To be fair they haven't cared about Silent Hill since the 3rd one. They just whore it out to make a quick buck every now and then. Hell, I'd probably rather play a Silent hill light gun game or pachislot over anything Hulett got his grubby mitts on anyway.

They're just going to keep doing this, aren't they? Can we all try to, like, boycott casinos that use their machines before they get to Metal Gear? Especially because they'll probably stop and do a Bomberman one along the way; I don't know if I can handle that.

Their pachisolt stuff greatly outperforms their videogames, and the people you'd need to convince of this don't give a shit about videogames, or are fine with it.
They wouldn't be making this change if it wasn't financially smart.

So how does attaching these franchises onto slots actually enhance them financially or otherwise? The presumed majority/mainstream aren't likely to know these storied IP from some new generic IP they just made up, and the "otaku/gamers" who do are going to to be aware of Konami's tactics/negative press and would be apt to avoid them out of principle. I just don't understand what they're gaining.

Looking forward to the Suikoden pachislot that uses assets from the supposedly halted Suikoden game that may or may not have been development, like they are doing here with Silent Hills.
