PS4 got a JRPG (or close enough, depending on your definition) every week for the first 3 weeks of October, so there's that. And a ton are coming in 2016.
I think we're likely to have more JRPGs early in the PS4's life than we did on PS3 for quite a while.

Oh, its definetly better than the PS3, no doubt about that. But the PS3 era was not a good time for console JRPGs, we had so few compared to the PS2 era.
I know we'll never get to PS2 numbers ever again, but I would definitely be happy with more hehehehe.
That's a healthy number of games for such a new platform, I'm sure the XB1 number is much lower. What I would very much like to know is sales numbers for the games on PSN, retail and indie. Do indie games generally find success on PS4 or is the market skewed more towards big budget games?.
Does the small number of games compared to Steam help these titles stand out and achieve good sales? We have so much data on Steam thanks to Steam Spy but we know next to nothing about these other services
