It would be odd for a Rockstar employee to refer to the next entry in the Red Dead series as to RDR 2 (you know why). So, it seems kind of far fetched that he's hinting to a new entry (Red Dead 3 or Red Dead R(something)).

Already been commented on. But really it could literally be Red Dead Redemption 2 instead of another Red Dead R___ because Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Revolver could be considered different franchises. They were nothing alike.

rockstar likes to never keep their franchises in the same universe. GTA 4 & 5 were the first time in a while I feel like that numerical releases were a part of the same universe.

So I want to not only if the red dead series is canon to GTA (since redemption's presentation was so close to GTA's) but if the next game will canon to previous. revolver wasn't canon, I'm pretty sure. "spiritual successor"

I'm guessing it's not a remaster. I was pretty sure the reason we never got the game on other systems was because the code was practically impossible to wade through and edit at this point.

Also I don't think a remaster has much to offer. 1080p 60fps sure if it were possible but it's not like GTA where increasing population sliders will make any sense

that said Game Awards is very soonish? Wasn't RDR awarded quite a bit back in 2010? I even remember the best song from the game being played live. That's a good place to announce something.

It's entirely possible for this to be RDR2, this wouldn't be new for games to be named like this.

Metal Gear (Solid, Rising) and Final Fantasy (VII Compilation, X-2, XIII) For example have released self contained games in the franchise with their own independent sequels.

Geoff did tweet that they're will be 10 world premieres this VGX. All I hope it does get announced between VGX and PSX, and now that the 7th core is unlocked within the PS4, we're in for a treat.

Pretty much. I figure we'll see this in a year or two when they're about done with it. I can't imagine that they'll have a long, drawn out marketing sequence. Probably first see it 6 months before release?
