Hopefully he will show benchmarks, or at least some general indications about performance gains vs DX11 in 1st version of mantle that will come out in a month's time.

Porting time/man-hours and similarity to console APIs are also important.

Had forgotten about this, nice surprise to have it coming right up after the GS PS4 stream. :) Haven't played anything all evening, was planning to do some BF4 after that. Guess not, thanks GAF!

Its funny that tech conference streams are worse quality than some guy streaming game on twitch xD

Indeed, though the good thing is a lot of games are built off common engines, as long as CryEngine, Unreal, Source, etc... support mantle, it's all gravy from there on.

Good presentation, he explained a lot how Mantle works. Its not bound to GCN, it can work with nVidia also if they get permission/manpower to adapt it.

They are still working on BF4 Mantle implementation, release window is late December.

He also mentioned that the implementation is surprisingly cheap - only 2 months of work. 1st half harder to get the engine running, 2nd half much easier to optimize everything.
