Maybe Microsoft wasn't satisfied by Deadlight quality and/or sales and didn't believe in Tequila Works anymore. Jury is still out.

It'll probably be more like SotC/Journey style narrative, where it's more in the gameplay/world design than traditional story-tellingEDIT: the one thing I don't like from that document is that there isn't a story. I think that art style would be perfect for a story-based game.

Yeah, that's most likely why....combined with the request for over $3 million to fund it.
In treads like this I have to wonder how many people hyping Rime with so little footage shown have actually played that stinker.
