How was this DMC anyways? I know it got some criticism from the direction they took it but if someone like myself, who has never played a DMC game, would this one be worth a play?

It's great and the DE had a ton of work put into the gameplay. I'm glad the AF got fixed because I hated seeing this be considered a sloppy port when it had a 23 page pdf of gameplay improvements.

Zero performance drops after AF was activated. Game runs at smooth 60fps, except in very rare situations when engine starts loading new level areas in the background [mostly during in-game cinematics].

Open world games worse on PS4 (Dat XBO CPU upgrade!)
PS4 NO AF.
