IN A YEAR WITHOUT ANY TRUE 1ST PARTY TITLE

Not counting MLB

The Order, Bloodborne, and Until Dawn are all, technically, 1st party titles (although, this isn't really a term for IPs - it mainly refers to the dev). Doesn't matter either way, though.

How very...boring.

Lol at NFS beating Halo 5 though.

You all have too much of an obsession with Timothy Canine.

I'm still trying to graps the alleged numbers. I was pretty much addicted to Black Friday shopping this year thanks to Wario, and I assumed with the multiple Xbox One bundles all towards the top of the best selling lists that it would outweigh the one main PS4 sku that was always on top.

If it ends up true, I'm always fascinated with long term company reactions. Microsoft was starting to lean towards Live subscription numbers, so I wonder how the marketing of the unit will continue to evolve.

I don't think it is doom and gloom at all, but with the price match itbseems like the ball is in their court for the next challenge. Maybe something more software related?

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2015-12-10-npd-november-was-best-month-ever-for-ps4-xbox-one

"Within console hardware sales there were dramatic differences by console generation as 8th generation console sales rose by 22 percent in dollars, 7th generation sales dropped by 76 percent in dollars, which is sharper than the year-to-date decline of 57 percent. In November 2015, 8th generation sales had 93 percent share of overall hardware sales, a 9 percentage point increase from last November."

Callahan added that PS4 and Xbox One sales continue to far outpace their predecessors: "After 25 months, the combined sales for the PS4 and the XBO are 47 percent higher than the combined sales for 25 months of PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware sales."

Sony, in a separate note to media, patted itself on the back for a huge month for PlayStation. “PlayStation 4 is the top selling console in the United States during the month of November according to NPD," commented Eric Lempel, SVP Marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America and Head of PlayStation Network Americas. "We have hit several key milestones over the last few weeks. Prior to Black Friday, we announced we have sold through more than 30.2 million PS4s to consumers around the world and that PS4 continues to exhibit the fastest growth in PlayStation hardware history. In addition, Black Friday sales were the strongest in PlayStation history demonstrating more people game now than ever before. We are also pleased to announce November was the biggest month ever for PlayStation Store indicating a strong digital marketplace complementing healthy retail sales.”

Battlefront PS4 > One without bundles is major. Uh at Just Dance 2016 Wii U being the second best selling SKU, PS4 almost always quite behind for these games it seems.

Wonder where PS4 COD would be when adding in bundles.

Even if those CODIII numbers are just standalone and not counting bundles, gotta admit how impressive it is so many still identify the brand w/ Xbox even given the PS4 co-marketing. Over time tho I can see sales splitting 70/30 in PS4's favor; just too soon for that right now seems like.

NFS over Halo 5? How?

Considering how much more massive the concurrent player counts are for Battlefront on PS4 compared to Xbone, it doesn't surprise me that it outsold even without bundles. That marketing campaign.

And the movie releasing next week. MADNESS

Oh.
300K is still a pretty big gap.

Welp, guess Microsoft gotta go back to the drawing board. They can't win even during holidays now.

Wasn't the gap at around 800k in the US before this month? So it is over 1 million again. I believe it was around 1.1 million going into November last year. So it looks like Sony has basically wiped out that HUGE turn around the Xbox One made last year in November and December? And December is still to come, and PS4 has the force in December. December should be very interesting.

That is pretty impressive if my numbers are correct, I am sure someone can give the real digits though.

Kinda funny to look back on last year's November NPD and associated reactions now.

Grabbing my popcorn for the main NPD thread now so I can have a good chuckle before bed.

Halo just abouthanging in there. So much for that Black Friday surge some were predicting for it last month.

Also can't help but note the lack of Tomb Raider... oops.

Hmmm, Black Ops 3 Xbox One > PS4. Because of bundles maybe?

Purely anecdotal, but Xbox is still home to the competitive and "wannabe" competitive scene from what I've seen. I'd have to look, but I thought Advanced Warfare was topselling on Xbox for release month but then PS4 afterwards.

Right in the middle.

Tim dog trying to act cool on Twitter but deep inside he's going insane.

He was saying in the past few days he though PS4 would win by a small margin. However, At the beginning of November, after the October Xbox One NPD win, he was saying Xbox one would take November and December.

He was also really pushing that "momentum" the Xbox One had in the Amazon Hourly charts too in November. We need to let him be! He does have some buddies on these forums, and in this thread. We should at least respect that!
