Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare successfully defends its position at the top of the All Formats Chart for a second week.

This is despite a fall in sales of 77% and strong competition from new contenders Assassins Creed: Unity and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Ubisofts highly anticipated Assassins Creed: Unity has to settle for second place, missing out on top spot by 16,000 sales. It does however outsell last years Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag which originally debuted on Xbox 360 and PS3. The PS4 version of Unity accounted for 52% of sales, Xbox One 46% and PC 2%. Older generation consoles (PS3/XB360) got a separate game, Assassins Creed: Rogue which debuts this week at No6.

Combined sales of the two different Assassins Creed titles would have seen it outsell Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare this week. Released on Tuesday, Halo: The Master Chief Collection enters at No3, one place ahead of FIFA 15 (+2%) which is down 2 places to No4. It is the biggest launch for a Microsoft published Xbox One title and the 7th biggest Xbox One launch by any publisher. There are 6 new titles in the All Formats Top 10 this week with Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham making an appearance at No5 (Lego Batman 2 managed No1 in W25 2012), Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 new at No8 and World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor debuting at No9. Minecraft: Playstation Edition falls one place to No7, but sales are up 79% thanks to its release on Playstation Vita this week. The Vita release is the biggest Minecraft launch on a Playstation console, outselling both PS3 and PS4s debuts. It is the third biggest debut ever on Vita, behind console launch titles Uncharted: Golden Abyss and FIFA Football. The Top 10 is rounded off with Destiny (-11%), down from No5 to No10.

There are still loads of family 360 owners out there that haven't upgraded to a next Gen Console yet. That's the untapped market that might be heading out to pick up a console at Christmas and (imho) is what Microsoft are aiming for when they start price cuts.

I'd love to know the unit numbers for the gap in sales for this title. My kids have it on their list for Christmas.

Wasnt COD estimated to be around 780k?

That puts halo at about 190k even being unofficially bundled to hell and back.

They have no family bundles, Minecraft and Lego games are multiplat and PS4 has LBP3 as an exclusive.

Simply price. I'm not saying it's going to work but price is a big draw. I have no idea about LBP as I have never played it.

Lots of families go out to get the cheapest bundles and would rather stick with the console they have rather than change to a new brand. What I'm saying is if a family has a 360 (and lots do) then an upgrade to the cheaper XBox One may help MS.

This isn't a party political broadcast for the MS Party, just my opinion

I honestly would have been more surprised if the MCC hadn't topped the charts, it's such a great deal, and bundled with pretty much every XO. Buggy or not, definitely a smart move by MS.

Anyone got TLOUR's launch numer for comparison too? Would be interesting to see how they stack up.

And add me to the group hoping this is a wake up call to Ubisoft with their yearly franchises. If they're not going to put the effort in, and release finished products, they're going to kill these franchises.

I would imagine it is probably something like. COD: G, COD: AW, Fifa, Fifa, Destiny and Titanfall.

The UK has been having some ridiculous X1 deals recently. You can easily get FIFA and 2 more free games at the price of a PS4, even cheaper in some places.

It was always going to put up decent numbers just because of the name. But there's no way that UBI is happy with the performance of that game. Not with all the hype and not with how well WD did for them. The users are obviously there to support big current gen only releases, there's just something about Unity that didn't click with them.

But doesn't the snippet say that Unity actually sold better than Black Flag?

It beat the PS3/360 release of Black Flag. But there were people waiting on the current gen release of that game, so they skipped the last gen versions.

The Vita release is the biggest Minecraft launch on a Playstation console, outselling both PS3 and PS4s debuts.

You can't stop Minecraft. This portable (not mobile) version has a huge potential.

The most expensive AC ever coming in below Watch Dogs is kind of a bomba. Both it and MCC had relatively soft launches compared to expectations, MCC may be just 2x Sunset Overdrive's first week.

Well according to EG, Unity sold better at launch than 4 but remember 4 launched only on 360/PS3 at first.

I'd say that's a little worrying.

A good week for XBone. More titles (by 1) in the top 40 than PS4, though it does have more exclusives fresh out at the mo and a big advertising push with most of the big games this fall. But the Sun has set for Overdrive.

I wonder though if (and it really should be, if it's not with all the deals/marketing/exclusives) the XBone has been outselling the PS4 lately. Of course, PS4 could be back in the commanding seat next week with GTA/FarCry/LBP joining the ranks.

Pro Evo still a forgotten franchise. Only PS owners seem to care anything about it.

Not the best launch for AC. Deservedly so too. They really need to rest the series or give it a year off at least to freshen it up. It's way too samey and that's now old, despite the lovely graphics. It's just not enough anymore.

Ubisoft's learning the same hard lesson EA did this same time last year with Battlefield 4. Don't be surprised if the obligatory AssCreed release due out next fall is pushed into early 2016.

Was Beyond Gotham not released on the Wii U yet, or is it really just that much of a pariah in the territory...?

I would have thought it was the type of broad demo third party title that would perform [relatively] well on the system.
