This.
But does this guarantee that NX will receive the same amount of 3rd party support as PS4 and XB1 are having? That's all I care honestly.
It's a part of the equation.Nope. Power alone will not bring over the audience that buys third party games. The people who clamor for a powerful Nintendo console would like you to believe it does, but it doesn't.
A lot of developers have said it was easy to port last-gen games to Wii U.Nintendo's last box didn't even allow 3rd parties to easily port over X360 and PS3 ganes, like any sane person would've expected, due to going cheap on the memory and CPU. It's no wonder they "shaft" Nintendo when Nintendo phones in efforts like that.

It's not news that Nintendo hasn't been on the good side of third-parties since the N64.
I thought the nx was based on a system where you could increase the power of the system by adding multiple modules? It was very akin to cloud computing.
"best development tools ever."
Colour me skeptical.
That makes sense. If you feel the thread should be locked for any particular reason, then feel free to do so. (I apologize in advance.)
For what it's worth, she is usually in regular contact with people who handle indie relations at companies like Nintendo and Microsoft. And she does talk to a lot of indie developers who may or may not be in a position to have NX dev kits in their possession. That was the main reason I posted the thread.
(Although, that doesn't mean she's right on this rumor either.)

It's not news that Nintendo hasn't been on the good side of third-parties since the N64. But at least a lot of niche games were made for Wii despite its power (thanks to its install base).
Deus Ex, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Need for Speed, Call of Duty, etc... there's not a lot of third-party support, but what's there doesn't run badly unless you try really hard to screw it up. Does it have advantages? Depends on the budget of the port.i dont know man, last time i check all the games ported to wii u or run like shit or didnt have almost any advantage over ps360 games
If she works within the industry, then it wouldn't be hard to believe that she's heard rumblings from other people/friends who also work within the industry. Hell maybe she's been told something by Nintendo directly and hasn't been able to say anything yet (NDA).
But then again that one Journalist from GI heard something from someone about the NX controller not having any buttons, but that turned out the be bullshit ( I think?).
I should hope so, the ps4/xb1 are several years old now.

That first tweet is basically this
that is why a xb1.5 and ps4.5 exists. nintendo is going all in on their NX platform. i imagine they will have the SCDs too. they also been hinting at going to a more apple like structure. so maybe we will see new nx devices every 2 or 3 years. But what about the XBox 1.5 or the PS4K? Lol

PS4 and Xbone aren't equally powerful, but the NX is as powerful as them.
I mean...what?

hence sony and ms doing the same.
Easy to develop for doesn't really matter that much for indies, to be honest. 70% of indies are on Unity, 25% are on Unreal, and 5% have weird delusions of grandeur, as far as I'm concerned. As long as those engines support it, no one will see much difference.

Mmh, who to trust?
IndieGamerGirl, or AAACorporateGuy?
Sounds like peeps coming straight out of OnePunchMan now that I think about it...
Like I said in another thread, if it's on par with PS4/Xbone, then clearly the third parties will target PS4.5/Xbox1.5 and point out the NX is still way too weak.
i don't trust this rumour one bit.
thanks for the Star Wars spoilers bro, i didn't know Harrison Ford was in it!!!
