STORY
1999 - the "24 Wards". A string of mysterious serial killings plagues the city.
The detectives of the 24 Wards Heinous Crimes Unit have their eyes on one man: Kamui Uehara, legendary serial killer and assassin of a number of government officials 20 years prior in the now-famous "Silver Case". However, nobody knows who - or what - Kamui really is.

Has he really returned? Who is this infamous serial killer?

As player, you will take control of the protagonist - a member of the Special Forces Unit known as “Republic” - from a first-person perspective. Inspired by classic adventure and visual novel-style games, The Silver Case offers a fresh and unique gameplay experience as it leads the player through an in-depth story containing various puzzles, uncovering the truth piece by piece.

The Silver Case was the debut game from developer SUDA51, creator of titles such as Flower, Sun and Rain, Killer 7, the No More Heroes series, Lollipop Chainsaw and most recently LET IT DIE. Now, The Silver Case HD Remaster - the new and improved version of Grasshopper Manufacture Inc.'s maiden title - is coming to various PC distribution platforms in the fall of 2016.

The game will be fully remastered while still retaining the same feel and atmosphere of the original PSX version from 1999. It will also be fully localized into English for the first time ever, finally giving SUDA51 fans throughout the world the chance to enjoy The Silver Case.

I'm going to pick it up but I'll admit to not knowing much about it beyond what I've heard on this forum. Great to see localisations and ports like this being done though.

Edit: A limited phyiscal edition in on sale from Limited Run Games for $49.99USD, this includes an emailed Steam key to play (I'm not sure when they go out, soon I guess) https://limitedrungames.com/products/the-silver-case-pc?variant=29267095619

Thanks MrDoctor for the physical info

Here's the pages for those but they aren't active yet:
https://www.gog.com/game/the_silver_case
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-silver-case?hmb_source=search_bar

Playism seems like a good deal with the Steam key. My internet is totally shot at the moment, download will take forever.

Edit: from the pages it seems like GOG is DRM free only but humble is Steam key only. Might change when they go live though

It looks like getting it from Playism is the best deal, especially if you are in Europe.

Marginally cheaper (due to USD), you get both the Steam and DRM-free version, and the publisher gets a bit more money.

Just bought it there.

anyone have an idea of how long this game is? No ones played the remake in here I assume, but...yeah, are we talking a quick weekend game, or not at all.

Yeah, just saw the LRG version and ordered it. I'll keep it sealed though.

Picked it up this morning. Is there anyway to turn off the TEXT APPEARING SOUND because it's headache-inducing grating after a few mins. Also when can you save?

Has anyone gotten the LRG key yet and is it just the Steam/deluxe bundle key, or would we also get a DRM-free download?

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
I'm interested in this, but will wait for impressions first. VN/adventure games have historically been very hit/miss for me. Basically,

Where the reviews at?

The Playism page mentions the OST having "Total 34 BGMs from the game including the OP remix". It may be the reissue of The Silver #01 Structure, with the new (Yamaoka?) remixed theme.

It's a PC exclusive release of a niche as fuck old Japanese game releasing around when Mafia 3 and Gears of War reviews are launching. It's not going to get a ton of reviews, at least not right away.

If ever. Not from the big boys anyway, that's for sure.
