PS I Love You XOXO Live at PlayStation Experience

Oh, doctor, do I have some news for you, PlayStation faithful. I’m Greg Miller from KindaFunny.com, I’ve been covering PlayStation for eight years, and it’s my honor to announce that we have a panel at PlayStation Experience 2015.

I’d really like you to come.

Saturday, December 5th at 5:00 PM Pacific, Colin Moriarty and myself will sit down on the PlayStation Experience Main Stage and bring you a live recording of PS I Love You XOXO, Kinda Funny’s weekly PlayStation podcast. We’ll have insightful criticism of the PlayStation Keynote, guests, and I’ll probably yell “A BAKER’S DOZEN” at some point.

I’ll never be able to properly express how important this opportunity and community are to me. When I started covering PlayStation, I was just some kid who had camped out nine hours for his PS2 and was given a shot at a dream job. Every day since then, you have kept that dream alive. That’s meant reviewing games like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, interviewing folks like Hideo Kojima, and traveling the world.

Last year at the first PlayStation Experience, Colin and I did what we knew would be our last live Podcast Beyond. There, in the only panel that was standing room only, I tried to say goodbye without letting it slip that we were leaving and starting Kinda Funny, a podcast/YouTube brand covering all of the things we love. For someone who had made a career out of being your best friend, I found it incredibly difficult to tell you how important you were to me while not knowing when we’d get to be together again.

We’re going to keep giving you the show you deserve each and every Tuesday on KindaFunny.com, but at the convention? Oh, that’s going to be something special. Shuhei Yoshida’s already agreed to be on the podcast, I have plenty of unfinished business with David Jaffe, and we’ll make sure there’s time to answer your questions.

Oh, and did I mention we’re doing an all ages/free food/fun times Meet & Greet Saturday night? That’s right, at 8:00 PM Pacific Saturday, literally come across the street from PlayStation Experience to Jillian’s (175 4th St.) for Kinda Funny’s Just Cause 3 Meet & Greet. We’re going until midnight, so come win some swag and let me shake your hand.

Well that's nice that they will keep this tradition going even if it's not under the Beyond banner.

For the record, I follow Kinda funny, mainly for colin, I use to like Greg. Until he shamelessly promoted Fuse at Pax East 2013. That game was a joke and what they showed was a joke, yet he tweeted about the panel, and how Fuse was one of the hidden gems of 2013.

That game was fucking awful, and the fact greg lied about how great the game was in front of a whole audience after watching gameplay that looked boring as fuck.

..Rant over

I will watch for colin that is all.

FYI it was when he was still working for IGN. But still, don't be a shill, especially when what they had shown for that game was so bad. Everything read like he nothing he was saying was actually his own words.

NICE! Hopefully they get Bruce and Neil on as I am sure we will get some more UC4 stuff at the show. Love hearing them talk to Colin and Greg.

Yea sorry, it just every-time i watch an episode or listen to the podcast and greg gives his opinion that game fucking comes lingering in my mind and how he shamelessly plugged it. Jeff Gertzmann would have never pulled that, ever.

Sorry If i killed the mood of the thread, for everyone who likes Kinda funny it's just my opinion ignore me if it offends you.

Idk, I think considering who the developer was, a lot of PlayStation fans were hoping Fuse would be a sleeper hit.

That's cool. Kinda Funny is a good Sony-focused website. They should be there.

-It's not only a website, its a company.

-they have two channel that's for two audiences, one for gaming and another for everything else.

-Colin and Greg's show PS I love you, tim's show covers the other platforms and other gaming news that aren't about Sony

Just know I'm not throwing all this info on you bear cub, its for those who still don't know what kinda funny is.

Awesome news for the KF crew. PS I Love You xoxo has quickly become my favorite podcast.

Being the only live podcast at PSX is a huge get. Looking forward to listening to the show.

No, game wasn't even out yet. And there were plenty of videos for the game. He shamelessly hyped the game for everyone to attend. We watched a boring as fuck playthrough, which no one even clapped too.
He then went on to try drum up excitement in the panel by asking questions that Even ted price couldn't drum excitement up to properly answer.
I get it he loves insomniac so do I. But that game was dead on arrival once it changed over from Overstrike, and was published by EA.

I never saw colin doing anything like that in his time with IGN.
He had seen what the game was like before the panel.
I felt is integrity was gone after that shameless plugg.

I mean Jeff Gertzman has Ed boon on the show alot, and will talk about mortal kombat in general, he doesn't send out tweets about "the sleep hit of the year" to his followers.

I really love how genuine Greg actually sounds, and how humble the guy is even though he's the most famous video game journalist around. Even though I prefer Colin a bit more, you have to admire how passionate this guy is when it comes to the community. I laughed when they interviewed Shu on episode 2 and Greg said well why you have us on the show during PSX, it's not like we're the most popular Playstation podcast.

I'm sure he was there as a paid promotor/moderator, either on his own or through IGN. In which case it would've been his job to do the best he could to generate excitement for the game.

I guess I don't see what the issue is here, lots of games media personalities host panels or similar gigs as a way to make extra income. Unless you're saying it wasn't properly indicated that he was being paid for the gig?

Yup!

There wasn't a lot of IGN endorsement, if at all for the panel. It was game over greggy. I believe there was a deal with IGN and EA for Fuse. And to me, I never say Jeff Gertzman, and the likes so shamelessly try to sell the game that had not even been out yet.

It's called integrity. And something that sometimes I feel because of his love for Sony based game developers get's in the way.

No offense but this seems like a really weird cross to bear. He was overly optimistic about a game from a good developer in 2013 and you're acting like he's made a career of selling review scores to game companies. It's your loss if you don't listen to PS I love You XOXO (Best videogame podcast around atm) because of your hate for Greg, but at least have something more concrete and substantial to base your hate off of, this is oddly specific and not seemingly a big deal at all.

Ok...? I mean thanks for telling us this important info on a thread which is about a podcast run by the co founder who you don't give a crap about anymore...lol.

Like seriously? Did you really have to get that off your chest here or something?

I listen and follow them? But if you also know Greg he has shamelessly plugged games like that for his game over greggy and Up at Noon show he did for IGN. I am sorry that I unloaded, I enjoy their talks on the podcast, it's just that when greg now talk's about certain games I guess his crediability to me goes into the dumpster. As I have yet seen that same behavior with other Podcast, Show identity's in gaming.

I love colin, I think he is more credible than Gregg as he hasn't done shameless pluggs for games. Only games he recommends or think's are interesting.

There was nothing interesting about that game, and everyone in the audience knew it. I was there with 3 friends. The way he handled it came off like a straight up PR guy, and if your trying to build an audience of credibility for listeners and followers that's a big fucking NO NO.

I am in no way saying you can't enjoy, I just ranted on when ever I listen to the podcast that the image of him at the panel shamelessly plugging the game calling it the sleep hit of 2013, after we saw shitty, boring gameplay just puts me off.

Sorry if I soured the thread :(
