early?

So now it's gone from everything gets cancelled to everything is shown too early. Keep shifting then goalposts bruh

As others have said, it's not an out of the ordinary thing for MS to show a CG trailer and then the full game a year later

Which ones would those be? Because I can't remember a whole lot. I just really want this game to happen, because I really really loved that trailer. But silence is never really a good thing. But let's wait and see if it's at E3. Perhaps they open the show with it. :)

From a first party that's crap enough. Microsoft really need to get their act together already. People can fanboy all they like about it but it's about time they made good on the promises made two E3's ago now.

yea they made a shiny cgi trailer for a 2.5d game thats totally reasonable to think

To be fair, that doesn't really mean anything, so it is reasonable. For example, most people are expecting Housemarque's MatterFall to be 2.5d, that game also got a shiny fully 3D CGI trailer.

But Shinobi's already said it's a fully 3D game in the case of ReCore and makes it sound really cool.

Hopefully, Armature realizes that this is their big "shit or get off the pot" moment for them as a developer of original titles. Arkham Origins Blackgate kinda sucked out loud, but they've carved out a nice little niche as a porting studio. It'd be a shame to see them focus entirely on ports, given the talent over there, but no one really thinks any less of their brothers-in-arms at Bluepoint for focusing themselves as a port specialist.

AAA's not including remakes etc:

Sunset Overdrive

Sea of Thieves
Halo Wars 2
Recore

Originally Scalebound before getting delayed into early 2017, which should still be before E3 so I still think it's kinda quick release after reveal.
Crackdown Multiplayer? (Or whatever the hell this Summer thing is)

They'll cancel everything soon enough.

Hopefully not, Scalebound certainly has potential, I'm just still absolutely pissed about Phantom Dust and the mess of a launch for Halo Collection.

Not trying to excuse a long wait for certain games, but this is a case of 'Literally Every Publisher Too.'

Oh, for sure, but from the first party studios like Nintendo and Sony to compare against, Microsoft definitely compares the worst of the three for me, although Sony's Last Guardian is definitely one that's been way too long, for sure.

We have to get use to comment like this, it the new trending the "cool" kids like to talk about.

It's "cool" that Microsoft decides to can games I was looking forward to, then?

From what the official PR info and Shinobi have said about the game it sound interesting. We should wait for E3 for this.

Yeah I don't know about that.
Well I mean it's still officially 2016 so I put it there, but why do you say that? What makes it different to Sunset Overdrive, another game that would have had a similar release schedule as Recore if it's 2016?

Can someone decode this?
Or is it just trolling?
Recore launching within 1.5 years = revealed too early?
