No matter how the final game turns out, I respect what S-E has done with the technical creation of this game.

I've always loved the old Sakaguchi philosophy of making each new FF some form of audio/visual feast and I'm glad to see that tradition carry on despite the rising costs of game development.

Two months. We're almost there.

The animations, the weather simulation, the open world... This game is really something, they are really trying to make something special.

Yeah, the world by itself and the tech behind it is really great, but everything I've seen just feels so empty (besides citys maybe). That's also my biggest fear for the game:
They've a beautiful world, but it won't be more than the battle area.
But well, I just realized that's kinda off-topic in a tech thread. :p

Doesn't seem much different to me than old-school FF worldmaps, just prettier and more detailed. I'm ok with it.

Announce the PC version already so we can see all this technology in 1080p.

You're already getting it in 1080. I'm looking forward to playing it in 1440p, however. Hopefully with some decent draw distance, higher res textures and AA like in the recent bullshots.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
I see how it is, you stole my pic without giving me credit smh

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
"I have in mind a version of Final Fantasy XV that is more technically developed. This version could incorporate things that we were forced to abandon because of the limitations of home consoles. With the PC, this would be an opportunity to release a version far superior in terms of quality and tech."

He also said development would start from scratch.

Im willing to wait for such a version. I could see them releasing PS4K, Scorpio and PC versions at the same time.

That's intentional. Think of it less like a modern open world and think of it more like a modern realization of a JRPG overworld.

The difference is that an overworld is designed to be dotted with landmarks, and inbetween those landmarks they try to craft interesting scenery that creates context for your journey. There will be lots of content of course, but expect to find the content more centralized around landmarks than spread throughout the entirety of the landmass.(though you can always find monsters to battle throughout)

PS4K version is coming day and date with the PS4 version. Late september games need to have a Neo patch ready or they won't pass certification.

The patch just has to have basic mandatory requirements like having 1080p at the minimum and better framerate than the normal version. Doesn't mean it will have extra graphic features, and in fact it doesn't sound like they will spend any more effort than needed right now because they're hard at work to get the normal version out. Tabata said they aren't thinking of anything other than the PS4 and Xbone version. I imagine, they might release a better Neo patch later on with dedicated extra features similar to the eventual PC version they talked about:

If we get confirmation of a Neo version prior to launch I'm actually going to wait. It's been a long time coming but I can put the game off for another couple months to see these assets with better IQ

Is it me or did it look way smaller in those than now?

Maybe when you enter combat the camera correctly adjusts. Seems like a mini cutscene when you encounter him the first time, would be cool if you could ignore him and comeback at a later point.

Tabata stated that he wants to do something with the Neo but they have no plans at the moment.

"from scratch" is obviously bullshit, but I can see it being given a "remaster" level of treatment. Certainly they can let their freak flag fly and let it be as poorly optimized as possible as long as enthusiast PC's can power through it.

Shit, Adamantoise is freaking huge. I wonder if there's a secret dungeon on his back. Can't see how we will be able to beat it, Noctis is like an ant lol.
