UK: PS4 sales up 380% on back of £149 bundles, 55% higher than Xbox one

Well for £150 no shit they sold like that. Let's see what happens in the next few weeks when we're back to normal prices. I almost bought a second PS4 at that price and I don't even need one

Pretty much expected. In UK who has the best deals wins. XB had great deals last week on top of the launch week of the Slim and it won, now PS4 is back on top thanks to deals on original models.
Too bad that last week some people made a huge drama and now this week we won't see half of those people posting here ;)

Btw and this seems to apply for the US as well, the Pro is having a stronger success with preorders than expected, the Slim is basically not getting any sales from core gamers and traditional upgraders right now since most are waiting for the Pro. So with deals on original PS4 units coming to an end I can see overall PS4 sales slowing down in October just to explode in November with the Pro launch and the introduction of better deals for the Slim with more interesting bundles for the mainstream market (COD, Watch Dogs 2, FFXV).

Spot on IMO.

The Pro is going to do really well for a high end SKU, whilst the Slim will be the answer to the XB1 bundles and sales.

Hopefully now we can realize people loosing their minds like last week were being silly, as many of us predicted things just went back and equalized

What's strange about that ? People are price sensitive no matter if it's UK, US or any other place. They saw a good deal on Xbox, they went for it, they saw a good deal on PS4, they did the same. With such deep promotions people are buying stuff regardless what it is.

Okay, so two weeks ago, the XB1 was up by 989% and outsold the PS4 by a factor of 274%, while the PS4 itself was up 22%. Then last week, the XB1 fell 16% and the PS4 increased by 380%

Code:
[U]Week 37[/U] (PS4 Slim Launch)
PS4: ???
XB1: ???

[U]Week 38[/U] (XB1S Launch)
PS4: ??? [+22%]
XB1: ??? [+989%] {+274% > PS4}

[U]Week 39[/U]
PS4: ??? [+380%] {+54% > XB1}
XB1: ??? [-16%]

Plugging in 2,500 for the XB1 in Week 37, we get

Code:
[U]Week 37[/U] (PS4 Slim Launch)
PS4: ~5,400
XB1: ~2,500

[U]Week 38[/U] (XB1S Launch)
PS4: ~6,600 [+22%]
XB1: ~24,700 [+989%] {+274% > PS4}

[U]Week 39[/U]
PS4: ~31,700 [+380%] {+53% > XB1}
XB1: ~20,700 [-16%]

With this we would also find Week 38 or 39 in 2015, depending on which one GFK was referring to.
Code:
[U]Week 38 or 39[/U]
PS4: ~19,400
XB1: ~14,000

Only problem here is Week 39 only has the PS4 ahead by 53%, but that is close enough to the rounded results we have gotten. This is just an example and not the actual numbers, but should be close given that the UK is in a slow sales period.
