Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

Producer, Cammy's walkspeed is one of the cheapest and most braindead thing in this game. I'm only half exaggerating.

Aren't there defensive Roman cancels? I know gg has ones that are all different colors. I couldn't tell you the difference between them.

Man, I hate the top tiers in this game. Games shouldn't be so close with characters I never use.

Also, I don't get Cammy's nerfs at all. I thought divekick was negative, but it seems super plus to me most of the time, unless horribly horribly off aim.

EDIT: Lobby is glitching out and I actually have to go anyway Producer, GGs. Cammy is a scrub character, and you should feel bad. You had me on tilt since the first Cammy match after the constant shimmys and wakeup jabs lol

Yellow RC: cancel the move during it's start up, mostly used to create offense opportunities.
Red RC: canceling a move after it hits, to convert into bigger combos.
Purple RC: cancelling a whiffed move during it's recovery frames to save your ass from getting punished, sort of a defensive option.

Lol ggs. I hate getting wakeup jabbed too. We need those airtight meatys on point. With the cammy divekick, if it hits the lower body its gonna be plus

Yeah, I'm only now realizing that back teching on wakeup completely avoids alex's regular setups, so I'm still trying to adjust to that revelation.

yeah you are gonna need to work on that lol. time to hit the lab. though being alex he probably doesnt get much off back tech except maybe some of his ex moves

This reddit thread and gamefaqs say that both BrutalAce and Khaled had their patreons shut down because Capcom didnt want them charging money for using many of Capcoms assets. I can still see their patreon pages, but not the $$$ per month earned etc, so Im not sure what happened.
I have to say, both those modders made some really good stuff and BrutalAce seemed like a nice guy the few times I spoke to him on the SfxT forums.
When using others peoples assets, I dont think its fair to ask people for direct payment to use mods. I think that was what was happening here, but Im not sure. The modders time and effort should be rewarded through general patreon donations, from people who choose to donate after gaining free access to their mods though.

The creator of the SFxT mod forum then perma-banned them, because he was so mad.

So on the subject of that steam DLC shit. What's the timeline between a developer adding it in the database and adding it to the game? A few weeks? A month? No determinable time period?

wait what. what does that have to do with anything lmao, why was it necessary.

welp, rip sfv modding scene. those guys produced like 80% of all quality mods

add: its actually upsetting that people are more happy that 2 guys wont get any money now instead of being upset that there wont be more quality mods for this game at all. if people think those guys will waste dozens of hours of their free time for 0 profit just because of "passion" they are delusional. i say this as an ex heroes of newerth modder that had more than 100k downloads overall. i didnt charge for my mods, but i sure as hell would've made a lot more of them if i was paid to do so. each mod took a few days to make, working on them for 8-10 hours a day. i mostly did them for myself, the only reason i didnt mind all the work.

i really dont get it, jealous idiots

Guys, whats your opinion on this fightstick:

Been using it for about a year since I managed to get it for €20 but it's probably bottom of the barrel in terms of quality. Am I possibly hindering myself?

I don't think any one , well most people are jelous or upset, I think its... well I spoke on it

I don't think he understands that the reason they got the DMCA was because they were hiding materials who for the most part were created by capcom behind a paywall. Paytreon support and a day late release is different from " you can't use my mods unless you pay me" because then you are holding copyrighted materials that were for the most part made by someone else , behind a paywall they don't have access to.

Its like if Team Four Star started charging for DBZA per episode, yeah you transformed it but even shit like MST3k or sampling in music have to pay the people who created the original content to use it for that product , they have done none of that.

Its something people saw coming, and some people were I wouldn't say mad but the last time we hered from one of those dudes, he thew a hissyfit over people asking him to upload his publicly released mods on weird sites with limited banwidth onto something like mega, and stopped giving his mods out for free because people were asking for... something fairly reasonable. And that everyone else had been doing with their mods, even other people asking for money.

So not only was it a legal gray area, some of the people modding weird kind of being jerks about it, so there isn't really as much sympathy.

I mean I feel for him in the sense of being an artist and putting time in, but a lot of the mods were assets made by others sold behind a wall, and how legal that is is up for debate.

I guess time will tell if they still want to make any mods. I think BrutalAce will, because he started making them ages ago for SFxT and wasnt motivated by financial gain then. He just likes making stuff AFAIK.
Like I said, if you mostly import other peoples meshes and textures, release them as a mod, and then charge others to use that mod - it might be a bit unreasonable. Have the mods available for free and then let people donate to your patreon, for the time and effort you invest? Thats fine IMO.

I used to own that exact stick. It was the only one I could fine in a store, here in Australia ($79 at JB hi fi!).
I use the official SFxT stick now and it feels much more solid, but the EX2 was ok for what it was. The do feel flimsy and the parts cant be replaced in them either. I think I broke 2 or 3 of them, because of my bad temper :/

well people are literally saying "fuck those paywall guys".

i mean, you can think "mods should be free" all you want but its not a sacred rule written in blood. there are no rules.

yes, this is illegal as hell and there is absolutely no wonder that they got their asses banned from patreon, but why would anyone be happy that it happened? everybody loses in this outcome.
there wont be any mods from those guys. hurray?

and they actually released their mods for free after some time. they dont owe anybody, anything.
being upset that you cant get something other people made, for free - is the ultimate entitlement attitude. they can do whatever the fuck they want with their mods.

my mods were free and even in this case some chinese and american dudes were posting them under their own name, stealing even simple credit for my work.

its beyond ridiculous.

again, i am more upset at people reaction than actual issue. ban from patreon was legit. shit is illegal.
why everyone is up in arms over other dudes business - is what puzzles me to no end.

There just jealous of BrutalAce's work. The only thing he's charging are nude mods,

Any roman cancels that made it into this game would be wack anyway

V-cancelling a fireball probably wouldn't be safe on block, let alone end in combos

Then what is the point if Akuma can FADC fireballs or just FADC in general?

I will be pretty disappointed if Haggar was just a costume for Zangief. There is definitely room for him especially when Ryu/Ken can coexist. Give Haggar his pipe for starters and you got some variety right there...

If folks are upset at folks making money , then those people need to get their own life on track.

All i'm speaking on is the legal gray area, of modified Copyright content and rerleasing it for sale, and the even more legal gray area of using copy right content from other areas, for example a model from another game entirely to release for sale for another product like characters from Nier Automata.

I am also commenting one modders actions on forums in response to the request of " hey could you upload your mod to a website with decent download speed" and how he took that, and how there are people because how he took perciving him as a jerk.

capcom looking into adding SFIV mechanics into V to make it a better game lmao

They don't even need to do that

They could just add V trigger, V Skill and super variants and that solves a lot of the issue. Those would literally if done well allow people to play characters completely differently.

V-cancelling should be a thing used to extend combos when ending in special moves. Like im thinking of when you do a flash chop, you v-cancel it, and it does like a wall bounce that sends the opponent back in range for another setup.

Sounds kinda Marvel when I type it up but it also sounds like fun. Im just imagining Guile doing a flash kick v-cancel, into a flash kick v-cancel, into a flash kick v-cancel, and watching the opponent bounce up and down.

On the topic of paid mods, these bans will destroy the community. Those two were the frontrunners of SFxT and late-SFIV modding, and they were easily doing the heavy lifting for SFV. Especially BrutalAce, who was a cool guy beyond a few occasional mistakes. I don't see any problem with using Patreon as a donation or tip jar, but charging for exclusive features is a line that definitely shouldn't be crossed, especially when you're asking for $50/month for a mod that's named like a JAV porno. Even timed exclusivity is going pretty far. The extend paying should get you is requests for specific mods and features.

I do think, however, SSM's kneejerk reaction to permaban both went too far, too. He should've talked to both and told them to upload all of their mods for free on good sites like MediaFire and MEGA. Banning them without a second to let them know will only discourage them from ever contributing again, which is pretty massive when they're leading the mosding pack.

I'm outta the loop, is there any veracity to this V-cancel thing?
I know a guy who knows a guy who said various things are coming to SFV. He nailed a certain detail of the Anniversary Collection the day before that really helps me believe he's mostly legit.

People are already v cancelling their losses on block into rage quit.
I laughed way too hard at this.
