From the little that was shown, the biggest COD problem for me is still apparent, the TTK is still way too short.

Will wait for more detailed videos once the embargo lifts.

That was a terrible way to show off multiplayer. They should've just showed some actual cool footage from multiplayer instead of trying to make it look cinematic. It didn't hype me at all, so this will be an easy one to skip.

There was just a live chat on Facebook with developers and here's afew snippets I got from it.


42 players in the HQ area. (edit, it's 48 sorry for typo)
Divisions/classes, gear, equipment is all selected here.
It is the main thing multiplayer loads into (aka destiny tower)
Teams can be created here and loaded into matches.
While matches are being loaded you can still move around the HQ.
There's activities to do in the HQ like firing range challenges, 1v1 in a pit amongst other things.

Abit on War: It's 6v6 with objectives that have to be completed to push forward. Examples given: escort tank over bridge through city street, take out AA gun in enemy stronghold. It rallies back and fourth (reminds me of a similar thing to BFOne Operations)

That's all I managed to get.

This sounds.... underwhelming.
 
I'm really liking the sound of all these new changes being implemented. They are trying to add some fresh ideas to a familiar setting, and I appreciate that. Execution is everything, though. Waiting for tmartn to post some of his footage and discuss his thoughts on the feel of playing first-hand.

Thanks for the info. There should have been a blowout for this game!!! Why tf is info coming from facebook live ?

During a small presentation at E3, we were shown Headquarters’ firing range. The coolest feature of it is that, in the firing range, you will actually be able to see all other players currently in Headquarters (up to 48) also shooting the firing range.

Headquarters is not available to demo at E3, but Condrey confirmed it will be part of the beta.
It won't change the gameplay or anything, but I really love this feature. It's a neat little way to foster community in an environment that isn't so intense.

Watching the videos, i think Infinite warfare's art style suits much better the current-gen hardware limitations and rendering algorithm deficiencies with it's fairly flat surfaces, with some reflectivity, and moderately bold colors. WWII, and it's muted colors and brick walls that just look flat aren't really appealing to me visually.

Really liking the maps and the flow of the game so far, but that damn TTK that has plagued the last COD games is killing the hype for me. The M1 is basically 1 shot kill and so is every other gun. whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ;(

Though I'm still salty we didn't get the big scripted SP demo that COD is known for during the conference.
 
Looks awesome and looks like COD. Not too different as many of us feared, but new enough to be new. The main thing that I dislike is the small hitmarkers ala Infinite Warfare. I much prefer big meaty hitmarkers like they had in AW and BO3. I suppose that might change by final release, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

CoD as a series has always been known for low TTK. TTK seems lower too because they're playing on LAN instead of CoD's industry-worst servers.

COD is low TTK. If you want high TTK then play other games. COD is an arcade shooter. As long as they are still in the 250-300 ms range on average then it should be great.

I personally prefer the low TTK of COD.

Yeah no it wasn't as bad as the last 3 titles, IW, BOP3, Ghosts.

The last great cod had the perfect TTK was BO2.
 
One thing I find weird from the footage is that the hipfire crosshairs are really hard to see, like I can't even see them at all half the time. Hopefully that's just a result of youtube compression or something.

weird. usually they have a separate MP blowout closer to launch? or is this just detailing the war mode or whatever they call it and not the usual TDM

Really liking the low TTK. Really hating the stupid bayonette charge. Hopefully they dont ruin it and give you extra health during the bayonette charge like BF1 does. uggh please no.
Havent played COD in a while are the newer ones only 6v6?

Hopefully they bring the option to disable those medal notifications popping up in game from MWR. AW had the worst case of that in the series.
 
In regard to Sledgehammer Games censoring German/Axis symbols in MP only - why not just have it as an option? Have a prompt that appears as you start multiplayer that asks "Would you like to toggle German symbols and iconography on/off?" Put it in the global game settings/options as well.

Simple. Then everyone will be happy.

I think this actually looks really good. I'll pick this up for sure, speaking as someone who played about 3 total matches of Infinite Warfare.

That's inane. So I can boot up single player and experience everything 100% historically accurate; but if I switch to multiplayer I'll be fighting a fictional German force on actual WWII battlegrounds ... that is not historically accurate. That makes no sense. Hopefully the outcry will be enough that they will put in some kind of toggle so that everyone can experience multiplayer the way that they feel they would like to.
