I can't wait to play the new expansion for a month and then stop till the next expansion.

And honestly, why can't it be just that? I mean, as long as a dedicated base of subscribers are keeping the base going, why can't there be a subset of players like us who come back every expansion to sink our teeth into the world again for a short time before moving on? It's a great cycle that busy lives restrict us to.

Hmm.. Is there any way to sub from inactivity using on-character gold, or would I have to sub with real money and then buy tokens?
Yes. You can still login to the game and it will give you the option to buy a token. Just select the character who has enough gold and it should work.
Cause the answer to the current wow xpac not being as good is to play a game that is even worse![]()
Boom.
I can't imagine Heavensward being worse than WoD to be fair, but A Realm Reborn was one of the worst MMOs I've played.
Mu momey is on AU Gul'dan going to the Tomb of Sargeras for an Azshara/South Sea expansion.
Just throwing it out there so that I can quote myself later.
Gnomes existed in Warcraft 2. The alliance submarine and copter units were Gnomish.

Warcraft 2 HD... CMON BLIZZARD.
What's even left to do lore wise? You went to a different planet, killed the bad guy of the third game, saw the world get destroyed, met some pandas, and went through time. I guess the naga? The maelstrom, that's a thing right?
At the bottom of the ocean even light must die
The silent, sleeping, staring houses in the backwoods always dream. It would be merciful to tear them down.
There is no sharp distinction between the real and the unreal.
Even death may die.
There is a little lamb lost in dark woods.
All places, all things have souls. All souls can be devoured.
What can change the nature of a man?
The stars sweep chill currents that make men shiver in the dark.
You will all be alone in the end.
Do you dream while you sleep or is it an escape from the horrors of reality?
Look around. They will all betray you. Flee screaming into the black forest.
In the land of Ny'alotha there is only sleep.
In the sleeping city of Ny'alotha walk only mad things.
Ny'alotha is a city of old, terrible, unnumbered crimes.
Y'knath k'th'rygg k'yi mrr'ungha gr'mula.
The void sucks at your soul. It is content to feast slowly.
The drowned god's heart is black ice.
It is standing right behind you. Do not move. Do not breathe.
Have you had the dream again? A black goat with seven eyes that watches from the outside.
In the sunken city, he lays dreaming.
Open me! Open me! Open me! Then only will you know peace.
You resist. You cling to your life as if it actually matters. You will learn.
The tortured spirits of your ancestors cling to you, screaming in silence. Apparently they are quite numerous.
The fish know all the secrets. They know the cold. They know the dark.
The giant rook watches from the dead trees. Nothing breathes beneath his shadow.
Beneath the shadow of the darkened spire, there is no light, no mercy, only void, and the chaos within.

Also there's no counting out them just throwing something completely out there no one could guess as an expansion like Mists and just making a ton of shit up.
Which is fine because Mists is cool and not a retread
I don't think anyone really thought Warlords would be next. I didn't read War Crimes or any of that so maybe some people did, but time travel orcs is about as ridiculous as it gets, I hope.
Prepare yourselves for even less launch content at an even higher markup.
I love how the general attitude now is that MoP was a great xpac. People hated on it the entire time it was current content and now....
I always liked MoP myself, even if my class was kinda shit for end game content half of the time (DK).
I wonder if we'll look back on WoD with the same rose-tinted glasses... probably not, WoD honestly is a piece of garbage.

I think I still dislike Cata more then WoD. I played Cata the most and WoD the least out of any content, though.
Dragon Soul was really shit and the Deathwing fight was super disappointing...the massive subscriber exodus during the content drought after DS was not surprising.
Cata is probably the most ambitious xpac but they kind of screwed the pooch.
Think Blizzard will upgrade the graphics engine to support DX12? They upgraded the engine back in Cata to DX11. Wouldn't that give a pretty huge boost in performance?
I just hope they do something so the professions don't feel as boring as in WoD. Seriously it felt like so much time was spent just waiting for daily cooldowns to get to max level and to buy new recipes than any other expansion I have played. Also I still don't understand the reasoning behind the removal of all professions perks and passives, did those really have any sort of drastic effect that hurt game balance? Same thing with the removal of the specializations (potion mastery, etc.), I did not like that change.
I did feel the new catchup mechanics were a decent addition, but overall I was not a fan of how this expansion handled professions. But then again, maybe I'm just still angry about alchemy being unable to make healing potions and the creation of healing potions in first aid requiring endless fishing.

Ya cuz you came up with that one... only seen it mentioned 90,000 times on mmo-champ and in this very thread![]()

Phoning up Spatula:
Always loved Mists and always will. It and Wrath are my favourite periods of the game, been playing since launch.
Cata is still worse than Warlords. They fucked up a lot of the old world revamp which is even worse than the year of the worst raid in the game's 11 year history or the awful cut off story lines or the shit 5 mans or the etc etc
The worst part of the 1-60 revamp was the experience reduction needed to get through it - so much content but you blast through a zone 2 levels before the game designed for it
Also they still made 45 to 55 suck. Hard.
Also 45-55 is great, you cray. Swamp of Sorrows is right in that range, and it has that little quest line based on warcraft 1 and 2 battles!
To be fair, Swamp of Sorrows is the only good zone for that whole range. Blasted Lands has its moments but drags on too long in the beginning.
Did they ever backpedals on LFR tier sets? As a super casual player these days that was one of the things that killed WoD for me, not being able to get the welfare sets just for looks
Well a bunch of them are now cooler looking than the "proper" sets.
