They liked 3 as well, maybe the others. They like most things that are popular and big-budget.

I've heard this a couple of times. Which journalists and how many? People tend to put an unreasonable amount of weight on a few points of data.

Famitsu reviews have been useless for the longest time, high reviews for terrible games. Moneyhats all round. They seem to operate on a 35-40 scale for any big title.

All it needs is tight dungeons filled with puzzles and infuriating enemy combos. I don't care if QTE Jesus juggles all of the titans at once while using earth as a unicycle... I mostly enjoy the series for the quieter parts.

Cronos, Hercules, Hades, Opening etc are some of the best moments in the entire series IMO. Each one was special.

Pretty excited for this one, even though I didn't think I would be. Not long ago completed GOW 2&3 when I bought the GOW Saga/Controller bundle and thought they were fantastic. I had previously only completed the first one before.

My guess for average score? Lower than part 3, with reviewers main complaint being "been there, done that", but don't expect it to drop below an average of 8.

God of War is one of a very select few titles that I simply don't care about reviews and buy day one regardless.

Still, will be interesting to see where this lands. They've taken a lot of risks/experimented, might not go over so well with reviewers.

IMO they should have better concentrated on the SP campaign instead of focusing on the multiplayer. They could have been more ambitious about SP. At least from the demo that is the feeling I get.

Will continue to wait for legit reviews.

I expect this game to even out at the mid to high 80's. I'd be immensely surprised if this is above 90 on Metacritic as well.

I wouldn't be surprised, real problems mostly get overlooked, you know, like games not working at all the first week because they played them in some fake perfect environment, or blatantly broken mechanics, they end up with 9-10; they get stuck on part of a game for whatever reason, obvious or not, the way some "journalists/reviews" go I would expect a few less points.

Of course it goes both ways, some games get some crazy good scores even though the writing tells us a tale of this not so great game in a bunch of ways, must be a 9.

A few on twitter, some seemed to get stuck at one point of the game to realise it was a dead end, apparently the game isn't informative enough or something.

Yes! They are good and self contained games in their own rite. The trophies for chains of Olympus are pretty tongue in cheek.
