Well I've tweeted this thread to @PlayStation @Yosp @EA @BioWare asking if they could clear it up.
Anyone I'm missing?
You forgot include these twitter accounts as well @UN and @RedCross.

Then have a different trailer made. These companies have the money not to mention the craploads they stand to make from this or any other AAA game. It's you who is being sold something and it is on them to be honest about it.
Trying too hard here.
Blame it on PSN; it'll work better, lol.
I think this is on EA.
You can apologize all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that it is how development works. I've been a part of this process, including E3 builds / QA.
You can also continue to bury your head in the sand about an in-development project that is a year away, or use common sense to realize that as we get closer to the actual game release the way the final title looks will be present in gameplay, including captures for each channel and sites like PlayStation Access likely having their own captures.
Not to mention the countless sites like GiantBomb, KindaFunny, Easy Allies, GameSpot, Polygon, etc. that will look at gameplay on specific platforms.
This is not "duping" the consumer. This is a runtime-target of an in-development title.
You forgot include these twitter accounts as well @UN and @RedCross.
In a perfect world all marketing is indicative of the product being sold. However, in reality, product are always presented in perfect conditions.
I'm not defending EA for their shitty business practices, but this thread is kinda dumb. If their hadn't been any button prompts, or just PS prompts, we wouldn't have had this thread. But the trailer would be equally deceitful. What I am doing is applying common sense.
It's a game still in production, ways off from release, a vertical slice in most ideal situation, on what EA says is 1X. Nothing is finalized.
I'm just not hiding behind "EA has shown me this, therefore it's going to be exactly that."
I'm sorry but I'm confident that they are smart enough to sort out a way to do this that isn't duping consumers.
If it isn't a big deal to you then why are you here? To defend these companies? To make fun of those who would advocate for more consumer friendly practices?
Because this is an objectively anti consumer move. The only one's it benefits are the companies.
And again, I've personally always seen this as an issue. It's always something that has bugged me.
Holy Shit this thread is still going?
What the hell, I thought by page 2 we were in the know how this works...
What the fuck is there to debate?
Also OP thread history, yeah no agenda here lol
This seems like laziness rather than any sort of conspiracy.
laziness? how? it would be lazy if they Just posted the Video without any misleading modifications
Are you actually suggesting that companies should reshoot a trailer for each platform the game will release on?
Are you serious?
Well considering there is quite a power gap between the 1X and the Pro, it could be misleading, although...Because rather than record it on Sony target machinery, or even record it without Xbox prompts, they chose to quickly overwrite the prompts.
That's laziness, nothing more. Nothing sinister.
It's highly unlikely that they have this same demo up and running on every console. Hell, I highly doubt this demo will even make it into the final game. It's basically just a verticle slice put together for E3. E3 demos can take weeks to put together.is that something that's super hard or going to cost several million of dollars to make?
Hey guys just to let you know.
My lawyer is behind this, he suggested me a class suit, who's in?
nor is it difficult to find platform comparisons of a game. i.e. Digital Foundry
Lol nice job Sony. Smh.
Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a gamer when I see stuff like this outrages some people more than blocking cross play. It's simply unreasonable to expect every trailer to have a separate version for every single platform it's releasing on.
Well considering there is quite a power gap between the 1X and the Pro, it could be misleading, although...
We all witnessed Watchdogs E3 2011(?), downgrades, misleading is something that disappointingly happens a lot in the gaming world.
The difference between the games on the consoles will be a lot bigger than the majority are thinking IMO.
All the turtles. What the hell has happened to the forum?
???God of War was revealed at E3 2016, shown at E32017, and will release in H12018. Where were the complaints?
Be consistent. It's percent reasonable to show a game 1.5 years before release.
For trailers its completely fine, they're meant to advertise the game in its best light possible, almost dramatise it.look at another EA bioware game like mass effect andromeda on both current base machines. do you see a vast chasm of difference? do you see one looking so vastly inferior that you couldn't use footage from the other to advertise both? of course you don't because it doesn't exist. especially when you game in isolation like most normal people and don't sit them side by side to see the small, insignificant details that Do happen to be there.
no-one is going to care about a game being promoted using PC footage, hell, no-one does care. it happens now. it has been happening for years and no-one has given a shit. gamers aren't naive. they knew when they see a battlefield trailer looking like the dogs bollocks with 60 player multiplayer footage at 60 fps that is wasn't the PS3 version. they don't need to be told, they don't need a disclaimer, they don't need 7 versions of the same trailer made that cater to each platform. they have common sense. now imagine a world where games like battlefront 2 have all the graphical bells and whistles on all platforms, all have 40 players, and all run at 60fps. it's why when EA released the trailer for that game, it was PC footage, and it's why that same footage was posted on the playstation youtube channel and the xbone youtube channel. because by and large all versions will look so similar there really is no need in making individual trailers.
the reality is that anthem will look marginally worse on pro. it will look marginally worse still on PS4, and marginally worse STILL on xbone, it'll also look marginally better on PC, probably at both the minimum and recommended spec. it will look marginally better on PC again if you have some beast rig. do we really need 7 versions of the same trailer to know this?

People are making a big deal about nothing.
I love how you single out MS here, although you had UC4's first reveal which was supposed to be "in-game".4. Don't forget about all those E3 2013-17 Xbox One gameplay trailers and presentation running on PC without a disclaimer.
