When person said he wants to see real games, he meant he wants to see real games in positions ABOVE the non games.

Just wait till it gets back into the top ten. (Heh)

Actually, i'm pretty sure it's around 830-850k. It'll need a big boost to make it a million by the end of the year.

It was around 840k several weeks ago -- about three I'd say, offhand. My guess is it's at 860k now, but that's just a guess.

Man, it's crazy that Nintendo is gonna ship 1.5m DSlites in December alone. You can't even begin to imagine how that will affect software.

Pokemon D&P to reach 5 Million by Dec 31, 2006 ?
FFIII to reach 1 Million or more by Dec 31, 2006 ?
DSL to break DS record of almost 600K (IIRC) non-launch sales for week Dec 19 - 25, 2005 ?

Propably not.

and so does that mean that japanese people don't have general knowledge?
As much as Brain Training means they don't have brains.

Yeah. 1.5 million for the month should allow for each week to be 2-3 times as much as the average week has been, but it still won't have the chance to have such an amount available in any given week.

Argh. My prevision were too optimistic for the PS3. The Nintendo DS domination remains so strong even with the PS3 out. Well, of course we have to see when Sony can restock magazines, but for now the situation is static.

That's the interesting point: Nintendo said that 1.5 millions Nintendo DS will be distributed in Japan in December.

After going back to M-create's data for Dec 05, I found that total sales for December 05 is 1,482,684 (using 4 weeks sales from Nov 28 to Dec 25) or 1,695,907 (using 4 weeks sales from Dec 05 to Jan 01).

Either way, after reviewing 2005 data, the news that Nintendo is going to ship 1.5M DSL is not surprising anymore. And don't forget, there are a lot of pent-up (backlog) demand for DSL.

Dec Week 1 (28-04) 176,958
Dec Week 2 (05-11) 299,328
Dec Week 3 (12-18) 408,770
Dec Week 4 (19-25) 597,628
Jan Week 1 (26-01) 390,181

With 30k PS3s being shipped next week we should finally see teh dual screen domination.

No, Sengoku Musou 2 Empires and Naruto: Konoha Spirits on PS2 are released today.

ToT ultimately fails to hang on 10k-line too. I guess its still hasn't reached 120k. I should remember you guys that its first shipment was a little less than 200k.

And then, there goes Scamco delaying ToD the week before its release, with the Famitsu score and such already given. Something is really wrong in Scamco.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

I can't understand. I don't know how people who get paid make those mistakes on these charts. It's their job to be able to differentiate between consoles...

1.5 million DS Lites actually seems on the low side as crazy as that sounds.

They might want to have 1.8-2 million. If they system can move 600k+ again a week in December, that's a big chunk of that 1.5 million gone right there.

Exactly what I was thinking. The sell-through should be about 14m by the end of the year there, anyway. Amazing the system will have had shortages for an entire ****ing year.

nintendo needs at least 2m+ DSL in Japan for december.

Right. DSL is really more popular than the original DS, that did about 400,000 a week in decembre, to finish at more than 600,000. DSL can only sell more, so 1,5 million is not enough... There will be maybe a PSP come-back on december, 21 (TotW, MGS pack)

bign could sell 1Mio in the strongest dec. week ....1.5mio for the whole month is really not much....

Shortages began the next week. It possibly could've beaten 600K the following week, if not for the shortages.

Depends on your definition of a "come-back," I guess.

Will it see a sales increase around the end of December? Yes. All systems do in Japan.
Will it make up any ground on the DS (i.e. come back)? Heck, no.

Thanks for posting the Famitsu chart.

8 weeks left from that until the end of the year. If FFIII continues selling at exactly that rate through the end of the year, it'll end up at 946,000.

What a phenomenal, massive sales disappointment. I can't imagine how Square Enix will ever console themselves over falling so incredibly short of hitting a million. This is a bigger bomb than Tales of the Tempest.

It would be quite a task for Miyamoto to produce all that. :p

Anyway, the numbers don't surprise.

Man, I'm trying to picture Miyamoto doing all that and.... well...... um.

Anyway, what's with this Kanji training... Do you think there will be some sort of Alphabet Training coming to North America??

Is it for the DS? If not, I'm not interested.

Yup, and when compared with Winning Eleven DS, FF3 is the absolute bomb. Bankrupt soon.
