Fast traveling so far is faster than going in and out of buildings.
I thought it had to do with Ps3's low RAM?
Hi guys, further impressions.
So I went outside of that place, and then there were raiders all over the place, up and down, everywhere. Some of them threw molotov cocktails at me, which resulted in massive frame rate drops.
Then I killed those raider scums and went back to mother base.
It is really smooth everywhere else than this area. I have to venture further into that town, maybe the problems will persist, maybe it's only that area.
Again, game runs pretty smooth 'for a Bethesda game'. Also, game is fun.
Yes, I remember them having problem squeezing everything into the 8 gigs of ram of those machines... maybe they are having the same problem now with 16 gb of modern consoles?
PS4 version is a technical mess. SHOCKING NEWS.
Someone reuploaded the one hour PS4 footage. Quote to reveal.
Are you for real? There is no evidence that anything is a mess. Go troll elsewhere.

Don't be so sure. Yoshi's Wooly World has an annoying framerate hitching glitch if you play with the gamepad off.
I see literally nothing that can be considered a) significant, b) endemic, or even c) representative at this point. A couple weird hitches contrasted with plenty of footage that tell different stories.
There could be any of number things happening that are purely a matter of incident, that without more information really shouldn't be used as a judgment. There's also no information to suggest that last generation issues are a factor; if anything, we have more information to suggest they *aren't*. And certainly, there's nothing here that cannot be fixed through patches.
If people are seriously crucifying a company and giving up on a game entirely because of a handful of short videos in a sea of leaks, GAF really is hopeless.
If you're still doing tests, can you try favouriting a few guns and swapping between them rapidly? I got the impression from one video that there's a little hitching when swapping, and I'd like to get that confirmed.
Why? Because somebody does not think that the game will be universally praised? I don't even have a PS4.
8 gigs of ram? I thought the Ps3 had some 256MB of RAM!Yes, I remember them having problem squeezing everything into the 8 gigs of ram of those machines... maybe they are having the same problem now with 16 gb of modern consoles?

That title made me giggle.
8 gigs of ram? I thought the Ps3 had some 256MB of RAM!
also quickloading after a death.
That's the best news I've heard all day.Yeah, I also really like that a quicksave is quick for once on consoles.
me too
Fallout 4 |OT| Enjoy the Family BBQ!
I thought it had 512MB but split into 2 pools?

PS3 has 256 MB memory for system and 256 MB memory for video.I thought it had 512MB but split into 2 pools?
256BM RAM for the CPU
256MB VRAM for the GPU
But what does that have to do with Fallout 4???
The way these threads have been going, that may be an appropriate title.
Is there actually a quicksave function on consoles now? Or just autosaving?
Thank god I have a 980 Ti.

There was always a quick save option on the consoles...are we talking about the same thing?

Quick saving as in a keystroke that initiates an instant save outside of a menu (i.e. F5).
I don't recall this ever being in any console versions.
No, no dedicated button. You press options and then quicksave. It's pretty fast. You can choose to save manually too.
So there is:
- Quicksave
- Autosave
- manually saving
It also creates more slots. So if you fuck up one save, you can easily go back a few saves.
I hope I won't have 100+ saves by the end, I am not at 15 or so.
"Horrible" seems like a bit of an exaggeration from that clip but eh... I haven't played it myself. I've only watched a few other gameplay clips to avoid spoilers, but haven't been hearing/seeing the same.
In my opinion, this is yet another example of Microsoft paying off the publishers to provide inferior experiences on PlayStation consoles. The Xbox has sold poorly, and it quickly becoming irrelevant, so Microsoft are resorting to cheap tactics such as having PlayStation versions deliberately gimped in order to stay relevant in the eyes of consumers. Assassin's Creed Unity, The Witcher 3, and Resident Evil Revelations 2 are examples of this awful practice. I'm sure when you play this game on the Xbox One All In One Entertainment System, this game will be 1080p at a locked 30FPS, with mods available from the get go.
