More like low birth rate. Cos we'll all be too busy playing Killer Instinct. Amirite?

Odd, could just be overzealous managers there. I would think they wouldn't be quite so blatant about it though.
Pre ordered ps4 . Gamestop says 3x the amount of ps4s pre ordered compared to Xbox 1
Gamestop guy said people were preordering the PS4 at about a 10 to 1 rate over the Xbox.
My local GameStop has run out of PS4 pre-orders while Xbone pre-orders haven't reached half... and far more PS4s were available
Xboxone: 10, PS4: 65
Went to GameStop, to get The Last Of Us, and the Manager was putting away a bunch of Xbox 360 games/Consoles from trade ins towards PS4.
My @gamestop here told me this morning that the #PS4/#XboxOne pre-orders are 4:1 (at their store). Good #E3 Microsoft LOL!
I just went to a Gamestop at a local mall to pick up The Last of Us. After the usual "did you pre-order? you should really pre-order! got a rewards card? want one? how about a season pass? all this cool content at a discount if you get one! how about a strategy guide? bring the game back within a week and get $50!" spiel, he asked if I would like to pre-order a PS4. No mention of the Xbone. I let him know about I already had pre-ordered one and, just for fun, asked him about the Xbone. He said that they were taking pre-orders, but immediately followed up by asking me if I had heard about the Xbone's used games restrictions.
Some dudes from Bungie who here in line ahead of me got the same speech, so I'm pretty sure it's their official direction to push the PS4.
It also might have something to do with the fact that a lot of the guys are gamers who have the same issues with it we do. Someone find one of the gormless ones and see if they still push the PS4.
Went to pick up Last of Us today and was asked whether I wanted to preorder the PS4, they said 1/2 their allotment was already spoken for and expects them to be filled by Monday (no hard numbers from the guy). I also asked about the Xbone and he also said it was pretty obvious which manufacturer has the better relationship with Gamestop then told me that while used games weren't being blocked on the Xbone, they are taking 10% of the profits.
GameStop near me don't even take XB1 preorders they have PS4 ads plastered all over the store. In addition, when I was picking up my TLOU copy today, there were two guys in front of me selling all their X360 game collection to fund PS4 preorders.

No, only PS4 leaves it up to publishers. But the Xbox One leaves it up to publishers, right? So does the PS4.
This is ridiculous ...

I'm sure GameStop is one of the 'approved retailers' that the Xbox One will support, and will be more than happy to play ball with Microsoft. However, this doesn't mean that they don't also realize that it will be much better for their business model to throw their weight behind Sony right now.
I'm pretty sure it's their official direction to push the PS4.
First, it's a cat in a tuxedo drinking a martini.
Second, yes. I want to fight about it. I want to have a no-holds barred streetfight with you over games systems. On the internet. You have insulted my honor, sir.
This is a joke, BTW.
So Microsoft "isn't entirely to blame" even though they came up with the scheme in the first place, because the publishers didn't say "no?"
Wow...you. Wow.
You're a great representative of the modern Xbox One apologist.
Meaningless.
If you do that, enjoy the screen telling you there's something wrong, and asking you to re-calibrate your Kinect. Because that's all you're going to get for applications that require it if you try that.
I really don't have to twist anything you've said. Nor did I. You're doing fine on your own.
I didn't use the word fanboy once. I may have called you an apologist, which is based onn nothing but the contents of your post, which is an accurate assessment. I personally have no problems with people who admit they are pulling for one system or another. I find honesty admirable.
When I said people might give you shit for the Master Chief avatar along with the contents of your post, I was joking around. I think you protest too much.
All I did was disagree with your strange assertion that Microsoft wasn't entirely to blame FOR THEIR OWN POLICIES which they created, and which they presented to publishers. I also found it curious that you have come up with a prediction that you "seriously doubt sony will be able to deliver everything they said about lack of DRM," which is completely baseless and only seems to exist to tick every box on the "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt" checklist.

My brothers fiance went into our local store here in Ireland to preorder it, and was told blatant lies and told straight out to pre order ps4 instead. He told her that games were download only on the Xbox one, and that no previous gamertags could be downloaded and that it had no multiplayer.
Now my brothers fiance doesn't game, she doesn't watch e3 or anything like that so she genuinely believed the guy, ended up walking out of the store. We have to go in again soon enough to preorder the Xbox one, and I'm going to enjoy debunking everything the clerk says.
I'm probably going to get shit because of the fact I actually like the Xbox One, and while I dislike the DRM features, I don't understand this Huge debacle over it. Any time I've bought a second hand game and talked about it on GAF or other forums I'm told to buy the game retail so the developer gets money. And now that Microsoft actually make it so that in the select places you sell it back w/e the developer does get money, the entirety of the World explodes in outrage. Not to mention that considering its mostly up to the publishers the level of DRM placed on games Microsoft can't be entirely to blame. That being said, I seriously doubt sony will be able to deliver everything they said about lack of DRM.
So devs still get no cut? So what's the point? (Besides the obvious)
Well he is an ass for lying if he did but MS isn't helping the issue. The wording on these things are confusing, and after the info has been passed around, its altered accidentally. Your bro's finance probably didn't understand properly and took it as meaning everything is download only. I dunno, anyone could be at fault here.
As it should be. Let sanity prevail.Sample from a quick twitter search of tweets within the last hour.

With Xbone, everything is locked down.
Trade-in and resell your disc-based games: Today, some gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.
No, I read Microsoft's official statement before posting. It's up to publishers.
These employees, as well as most of you, are not stating truth about the Xbox One and used games.

Tbh I think it's probably in Gamestop's best interest to inform customers of the Bone policies, as it will save them a lot of headaches in the future when people come in complaining they can't play their games and whatnot.
It's probably no more than that, I wouldn't assume an anti-MS agenda or anything.
But they charge Gamestop. Which in turn is going to have to increase the price of used games they sell back if they want to keep the same bottom line. And since used games are only marginally cheaper than new games, it essentially becomes an entirely subdued point.
Also, trade goes far and beyond gamestop - it's the general notion of being able to trade with friends or whoever the fuck you please. Aka, basic - human evolution derived cooperation. "I give you and you give me" no longer is relevant in regards to the Xbox one as it used to be with the 360.
Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.
Here's a little more anecdotal evidence from SlickDeals. It shows interest in the PS4 roughly 4 times as active.
PS4 has +407 Thumbs up
XBone has -284 Thumbs down
Every game you put in needs to be done with an online connection to authenticate. The Xbone also requires a 24 hour check once a day.
PS4 games will work like PS3 games unless the publisher wants otherwise. So, it is safe to assume all first party games will work completely offline without authentication. The console itself will not require any online checking.
You've been misinformed, Tigris.
They want to eat retails lunch. Why wouldn't they be anti ms? They don't need to be impartial.
